The location is an adults only YMCA and caters to the active seniors community. I've only visited one occasion thus far to check it out and I (mid 40's) was on the youthful side. The facility is in the excellently refurbished West Bend Company factory. There's a nearby coffee shop for the post workout and/or Tochi Ramen. There are plenty of workout machines and free weights in a comfortable atmosphere. The locker rooms are spacious & maintained nicely. Unlike the main Y branch you do need to provide your own lock, but with the age of the clientele I don't envision theft from lockers is much of a thing here. The shower stalls provide about twice the space in comparison to the main Y branch. The facility offers a sauna in the locker room. There is no pool or whirlpool. I hope a whirlpool is considered in any future expansion as I think it would fit in well with the adults only theme. The facility offers programming similar to the main Y branch, albeit in a smaller scale. A great downtown location and West Bend is lucky to be home to two YMCA facilities.

This was our first visit…read more I had no idea what to expect, and I was pleasantly surprised at all the different villages, and the workers they had there in period clothing, explaining to the visitors what they were doing. It was lovely to me and through all the different villages, and take in the history of it all. I would love to see it in fall. I'm sure it is absolutely as beautiful as in every season. Highly recommend for all age groups.

Thankfully, they offer trams to bring you between the villages. We opted to walk and it was quite the work out on a late July day. But, loved the experience to help bring us back in time a bit. They do have a few treats along the way like ice cream, food and beer/canned adult beverages/soda, but I definitely recommend you bring water or snacks. It can be a long day if you take your time and check out all the buildings, which I highly recommend. The staff are so friendly and informative and answer questions patiently. There was urine on the bathroom floor, a filthy chair, a badly stained tub, broken security latch, barely-attached smoke detector, and furniture falling apart. (Pics to prove it.)( I did clean bathroom myself) Reported it to Choice Hotels, and despite sending photos, they claimed they couldn't confirm my stay--so they dismissed my complaint. Do better, Choice Hotels. This was unacceptable. #HotelFail #TravelWarning
