I am very upset about how they conducted procedures and paperwork. It made me feel suspicious that something bad happened there. For example: I was given paperwork AFTER the doctor came to see my chart. There was a long series of statements to initial. They all started with "I VOLUNTARILY" submit to... (I all caps for emphasis). One of the statements asked me to "agree that all my questions about the procedure were answered." I didn't know what could go wrong. Doctor had already left. I told the nurse my concern; he said the doctor would be coming back. Dr Triveti (partial owner of the facility) never came back. There's also things like the privacy and other signatures . I am pretty sure one said they would use any photos any was they wanted--it was a release. I signed those in an exhausted state after 1 1/2 days of pooping and liquid diet. I filled out a lot of papers online before the colonoscopy. Why couldn't they have sent me links to review the information BEFORE the day of the procedure? No informed consent of any kind. Very suspicious. Here was my choice when they said they were ready for me: 1. Not doing the procedure after 1 1/2 days of pooping, liquid diet, and 2 nights of no sleep. 2. Just sign everything, and get it done. In my exhausted state, I chose the second. I have been having pain since the colonoscopy. Severe cramping, especially the next day. It wasn't until I spoke to the nurse, that called the next day, who told me why. Apparently they had to push the camera/scope in with extra pressure. Why didn't someone tell me this right after I woke up from the procedure? Four days later, that I am still having pain. I was going to give one star, but I gave an extra star for the helpful nurses. I hope Dr Triveti makes some changes to this facility. I don't want to go back. read more

Very disappointed with the post operative care. My elderly father had surgery, and he absolutely should have stayed overnight. He was sent home with a litany of instructions and a catheter, he needed a ton of assistance that we felt completely unqualified to help with. Very scary for us and him. Was told to be back the next day early morning, medi-cal will pay for overnight, there is no excuse for them to send him home why risk a patients safety like that?? read more

This review applies to the Surgicenter staff, my Doc, Nurses, et al.: 10 stars of 5--can't give them enough praise and gratitude. Exceptional experience, pre-op, op, post-op. Answered questions, anticipated needs, and addressed concerns above and beyond. I'm not much for needles and they handled it like pros. I felt I was in great hands throughout. _____ Billing: Oh lawdy--complete nightmare. -10 of 0 stars. They're rude, unhelpful, supervisors unavailable (they're there all right they, you can hear them in the background refusing to get involved). They back date to the date of service not the date of billing, threaten collection after you get the bill, not even 10 days after you get your first statement in the US Mail, of all things (by then you're pushing 60 days after the date of service--SURPRISE! How do you pay a bill you don't know you have/no amount known? Come on, that's unreasonable--they don't care. They'll sit there and repeat a script over and over like a robot). The bill paying portal doesn't show how much you owe. They don't offer payment plans that don't attach your bank account, (in this day and age that's absolutely reckless). The most fun is when they refuse to acknowledge payments made even when you read off the payment transaction ID. Billing is the 14th circle'a hell. read more

My surgery was great here and recovery in the room was the worst. I am so glad I brought my own medicine. I am an Epileptic and they had it all wrong in there computer. I brought pictures of all my medications and they had to correct it when I first checked in. I thought it was all fixed. Why would that happen. In the room after surgery it was on the computer correctly yet the poor nurse kept receiving the amount wrong and the time of day. The pharmacist never sent it right so my own pills saved me. Then when I had a simple seizure in my room my nurses just freaked out and didn't know what to do but locked me up in my bed. I told them it was just my simple seizure. They kept saying it was something else. How does anybody know me better than my self. I didn't allow this and forced my way out to go to the bathroom. Bad experience both in the Los Robles Hospital and the SurgiCenter. I am going to bring my own medicine all the time now I don't care what they say this is my life not there's. read more

Way back when The SurgiCenter was a Great Place. But as of Recent views on it as of today: The Really need to get their shit together, Starting with The Recovery Nurses. They told me that my husband would be ready in 5 minutes, 5 minutes came and went so I had to call them back then they tell me that the patient has to pee before he's able to leave (which they should've told me that when they call and he's ready to pick up. So I told them I'll be waiting to call me and let me know. I was waiting over an hour, that is totally Unacceptable!! read more

This Surgicenter has the absolute worse billing center I've ever had to experience. I had surgery here and while my doctor was good, the administrative process of paying my bill was a nightmare. They sent me a bill by mail with no way of paying online. The website listed on the letter was not functional, no one ever picked up the phone, nor returned my calls no matter how many messages I left. I had to resort to finding their website online through Google and found out the telephone number on the bill sent, didn't even match the telephone number on their website. No one picked up on the new number, or returned my calls again and I was finally left to pay my bills without any of my questions answered on a sketchy website that made me super nervous about their security. It was that, or have my debt sent to collection as they threatened on the follow-up mail sent to me. Overall, I'd give their administrative office a big fat zero star if I could. Will not be coming back here, or recommending to my friends and family. read more

Not so great experience here. Before my surgery, I learned about some dispute with my doctor where they wanted to reschedule my surgery to a different day due to a staffing shortage. Reception was helpful and friendly, though the waiting room is a bit off-putting. I guess it's better than having an aquarium with dead fish in it though, like they used to have. I received a nice phone call with all of the pre-op information I needed. It went downhill from there. Pre-Op care was bad. I was a nervous wreck for this surgery and the staff was far from empathetic. In fact, they made it much worse. One woman in particular (whom I have already spoken to management about) was problematic. She second guessed the ability of another nurse to take my weight properly (critical for anesthesia dose) and loudly and proudly kept saying over and over that my records were mixed up with another patient's. She said this at least 4 times in front of me. This made me angry and I nearly walked out scared for my health and safety. When I met with the surgery RN, I told her that I felt my nightmares were coming true and she went through all of the paperwork with me to make sure the paperwork was corrected. The anesthesiologist they hired did not want to be there that morning and it showed in his attitude. He spoke to me like I was an MD, not a patient. Recovery was much better. The nurse that cared for me was good, though he also kind of seemed like he just didn't want to be there. That was the overall theme of the staff. I am left wondering if this was the result of the staffing shortage and/or something that happened between the surgeon's office and this surgery center that was being taken out on me. Overall, Pre-Op was totally uncaring and entirely unprofessional. Recovery was much better, but I hope I don't have to use this place again. 2 stars for surviving the surgery, 1 more for recovery room. Nothing more. read more

If you look at all the negative reviews - the one common thread - the billing is horrible. From over billing to not issuing timely refunds to not explaining charges. The doctors and nurses are top notch but the billing is way sub-par. read more

Had a colonoscopy there. Very nice and professional staff there. On a humorous note, I was already in a gown and hooked up to an IV when I felt the urge to use restroom. An orderly helped me out of bed and said to take my 'dancing partner' (IV on wheels) with me. He said the the bathroom was at the end of hallway, past all these nurses that were busy doing this and that. About halfway down the hallway, a young nurse said 'hold on, let me make you more modest' and properly tied up my gown so my butt cheek wasn't hanging out. Funny! read more

I have to start with Ms. May at the front desk, she was so sweet and caring which put my anxiety at ease. Next, my pre-op, OR, and post-op nurses were amazing to say the least. So its 5:30 am, we are driving in the rain to get Elizabeth here for shoulder surgery we finally arrive at 6 am there were several other people there too but the staff was swift and got everyone checked in and into the little prep rooms. The anesthesiologist cam in set the IV talked with us about the problems with anesthesia then the nurse came in got her in the gown and wheeled her of to surgery. I had 3 hours to kill so I went out and gave a couple of Uber Rides might as well make some money while I waited. The doctor called me around 9AM and he told me how the procedure went and said she was done and I could come and get here in a bit. I drove back over to the surgicenter and was brought back to recovery where she was awake and being attended to by here RN Cynthia M. after getting the run down from Cynthia it was about 15 minutes later we were on the way home. Now the nice thing is we have been to several surgicenter in the past but none were as nice and professional as Los Robles they treated both Elizabeth and Myself with such care and kindness. Everyone here was so professional and friendly! Everything was explained very well each step of the way. I had to wait awhile before surgery after getting my j wire inserted at a different facility, and everyone was very accommodating with warm blankets, a movie to watch, and some Tylenol for a headache. I ended up having to have a surgery done after a gymnastic trick went horribly wrong in the living room. I went to an orthopedic surgeon and getting out of surgery was not an option. Our surgeon told us that we would be going to Los Robles SurgiCenter. I was 17 years old and I had always equated hospital to people that we really sick or dying. I was very scared about having to have surgery. Monday morning at 4:30 we where driving to the hospital I had no breakfast and I was so nervous I could not even think about that. We went inside and the ladies at the front desk where so sweet. I had my phone and I was watching a movie to keep myself distracted. We went back to a room that had a recliner chair, I like having a stretcher more now that I have had more surgery. The nurse came in and started getting all the normal information and then gave me a gown to put on. I was thankful that I was allowed to have my mom with me to help. With one arm everything is much harder. The anesthesiologist came in and talked to my mom about what was going to happen. Then he gave me an IV I had no idea that was going to cause pain ouch. I was not super happy after that now that pain had occurred. The next person to come back was nurse Jackson he was going to be my OR nurse I was not super happy to have someone else come in at first no more pokes please. Everyone was kind and sweet and I was just so scared and nervous. Then a face that I knew came in and it was my Doctor Michal Vercillo. I looked up at him and knew I was going to be ok, he signed my collarbone that was broken and talked to my mom about what he was going to do. I was so worried that I just watched my movie. He left and then the OR Nurse came to get me and take me back. I got up with my arm that was in the sling. I gave my mom and hug and tears came down my cheeks. Me and the nurse walked backed to the OR. I had only ever seen one on a movie and not a happy place to be. I went in very slowly and then they helped me on to the table. The nurses all introduced themselves and then they had a timeout where they made sure they had the right person. Then all the stuff they did in the pre-opp room they redid. I was still in tears and was so sad, the nurse told me just a sec and ask the anesthesiologist to wait a sec. He came back with Dr.V he saw the tears and came over and talked to me. I had to take off my sling and lay down I had not been flat sense before my accident. I lookd up he had neon pink glasses just for me. The anesthesiologist gave me some grape gas and Dr. V held my hand as I was super scared and then asleep. I just remember him telling me something funny and then I was awaking up in a different room. I was in pain and I had a huge black sling with a ball and pillow on it. I was so confused and sad. The nurse was so kind and gave me a rooter slushy. Then my mom came back and we had to wait till I was much more awake. My mom said that get my clothing on was not easy task but the nurse was very helpful. I was then getting into the wheelchair and then in the car I went. That was a long tear-filled trip home. The road was so bumpy and not even. The nurse called that night to make sure I was doing ok and so did Dr.V the same day. For having my first surgery there was a ok experience for a small little surgical center. I have been great for now 6 years and I am thankful for the Nurses and the office staff that treated us all very well and helped us with a scary event. I still drive past there and remember all the feelings and am very thankful that that I have good memories about the place. read more

MINUS 5 stars! This SurgiCenter will ROB you blind. They REQUIRE payment upfront before billing your insurance by saying they already know what the insurance will pay. Once I got my insurance EOB there were surgicenter charges that my insurance did not cover. Of course, Pricilla, in billing did not inform me of that. She was extremely RUDE on the phone when I called prior to my surgery to ask to delay payment until my insurance paid out. This is pure dishonesty and the doctors who are "part owners" of this group should be ashamed! I have great insurance but this group has found some loophole to extort more money out of people! Extremely disappointed in the scheduler who made my appointed. She was extremely rude on the phone to me. Left a message, was again rude. When I finally spoke to her again rude. Not really sure why. I'd like to chalk it up to her having a bad day, since we all have one once in awhile. When I finally spoke to my doctors office they told me that they scheduled the appointed back in November directly with the Sugicenter. Sugicenter claims they just got the package from the doctor last week and they don't take my secondary insurance. (I do find that very odd since I had shoulder surgery there a few years back and nothing has changed. I did find this on their website) Well here it is in Jan. Major conflict in stories! Needless to say, I'm going to a different surgical center and will not using them again!! read more

Going in for any surgery can make anyone nervous. The staff there was WONDERFUL and calming my nerves and we joked around about turning it into a "spa" experience. They grabbed me covers to warm me up, socks, and even made the room a bit warmer for me...(how many places do that for you?? Especially when your gonna be knocked out in a while???) Staff will answer your questions and help allay your fears, and they work seamlessly to ensure you have a five-star patient experience. Doctors will explain to you--in lay terms--what they are doing and any post-op items they find. This is the 2nd time I have been here. The first time they were still doing renovation, but even with that going on it was still a smooth check in. Today was no different. Check in was smooth, the girl at the front was friendly and very efficient and got everyone checked in quickly. I got taken back to a small private room with a recliner for myself and a chair for my husband. My nurse came in (for the life of me I can't remember her name) and asked all of the standard questions they ask pre op. She gave me my gown and told me how to put it one and what I had to remove and what I could keep on. My anesthesiologist came in next. He asked if I had been in for surgery before and since I had he wanted to know if I had any issue before with anesthesia. I told him what we had found works well for me over the years and he told me what he generally does. The nurses were super busy since they had several patients show up late, so the anesthesiologist jumped in and set my IV to give them a hand. He didn't have to do that, but I thought it was nice. Even with all of the running around the entire staff was nice, warm and friendly. When I went into the surgery suite I was joking with the surgical staff, anesthesiologist and my surgeon. So as strange as that sounds, all of them made me feel comfortable in a time that could have been really stressful. In recovery, well how much do you really remember about recovery? Again I have no clue who my nurse was, but I do remember her being super nice. In fact she was the same nurse who had taken care of me the first time. I was well cared for, got graham crackers and juice :) and when I was feeling ok my nurse helped me get dressed my husband and I were given my care instructions, discharge paperwork and off we went. So twice now I have been to the Los Robles SurgiCenter and twice I have been treated with kindness and love by an amazing staff. I only wish they would sell those blankets with the vacuum hose to me. Super warm! The only problem I had was getting here. From the moment I checked in for my procedure to my discharge I felt completely comfortable and well informed. The staff here are wonderful, kind, and very professional. I had full faith that at all times my medical care and well being was top priority. This facility is right next to Los Robles hospital. If I have to ever have surgery again I will hope my doctor uses this facility. I live in Simi and If the hospital is as well run and nice as the surgery center I will make the drive over to TO instead of going to Simi hospital. read more

Surgery center and actual staff were great! As previous people have stated, Kathy in billing is incredibly rude and argumentative for no reason. She told me my insurance company was incorrect in what I was told multiple times and when I said that and asked why it was different she got even more defensive and down right hateful. She acted like my asking questions was such as inconvenience for her and told me more than once that she should be off already. While I was speaking with her, she would be having other conversations while trying to cover the phone which she failed at then would make me repeat myself. This whole experience with her was so unprofessional and sadly, I will NEVER go back to this center. It's not worth having to deal with arrogant, rude, condescending people especially when you are forking over hundreds of dollars. read more

The staff are all super attentive, the facility is clean (spotless really) and overall just a great experience - I mean as good as can be expected with surgery.
