Came here for the 2 day Pancakes and Booze event to support my boyfriend showcasing his art. Lot 613 is a great venue with tons of space! There's two separate warehouse rooms and an outdoor area for mingling and getting air. It's also great that there's loads of street parking which is always a nice score in DTLA. My only dislike is the ONE restroom. Not one for each gender but just one restroom total. If you're having a huge event here I guarantee you'll have a looooong line. This venue barely earns the 2 stars. So heres the good. Its a multi use space where they do all sorts of events. To date ive been here for a gallery art show, and maybe 3-4 dj nights. Its for the most part one level and pretty open. I cant stand venues where you feel like you spend all night climbing stairs. I dont usually get drinks here so dont have any idea about drink prices and or quality. They have one main bar. They do have a taco stand outside in the patio area. I havent tried the food but nice to have food onsite. Now heres why it barely earns 2 stars. Every event i have been to here has been boiling hot inside even during the winter. I get that on dj nights people are dancing and drinking so it will be somewhat warm. But, when its so hot that moisture is accumulating on the ceiling and dripping onto the djs laptop you get where this can be annoying. They have one bathroom only which on busy nights means super long waits even for the mens bathroom. That just makes me want to drink less fluid. This venue is located in the middle of an industrial park in the middle of nowhere in downtownla. On busy nights street parking is hard to find. The venue should find a way to get a lot open nearby or valet service or something like that. Some people might not mind the long walk thru dtla, but i sure dont. The thing that irritated me the most was how the venue security was deciding on who could or couldn't come in to the venue. They even turned people away when the organizers were trying to get everyone in. They kept saying capacity issues, when i walked in they could have easily let in another 100 people. They could learn from other venues on how to take care of paying customers. read more

Attended The Opulent Temple White Party on the biggest full moon of the year... I arrived around 1:30 am and some people were already leaving. I did a few laps around looking for parking and found the valet. Perfect. There was security stationed in various corners of the building, which put me at ease, since the club was in a seedier part of town. Showed the door my eticket, walked in, ahhhhhhh, DUBSTEP!!!! Most everyone was clad in white, save for a few people, very few people. There were 2 different rooms, both with BASS GALORE and lights lights lights everywhere!!! There was live painting going on in the patio area as well as the BOOGALOO art car parked outside...live painting going on upstairs inside one of the warehouses as well.. Awesome crowd. This was rented out for a party I went to. At first I was a little nervous because the location is way into downtown and I thought it would be in a rough neighborhood. It's kind of off by itself though on a side street. I did feel safe there. They had lots of security always walking around too which was nice. This is a really big open space with an upstairs (not too large) and a downstairs and an outside. The acoustics were pretty good. If you didn't like the music or it was too loud you could escape or just wanted to talk and go to the back of the room or outside. Not sure if it was just for my event but we ended up giving the car to the valet. They had an outdoor lot where they park the cars. Parking was $10. For an event, the space is really what you make of it. I could see this space taking on whatever theme of the event it was hosting, wedding, concert, art venue etc. The possibilities are endless. read more

I attended an event sponsored by Converse. This location is near downtown LA. Parking is confusing, but plenty. Once inside, the outdoor has enough space to have a food truck. Inside, the bathrooms are clean and far enough from any event you have. There is enough space for a party or any event of your liking. I'm considering having a party for myself. read more

The place is huge and the reason for my 2 stars rating. Make sure you bring cash for all your alcohol needs. I've been jacked here twice before. They will over charge you. The always use the smallest plastic cup. My drink is vodka and redbull is $13. The breakdown: Vodka - $11 Redbull - $2 They charge separate for the mixer. And when you close your tab, they will charge you extra drinks that you didn't buy. Bartenders are slow. I mean like Garfield slow. The smoking area is too effing bright. It's as if some UFO spotted that corner and directly pointed their own beaming light and start abducting human beings in groups. And if that were to happen, I will point out to take the security and bouncers first. Dim the light down a bit! read more

I attended a Cheesecake Presents event here and was really impressed with the venue. It was billed as a warehouse party but the lighting rig and sound system made this feel much more like a club event than a warehouse party. The fact that this place is raw enough to accommodate pretty hefty equipment like this is a testament to its versatility. I see from other reviews here that it's also been home to art and food events, but is mostly a music venue. There are two levels - a wide, open floor and a smaller balcony level, the stairs to which end at a bar in the middle of the room. There's a patio area outside that had some seating areas as well. On the night that I went the organizers had also set up valet parking in a nearby, tiny lot. In this part of town that was pretty welcome, even if the $8 price tag seemed pricey for the surroundings. But for the notes about how shady this area is, it's also home to what seems to be a lot of underground parties...making it fairly well-traveled late at night and not as unsafe-feeling as you might imagine. When the party ended at 4am I was about to go to another party down the street, what deterred me was not the area itself (several people could be seen walking the streets, none of them transients) but the fact that two cop cars were parked right outside the venue. Really cool spot! I went here to see Nicole moudaber. Amazing set, Pure techno! The sound quality was really good, the dancefloor space is fairly big. There's also an upstairs balcony that overlooks the dancefloor (the best part is anyone can access this balcony- no VIP required). There's a huge outdoor patio if you need to take a break to get some fresh air. The venue itself is great. The layout could not be better! This is an awesome place for REAL music lovers! No bullshit, no glitz and glamour, just true fans who are there for the music. One star deducted for the lame ass security. Everywhere you look there's a security guard. What a buzzkill. How am I supposed to let loose when there's 5 narcs surrounding me, watching my every move? #badvibes. They really need to cut down on the security and then this place would get a solid 5 stars. read more

It's a massive raw space, with all the licensing needed, that is perfect for holding a proper Art Show and/or Music Event!...The staff that runs LOT 613 (Premiere Events) have been nothing but great to me... Went to an event hosted by Das Bunker, Droid Behavior, and Mount Analog last night and the film screening and DJ sets were excellent. My entire experience was ruined by the excessive and draconian security personnel. I swear there must have been one security guard for every five guests. It was a low key event, but they would hover around uncomfortably close although were doing nothing suspicious. They were so close, it was as if they were trying to eavesdrop on our conversations. There was a film screening with limited seating and many of us tried to sit on the floor but were promptly approached by security to stand up. There is absolutely no outdoor seating either. This is pretty insensitive to any guests that may have physical limitations preventing them from standing for long periods of time. ANYWAY, THE ACTUAL REASON I'M WRITING THIS POST: When I entered the venue, I showed my ID and the bouncer checked my purse. I keep my prescription medication, which I take daily, in a pill case on my keychain. He told me I could not bring them in unless I could prove they were my own prescription. I understood completely so I asked a security guard, a black man named Mark, to hold onto them for me until after the show. When I left, I asked a large white security guard to help me find Mark. He told me Mark had already left but he would try to find if he left them with someone else. He returned shortly with my pill case and I thanked him. When I returned home, to my dismay, I found that several of my pills were missing. If anyone from management is reading this, someone needs to get fired. My medication is a psychiatric Schedule II drug, which means whoever stole them committed a misdemeanor or even a felony. Excuse my language but that's f*cked up and inexcusable. Please give me an explanation. read more

My cousin had her wedding at this venue and thought her wedding was a 5 star, my experience of this place was just ok. outdoor area - not much shade - many soft spots in the ground and my heel often got stuck in it. - uneven floor made me trip a few times. indoor area - spacious - 2 floors - bathroom needs lots of work... food I am unsure who prepared the food but the appetizers going around outside was better than the food they served inside. read more

Interesting venue, pretty much just 2 warehouse spaces. It works, could do with more segmenting as the wide open spaces make it seem like there is less to it than there could be. Nice little loft area near the bathrooms. Good for events. I was here for Pancakes & Booze underground art show night. The art wasn't nearly as underground as i'd expected, but there was some good stuff. Parking is an issue, there isn't nearly enough lot or nearby street parking for a full venue situation. Best option is to park to the east of Lot 613 (not sure what street). To the west is very shady, quiet, fairly abandoned warehouse district.... where I parked. Cannot say it felt like the most sound idea, but i survived. I was literally the only person in the area and I would not advise it unless you are driving a police cruiser. read more

I have been attending events for many years at Lot 613. Overall, I like the place and they have a lot of really good art and music events. It's a nice warehouse vibe. I have complaints with a few things that are noticible to many people besides me. I have also heard other friends of mine complaining about these three issues... 1) For entry, this venues staff does not seperate lines for general admission vs prepurchased ticket holders. This is a major problem when its freezing outside and its a popular event. Example - NYE Minimal Effort event. There was only one line for thousands of people standing in the freezing cold. 2) There is no air flow in the warehouses. Although they clearly have an air conditioning and air/heater system in place. They are too cheap to use it! Thus, when there is a large event and people are dancing it becomes humid and very hot. Its very uncomfortable for people. Or its very cold inside and out. No comfort or air regulation here! 3) There are NO places to sit down and rest. And if you try to sit against the wall on the floor, a bouncer will tell you to get up. This is very wrong and one of my friends will not come back because of this. She has leg problems and has to sit down to rest. Not going to happen here. No sitting for you! This is very stupid and has no reasoning to prevent people from sitting down. This place wants to give you an underground vibe. Yet with so many problems and rules, you might as well go elsewhere. read more

I just attended an event at Lot 613. I've got to hand it to the people responsible for choosing the venue -- it was a perfect, more legal alternative to the usual warehouses underground raves are held at. I think there was a lot you could pay for, but we found street parking. The area is pretty abandoned and seems a little shady, but it's really not that bad. Inside, there is a main area that is air conditioned (THANK YOU), a courtyard area, and another room in the back that is...not air conditioned. Actually, the back room seems to lack any kind of ventilation at all. Throw a hundred people dancing in there and you have yourself a sauna! Then again, that night was hotter than usual, so it probably wouldn't be that bad otherwise. The outside is pretty, with lights strung across the building and seats to relax. There was a bar outside, along with a food stand (not sure if hired by the promoters or if they came with the venue). Water was reasonably priced (for a club) at $3 a bottle, but they did not have cups of water. I guess you have to make a larger margin of profit somehow. Although the venue was pretty great for this particular event, I would like to note that the outside security that Lot 613 hires is sort of clueless. My friend rolled his ankle while dancing, so I went to ask a security guard where first aid was, and if there were extra chairs. He had no idea! Asking two more security guards met with similar "Uh...there's no first aid that I know of...just ask the bar for some ice?" One would think that they would brief them on where the freaking first aid is located before an event, right?! Since I could not rely on apparently anyone who was there working for the venue, we had to find on our own the lone EMT hanging out underneath the stairs outside. After he got his ankle on ice and wrapped, suddenly that area was positively SWARMING with security! They questioned us on how exactly he rolled his ankle and if we were there to witness it, and concluded by snapping multiple pictures of the injury and his shoe (?!). Dudes, chill. If my friend already told you how he hurt himself, you don't need to cross-examine everyone else to ensure that you won't get sued. Also I am pretty sure they assigned a guard to watch him extra carefully, because I noticed him hovering around all the time while we were dancing, and he followed us out a bit when we left and told us to take it easy. Ok thanks man, we will make sure none of us gets injured again on the premises... TL;DR Good venue for something raw and industrial, security is kind of weird. read more

Love this place! Best events, space & great service. Every event, party & concert that I have been to here has been amazing. I go here a lot for many events hosted by different people & producers, and all have been great (only had one bad time here... but it had nothing to do with the place, but because of a grumpy person in our group of friends that ruined the night for all of us)... I even went to a wedding / reception here & it was like night & day from the dance/festival events... the decor for the wedding (which was outside on the patio just before sunset) & reception (which was inside after) was so beautiful, that I forgot I was just in the same space a couple weeks before for a Skrillex show filled to the max with partiers & strobe lighting. Amazing... Love spaces that can convert so easily like that. The space itself, is large and simple, but the ceiling is high & is a lot of wood beams & so on, so for like the wedding I attended it added a lot of character to the decor they added & for dance events it feels way larger than it is with the high ceilings. Sound quality is really good and I love that there is huge outdoor area to converse away from the music if you like. Bar prices are usually always reasonable (depends on the event, etc) & one of the few places that hold huge events where the staff is actually really nice & friendly. No complaints from me as of yet on anything about this place and I have been going here for well over 6+ years for all different kinds of events as I stated above. I would recommend going here for any event and if you are planning an event... it is a great space to do so. A++ read more

I love this industrial venue, very large smoking area in the back and the funktion one soundsystem is the biznesss ! full bar and decent security. perfect place for dubstep / drum n bass / electro / industrial / hiphop / grime/ tardbot or anything worthy of a serious soundsystem. 4 year anniversary of Smog with 12th planet was pretty kickass I say stay at the bar if you have no appreciation for electronic music. I don't really review spots and I generally understand the aspects of the job aren't easy but security didn't let me in bc they thought I was too intoxicated. Fair enough. I thought I was understanding of their initial assessment and tried to make it right but they weren't having it. Can't really blame the guys on security duty but I wish they at least could have given me a definite no to get in when I tried to wait and show I was ok. When I tried to make it right and tried to demonstrate I was wasn't too messed up to enjoy the the music and dance floor, they didn't honor their original statement that I could get in after I waited a bit. lol @Al C.! This place is something of a ghetto. haha. If you show up with a valuable car though, they had valet. I came here for the Underground art show and it was good and fun. It was too busy as time passed though. The lines for everything (bodypaint, food, photobooth) just grew and grew from like a 10min wait to 30min before I bailed for the night, and that was only probably halfway through the night. I'm also afraid that this place being so openly reviewed on yelp is gonna make it lose its Underground flavor. But we wanna know what we're getting ourselves into, right? For a club, I'm not sure I'd like the industrial feel this place has. I haven't like it before. However, having the upstairs loft thing is cool. read more

I've been to Lot 613 only a handful of times, but between the eclectic crowd it attracts, the bass filled music that emanates from their speakers and the overall feel of their events - I couldn't pick a better place to throw an underground event. The first time I came through was a party thrown by Smog a few years back - it basically felt like a warehouse rave, and I loved it! The industrial feel of the venue adds to the total ambiance of the events and it totally works. There are a few different areas to get down and dancey, including a nice upstairs lounge where you can watch all the mayhem that's happening on the dance floor. The outside leaves a little bit to be desired: there's so much space, and you could do so much with it! Prime example: at RECYCLE the other week, there was live welding and a DJ outside making perfect use of all the space. If they could get some seating and lounge action going on outside the place would be golden. The people that frequent these events are fabulous and fun loving, you're always guaranteed a great time here. read more

Pros: cool atmosphere, indoor and outdoor areas, no VIP BS, stays open late, the police won't shut you down Cons: out-of-the-way location (not near other venues/bars/public trans), disorganized security and event staff, cash bar under $20 (sigh... why yes, I'll have a second tequila shot), no seating/coat check Basically, I've seen better, but I wouldn't skip a show if it happened to be here. Emphasis on the staff issues. I've never seen an event here run well. One example is the Minimal Effort 2014 NYE, for which thousands of people stood in line in the "cold" (including ticket holders) until 11:55PM because no one could figure out how to scan tickets. read more

Large space in an industrial part of town with a lot of potential. Checked it out for the last night of the Winter Wonderland event and I was greeted with a large gated parking lot set up with lounge couches and food/bar. Inside the main space is a the main warehouse and an upper loft where the bathrooms are situated. Adjacent is another lower ceilinged warehouse space. All were sparsely filled with art and a beginner experimental shamisen player was performing. Not the safest place to walk around at night - both for the ladies and gents - so go in a group or take a cab. Nearby it's all industrial but Church and State along with Little Bear and Pour House are around the corner in an up and coming converted warehouse loft district. read more

Don't do business or support events at Lot 613!!! They are 1 block from the LA River, and they were caught them spilling massive amounts of paint leftover from an event down the street drain. The person contacted the Fire Department and they sent out a truck and started an investigation. This was not a small paint spill either; we're talking about multiple buckets of lots of colors. They made no attempt to clean it up until the person called the EPA and Fire Department and filed the complaint. See photos on this yelp page for evidence of the spill and the LAFD response... Great layout - two separate rooms plus a pretty large outdoor area. Great acoustics and sound, and more security than I've ever seen at an event (a good thing, if a little militaristic). Parking is ample - street & private lot - and the area has gentrified so fast I felt comfortable walking around the neighborhood at 3:30am. Good setup and fun spot for a party. read more

I used to come here a lot back in 08 and 09 for a bunch of dubstep and dnb shows. I loved this place. It was somewhat small considering it would get crazy packed in there. Had an outdoor area and had small bar. Also had an upstairs seating area but I don't think many people even went up there. I guess I'm mainly rating this place based on the rad ass time I would have there. There would be live art sometimes and even food outside. I love this place. I wish they held more shows here like the ones back then, they were fucking AWESOME! read more

This venue has a major identity crisis. It's posing as a cool underground warehouse party but in reality is a douche-y nightclub. Rather than issues getting in, we had a lot of trouble getting out of this place. Somehow I dealt with 4 (FOUR!) incompetent staff members in my journey to the center of the earth - I mean, journey trying to leave this dirty warehouse club. One security guard directed us to the exit on the patio, where we were greeted by a second security guard manning that exit. He told we could not exit that way (heavens knows why) and directed us to the entrance we came in that was back inside and across the club. We then walked to the entrance to which we were directed to leave from. We were stopped by a third bouncer who told us we had to return to the exit we previously tried to leave from! At this point we were extremely exasperated. We told him we weren't willing to play body ping pong across the club and back and he needed to let us out of the property immediately. The door was literally right in front of us anyways. He ignored our complaint and tried to physically block us. We darted around him and made it outside. He must have said something over the walkie talkies they use as we were greeted by a fourth security guard or manager or something, who actually scolded us for exiting the wrong way! AND he also accused us of pushing his bouncer! First of all 1) all we were trying to do was escape and leave 2) The staff/security guards do not communicate and are not trained 3) Also they're dicks 4) At least one of them is a baby - actually trying to get us in 'trouble' for 'pushing' him - a lie and what a joke! When we chewed out the fourth guy who scolded us like children, he tried to threaten us and we were like ALL WE ARE DOING IS TRYING TO LEAVE. NOW WE WILL NEVER COME BACK. THANK YOU AND GOODBYE. Final word: Guess what, when you don't let your guests leave your establishment that's holding people hostage and is also a fire hazard. read more

been here only once, so i'll keep it short and simple. carpool to this location because parking is a b***h. the venue is nice a small...not too big but there is a small loft on top for a few artist to display their works. the bottom main floor was cover to the top of the wall with different artist. a band/dj played in the middle. I didn't get any drinks but the bar seemed to be alright. The outside lot in the back was huge and unused for the most part aside from some artist and a crafts table serving free pancakes. A hour at most to lounge and look at different pieces of art and grab some pancakes and you're pretty much done. Not a bad venue, but more of a stop off before you go and eat somewhere local. p.s. the art on the outside of the venue was awesome...spend a couple of minutes to look at that. if its still there when you read this and if you don't mind standing in an area that looks like you'll be mugged in about 5 minutes. :) read more

He sure did stomp his feet while throwing a tantrum and starting pulling out the sound. Just because one female bartender (who was also my bartender for the night and she was totally pleasant) and security wrecked HIS birthday, he had to call it quilts for everyone else? There were many other peoples birthdays being celebrated that night, so you sure did pay it forward by calling it quits on everyone else and wrecking their birthdays too. I would never hire "skunk sound." Usually it's the vice squad that shuts down a party. This time it's the sound guy. read more

Good venue. I've been here for a couple of hosted events and I like how this venue feels and looks different every time. It's a great space so I did some research because I was considering it for an event of my own. I didn't mind the location; this place is exactly where it needs to be and although there is no parking lot of its own, there is street parking. If you are planning your own event, this can be hit and miss. There are surrounding businesses and depending on what's going on there could be zero parking to take a pick of street to park in. The one reason I did not end up choosing this space is because you have to use their own caterer - I looked into doing so, but it was way too pricey. There is an option to buy them out, I think it was $2,000, but that much for nothing in return is kinda pricy too. I do have to say though that the people they hire to staff their events are phenomenal. read more

Love this place! I have been here for several different kinds of events from weddings to day parties to evening get downs. They do a great job of transforming this place to fit every event. I will admit my favorite events are the prototype parties. Great sound, atmosphere and they usually always have a food vendor for late night munchies. read more

This is a wonderful multi-functional venue. I have been to several events here and am always amazed at how different it looks each time. The patio is a great feature that is missing from so many places in LA. You could dress it up for a wedding, do an art show, night club or any other kind of event here and they would all be a great success. read more
