I was determined to build my own paver walkway and ambled into Willamette Graystone after seeing…read morestacks of pavers in front of their shop. They have amazing displays of all the pavers they sell so you know exactly what color each is and how it looks all put together. Justin was incredibly patient tending to lots of customers and answering my questions. I went home armed with a catalog that showed all the pavers and suggested patterns. A few days later, I went back with the measurements of my wooden frames. Justin sat down with his calculator and calculated the number of pavers and various types of sand and base material I needed. After I finished putting it all together, I was amazed to have less than 5 pavers and one bag of sand left! If you are willing to do the work, these folks can head you in the right direction so things turn out nicely. Sometimes construction folks are annoyed to have women ask for help, but everyone there was friendly and patient with my questions. Very good humored group of guys.

I will not be using these people again. Not only did they tske three times as long as they quoted…read moreme, they tried to overcharge me, and overall they did a aweful job. The lady running the show is a joke. She showed up wasted, and was extremely rude. They did a horrible job on my gutters, they did not cut them or seal them properly so i had to have a new company come out less than a month later. And to top it all of, i have recently learned some disgusting ews about the owner and his past. I honestly think its probably in everyone's best interest to do a background check on the owner of this business. He's got a pretty lengthy record and if you have kids at home it's probably not the best choice. I did not do this prior to hiring them and regret it.

These guys re-sided my house in 2013, chosen for their affordable price and promised turnaround…read moretime of five days. While the end result looks fine, the process was a long, drawn-out nightmare spanning three painful MONTHS. The project went on so long I even had a homeless camper sleeping on my porch, thinking the house was abandoned (though I was actually living there the whole time). I'd come home to find the workers wandering around smoking cigarettes and talking on their cell phones, complaining about how hard the work was. (As my neighbor pointed out, they never had to lift more than ten pounds max.) Someone had scrawled "Megan" in giant letters with permanent marker on the side of the house, and after weeks of coming home to this I inquired; apparently it was a hairdresser recommendation. Things were broken: the irrigation system, the fence, even the brand new sidewalk (chipped in two places by a drill), and the repairs ended up looking worse than the original damage. By the time they were wrapping up, they'd forgotten which cables to cut, and instead of asking, they just nailed them all back up on the brand new siding. One guy they brought in for a day stuffed his cigarette butts in the wall, so my bedroom smelled like an ashtray for ages. Bleck! That was seriously disgusting. Four years later, there is still an occasional toxic smell from whatever noxious adhesive that guy used. Jasen and Gary were knowledgeable, polite and professional, but they over-promised and under-delivered. In the end, their profuse apologies and even the small discount they agreed to didn't make up for the inconvenience of having a porta-potty, dumpster and loads of supplies/equipment on my small property for all that time, not to mention missed work days and Airbnb opportunities. They obviously have many a satisfied customer; I just wouldn't take that as a guarantee that you will have as positive an experience. I certainly would not consider using them again.

I waited a couple of weeks so that I could be fair with this review, because I was a bit annoyed…read morewith them. This could've been a 5-star review. Pros: ========================== -Everyone I met at Kaminski was friendly and professional. -They did the work I contracted with them to do in a fairly short period of time. -When the guys came to do the job they did quality work, in a very professional manner. -When they left, I even considered contacting them to replace the old galvanized pipe in my house sometime over the next year. I actually mentioned it to their carpenter before he left. That outcome seems unlikely now for the reasons that follow. -Once I posted my review I got a call asking how I could be more satisfied. I realize I am not their only client, and don't consider my job to be any more important than anyone else's. This said, I appreciate the effort. -I did get a refund for them for... something. Not sure what it was for. (See my last "Con" item. Cons: ========================== -We were told that they would charge half the bid in deposit, then they charged the whole thing. In fairness they reversed this charge. -My only sincere complaint is the opacity of their billing. Don't get me wrong. they gave me a VERY detailed estimate and - as I mentioned in the first part of my review - they sent me a partial refund of the initial charge. Gosh this is going to sound like I am complaining just to complain, but hear me out. The real issue is I have not yet received a detailed explanation of exactly what I was charged for. When I spoke to the company I was told that prep work went longer than expected, and was told I would get a detailed invoice. Look, I am not going to quibble over the price. I am not looking for a refund I am not due. The fact is I signed the contract, but I want to know where the money went. That is all. They did great work, and I now more than trust them. Conclusion: ==================== First impressions matter fair or not. The final assessment is, though I would work with them again, I just want to a receipt. Their bids are detailed enough that this should be doable.

The installers were also friendly and efficient. They are happy to send you home with lots of samples and you can keep them for a while, taking the time to make the right decision. Tile-setters from a contracted company also did a beautiful job of the tile backsplash. They accidentally scratched the countertops with the tiles, and McKenzie kindly sent some reps in to buff out the scratches for free, which I appreciated. The only thing to be aware of is that their showroom boasts a larger selection of countertops and stone than tile; they do have several major suppliers and access to samples, which they can order for you. But it's worth knowing that they seem to really specialize in stone and solid surface. If they have the tile you want, you couldn't pick a better company to work with.
