There is also a playground for the young one and a horse pit next to it. There is also a deer corn feeder out back which you might get lucky enough to see deer through out the day. The beds are all incredibly comfortable...even the pull out sofa is a memory foam mattress!! The grounds are fantastic including privacy, shade, firepits/grills, and swings on each cabin. Then there's the pool+pavilion area that was just put in. Once that area is fully done it will be even more magical. When considering places to stay in Concan, I HIGHLY recommend Hunters Ridge Cabins.

"Quatro Cantina" was the property name. The stay was completely regrettable. We stayed there Nov 2022. I was hosting this years annual camping trip... 7 different couples including my husband and I. There were holes in the walls... stress cracks all over. The septic system backed up causing the toilets to leak out onto the floor. We had to use our personal towels to keep the leak from spreading as toiletries are not provided. Sewer water backed up into all three of the tubs at the same time. Management was able to fix the issue that night leaving filthy bathrooms behind so we were accommodated by being given the opportunity to shower next door at a vacant rental. The bathrooms would be deep cleaned the next day. Upon returning from our hiking trip the following day, only two of the bathrooms were cleaned, leaving the same gross shower curtains liners behind and one with no liner. This was also the first night that temperatures got into the 40's at night. We had to use the oven to warm the house because the thermostat was locked on the "cool" setting and we had no access to heat. We were given a PIN number that didn't work... we were next told that the owner of the house was a new owner and older and didn't know how to adjust the temp from her phone. It was figured out the next day so that we could have heat. I had to continue to apologize to my friends for what was out of my control and dampened our entire experience. At $500 per night, I expected slightly better than this. I was further insulted by a $100 refund from the owner out of the $1800 spent. Laughable.

Their response to my feedback lacked any accountability: Thank you for letting us know. This place isn't for everyone. However, thousands love us so we will trudge on! Feedback to Neal's: We had a reservation for cabin #2 for July 13-17. I expected the cabin to be small and rustic, but I did not expect the cabin to be dirty. The floor didn't look like it had been cleaned in a while. The bedside table next to the bed on the right has a recessed design along the outer perimeter of the top that was full of dirt. The bathroom was also dirty, especially the floor behind the toilet. The AC was very loud. The bed closest to the AC unit was tilted such that the head was lower than the feet. Lastly, the customer service was lacking. In my cabin and my daughter's cabin (#3), there were nice, clean, and relatively new frigs. However, the person who installed them, hung the doors, so they opened to the bed and not the kitchen. I know for a fact that the doors could be hung either way. When I asked the door to be changed, I was told it can't be done. What that meant is that it was not going to be fixed. This seemed to be an unreasonable answer. Hopefully, y'all will make the effort to get the refrigerator doors hung correctly. My family chose to stay at Neal's' on the recommendation of my adult granddaughter, who had stayed in a 3-bedroom cabin for a number of summers with a friend and the friend's family. We will not be staying at Neal's again.

If the price ONLINE is a mistake the person in charge should honor the price that was booked..right? Not in this case with my family!! The date and price was set for a specific date and 2 WEEKS LATER my family gets a phone call that the price was a mistake after we were charged the deposit. Even after the company made a rude comment " YOU AND ALL THE PEOPLE FROM UVALDE SUCK" we tried to negotiate with the company FOR THEIR MISTAKE, but instead the company cancelled our reservation even after we told them we still wanted to think about booking even with the price increase. Please consider another company when booking..this was very unprofessional and rude. (only 1 star because i could post without a rating)

RUN away! Bob and his wife should not be in the hospitality business!! I have never written a bad…read morereview before but I've sat on how to type this one for 4 days! Bob and his wife showed no remorse for the bug infestation and cleanliness issues we had at Away at the River. This was supposed to be a "newly renovated, modern home" and 4 different people told us we were the first to stay at the house since the renovation. It was VERY obvious this was true! The house was never properly cleaned and we arrived to messy floors, bugs, no wifi, and noisy AC units. Don't get me started on the check-in/check-out process that says you will receive 5-star service and a PHYSICAL KEY. I drove 34 miles out of the way to GET A DIGITAL KEY CODE that should have been sent to me in an email. The expectation was I drive back to the office to check-out!! That's almost 70 extra miles, absolutely insane!!! Bob was not prepared for me to check-in, had the office locked, provided ridiculous verbal directions to the house, and said "if you don't have AT&T you're screwed". On our first night (at midnight), we discovered the window AC unit in the upstairs bedroom was improperly installed resulting in the ceiling and walls being covered with hundreds of gnats! Please zoom in on the ceiling photos because gnats are tiny bugs and really hard to capture on 10 foot ceilings. I called early the next morning to report my concerns and was met with no remorse and was forced to solve my own issues. I was given an ultimatum "to leave with a full refund or stay, get a service call, and talk about a refund with the owners". Who drives 2 hours, makes plans in that town for the holiday weekend, to just be told to leave? This house barely met our basic needs - a shower and roof over our heads. Not all the showers drained correctly but this was fixed during our stay. The WiFi had to be completely rewired at 9am Saturday morning because it wasn't properly checked prior to our arrival. The wire was chewed by a rat but we were accused of messing it up because "it worked up until now" - per Bob's wife. At check out, Bob belittled me while all 8 of us listened to him go OFF on speaker phone. Never again!
