We were right next to the road so it's very noisy. We had no problems and like I said we enjoyed being near the Riverwalk, but the noise because I am a light sleeper I would most likely not stay again. My husband slept fine.

They have alot of activities you can do here like the playground, basketball court, tennis court, swings, a nice trail around the lake and many ducks around. They were really cute and thankfully they never messed with us. The park has plenty of parking and everyone I spoke with were really friendly. I even liked how the park have plenty of seats and benches you can sit and relax on. Overall this was a fun day trip and plan to come back here in the near future.

Get there before 11 and you'll find yourself a nice spot. Bring what you need and don't expect picnics tables or grills. No bathroom either. The drive under the bridge can be a little rough. Parking is limited and it can get packed. We left at 3 and the one lane road was difficult to maneuver with cars trying to go in and out. The river water was perfect. It's not clear, but it sure was refreshing. The river is shallow. Nice to sit on a tube or in a chair. They offer tubing, but I didn't try it. In the area we were at, there were a few ropes kids were jumping off from. Shade is limited.

It was our first time visiting, and Tina and Karen went above and beyond for us more than once. They were incredibly kind, helpful, and genuinely made us feel welcome. The campground is exceptionally clean, and you can tell they've put a lot of thought into every detail. There are so many little touches throughout the property that make your stay more comfortable--things most campgrounds simply don't think of. Those small details really set this place apart. I probably called the office well over 20 times with random questions while we were there, and although I felt a little needy, they never once made me feel like I was bothering them. Rockin'R River Rides had a nice set up. They do seem to nickel and dime you a bit. $15 for parking,…read more$25 for a cooler float tube which is what the going rate per person is. They have an air conditioned portable bathroom trailer that is decent. 6 stalls in the women's room and they were fairly clean. The summer heat had them smelling a little funky, but I'm not sure what can be done to fix that. The staff was friendly. The school bus ride back to the starting point after the float was nostalgic. For a moment, it took me back to feeling like we were on a school field trip. We definitely see ourselves coming back but at least bringing our own floats for our coolers to cut down on the expense. We had a large group with 2 coolers so it was $50 just to bring our coolers along.

They do have a decent size portable bathroom, which was nice. My only complaint is that they should keep the water on inside them a little longer. We got back to the beginning around 4:30 and went to use the bathroom before heading out, but the water was already turned off. The float itself was actually painful. There are SO many rocks that you constantly hit and scrape your rear end against, and it gets pretty uncomfortable after a while. I'm not sure if I'll be back to this location just because this particular section was so rocky. Overall, it was fun, but definitely bring some extra money and be prepared for a rocky ride!

This small park is located next to Ruby City. The park is small and doesn't take long to explore…read more It was created to commemorate philanthropist and artist Linda Pace's son, Christopher Goldsbury, who died of an overdose when he was 25. On the day I visited, there weren't many people in the area, which made for a quiet and peaceful visit. The landscaping and design added to the serenity of the place. In addition to the landscaping, there were a few visual structures that were created to augment the park's experience: the Starfield, lights that brighten up the park at night, the Journal Benches, with writings taken from Chris's journal, and Wednesday's Child, glass circles embedded into the pavement with sayings from a popular nursery rhyme. You can also see one of Ruby City's exhibits from the park. Chris Park is the perfect stop for a quick break during the day.

Skip forward ten years and the change was amazing! Nice big spring fed pool (then) with ancient giant cypress trees lining the sides. The park grounds had been revitalized and a pavilion added. Also interesting is this strange but serene mound (I think it's called a grotto) with water filtering through it. It only cost $1,'25 to swim if you wanted and yes the bathhouses had been reconstructed. They're kept pretty clean, too. Also note: this is the second oldest public park in the United States. Very profound.
