There's ready made meals, sushi, sashimi, sides, snacks, sweets and drinks. For the chefs out there, they have premium quality meats and seafood too! Pretty much anything you'll need to complete a dish. The produce section may not be big, but it's satisfactory. On some occasions they'll have weekend pop-ups with tastings. The employees are helpful, and the store itself is clean. Something to be aware of, the line to checkout can be very long and hectic. Especially on weekends and during peak hours. If you're looking for a delightful Japanese meal, snack, or quality ingredients to whip up something magical, this is your place!

They still have a great selection of seafood, and I was also impressed by the variety of Japanese snacks. Since it was a weekday, the store was pretty quiet. There were also several promotional items near the front, and I was able to pick up a few candies at a good price. With tariffs and rising prices these days, everything seems to be getting more expensive, so I was especially happy to find a couple of good deals. I'd definitely swing by again if I'm in the area.

With a very unpleasant look on his face, he snapped, "Are you blind? Can't you see the price written down there?" I picked out a fish and asked him to prepare it; still looking annoyed, he barked angrily, "How do you want it done?" After cleaning the fish, he scowled, slammed it onto the counter with a loud thud, and turned his back on me. I was truly shocked and terrified that day--the experience has haunted me ever since. I was a customer, yet he treated me worse than a dog begging for a bone. His attitude was insolent, surly, rude, and uncultured. (There was another woman working at the fish stall nearby who was much nicer.) I really hope the owner retrains people like that, because it has been over a week, and both my daughter and I are still haunted and terrified by the incident.Hôm bữa cuối Tuần mình có ghé chợ Việt Hoa. rồi tới hàng cá, Vì ở xa tới nên chưa Nhìn rõ giá nên mình hỏi 1 chú mặc áo đen Khoảng 50 tuổi làm hàng cá, chú đó với khuôn mặt rất khó chịu nói " bộ đui sao không thấy giá ghi ở dưới " mình lấy 1 con cá và nói chú đó làm, vẫn với khuôn mặt khó chịu hơn chú đó gằn giọng tức giận hỏi " muốn làm như thế nào " lúc làm cá xong chú đó cau có tức giận vất cái bụp lên mặt quầy và quay mặt vào trong...

This market is one for the largest Vietnamese markets I've ever been to, offering a wide variety of fresh fruits, frozen foods, dry goods, imported sauces, sweets and more. I particularly love their extensive rice paper selections. My favorite is the "no water" rice paper, which doesn't require dipping in water to roll up like traditional ones. Unfortunately, this type of rice paper is available at every asian market so I'm happy Tan Binh has them. They also have a nice section dedicated to ready-to-eat and hot foods. You can grab and go with options like fried fish, tofu, and cooked meats. Customer service is usually pretty friendly. Just like anywhere else, you should check the expiration date of every product before buying. My cousin forgot to do so and bought two boxes of solar dried bananas that were expired. And during the warmer seasons, they set up a nice plant and herb section for sale right outside the entrance.

Whenever I'm nearby, I like stopping in to pick up vegetables and check out the large clearance section, where you can sometimes find some great deals. Like other 99 Ranch locations, this store has a huge variety of Asian groceries, including Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese snacks, sauces, seafood, produce, frozen foods, and pantry items. I usually frequent the 99 Ranch on I-10 and Bunker Hill, but this Westchase location has a very similar layout and selection. Inside, there's also a bakery with fresh buns and pastries, plus a small dining area where you can order combo plates with different meat and vegetable options. The shopping center itself is also convenient since it shares space with other popular businesses like Lady M and Paris Baguette. I also noticed a Daiso location coming soon, which should make this plaza even better for Asian shopping. Another nice feature is the rewards program. You can sign up with your phone number, scan your card during purchases, earn points, and redeem them for discounts later. Overall, this is a great one-stop shop for Asian groceries, snacks, and pastries in the Westchase area. I highly recommend it.

I was locked outside and another was locked inside trying to get out. We both stood there on opposite sides of the glass door in confusion until a short Hispanic male worker manually opened it from within. Tells me "No Mo" while shaking his head and waving his hands around to indicate they're closed. Showed him the time on my phone and he couldn't have cared less. Told him about the hours and uncovered he didn't speak a lick of English. I looked for security and none was nearby and clearly saw people still inside and some checking out. The next customer he let out, I walked right in and straight to the cashier while he kept saying, "EH NO MO!" I asked who the manager is and informed the pretty Spanish lady what he was doing. She confirmed store is still open and to go right ahead. I quickly grabbed my drinks and was checked out like everyone else. She apologized for his actions, and I thanked her for the great service. Was very disturbed by this encounter and odd how he's trying to shut store down before closing. I only spend 10 bucks but he's costing money to be lost from every customer he denies entry. I knew he was up to something shady, so I took his photo to warn others. I never had an issue with any 99 Ranch stores until that night. Really hope management will get on track to resolve this issue. Highly inappropriate to deny us entry during store hours just so he can bail early.

Nippon Daido is a small Japanese grocery store located in Westheimer and Wilcrest. I would come to…read morethis grocery store all the time when I was a teenager. When I started my associates degree I would come here too since Houston Community College is right across the street from it. I am happy to see that this small grocery store is still standing. Although this grocery store is small, it carries a variety of products. It has poke bowls, rice bowls, sushi, and bento boxes for you in case you do not have time to prepare a meal. Nippon Daido also carries a large variety of beverages that are very known in Japan. They also carry different kinds of beer from Japan and sake as well. Everyone is obsessed with matcha right now and I saw they had a different variety of matcha. I myself am a fan of tea. Theu even have different kinds of tea that I hope to try all of them one day. If you are not a fan of tea, I also noticed they had different kinds of coffee. This grocery store also carries a good variety of Japanese candy. We have all seen and heard about the different kinds of KitKat, well, this place carries them. I ended up buying the milk tea KitKat and it a nice delight of a flavor. I noticed that this place carries stuff to do hot pot and barbeque items in the frozen section. Japanese ice cream is carried too like taiyaki vanilla ice cream and red bean ice cream. I myself am a big fan of Kirby and noticed they had a Kirby cup. As much as I wanted to buy it, I had to pass up on it today since I own too many Kirby items. They also carried some Sanrio items but a lot of kitchenware without any design. What I like about this grocery store is the fact they had origami paper and Japanese notebook if you wanted to practice writing in hiragana or katakana. I used to buy those notebooks when I was practicing learning how to write and understand Japanese. In the same section they had very adorable toothpicks to make your own bento box. Something new I saw was that this grocery store has its own little sweet shop called Sweets Oyatsu. I tried the strawberry matcha latte and from I am seeing their famously own strawberry mochi. When I tell you the strawberry mochi is to die for! It has a very sweet flavor coming from the strawberry itself with a hint of sweet red bean. The chewiness of the mochi made the experience even better. The strawberry matcha latte was pretty good. You could really taste the sweetness of the strawberry and the slight bitterness of the matcha. I grew up in Alief my whole life. Nippon Daido is a hidden gem that Alief has in Houston. This small grocery store really brings the Japanese culture closer to home. I always like supporting small local businesses and as much as I do not visit this area anymore. It reminds me to continue to support small businesses. I will try to visit this grocery store more often.

It's close to Costco and H-Mart, and near H-Mart you'll also find Paris Baguette and Tous Les Jours. There's an 85°C nearby as well and with Costco right next door, you could easily spend half a day hopping between all these places. On weekends, traffic can be pretty crazy and parking isn't easy since everyone shops then. However, if you come on a weekday especially outside of lunchtime--it's much easier to find a parking spot. Inside 99 Ranch, there's a food court with options like San dong noodles, dim sum, stir-fry dishes, and Chinese barbecue. On the other side of the plaza, there are also several restaurants, including Korean spots and Vietnamese crawfish places. As for the store itself, there are always clearance items near the Kung Fu Tea area, which we usually check out before heading in to shop for fruits, produce, vegetables--pretty much everything. I found my favorite Japanese soy milk but this was banana flavored. Way too sweet for me and it was $4/carton. It's a large store and they offer a loyalty program. If it's your first time visiting 99 Ranch, you could easily spend an hour just roaming the aisles. There's so much to see--it almost feels like a little field trip every time we go.
