Just like anywhere else, you should check the expiration date of every product before buying. My cousin forgot to do so and bought two boxes of solar dried bananas that were expired. I normally hit up Viet Hoa Supermarket on the other side of Beltway. The store is clean enough. Aisles are not always clear. Stuff was all over the floor and blocking the aisles. The shopping carts were all over the parking lot. It's not about what the business did but the customers left the charts wherever they want. I just wish there is a collection point. I have major issue of language barrier with employees here. All signs are in Vietnamese. I had to use Google Translate app for everything. That's too much. Whenever I'm nearby, I like stopping in to pick up vegetables and check out the large clearance section, where you can sometimes find some great deals. Like other 99 Ranch locations, this store has a huge variety of Asian groceries, including Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Vietnamese snacks, sauces, seafood, produce, frozen foods, and pantry items. I usually frequent the 99 Ranch on I-10 and Bunker Hill, but this Westchase location has a very similar layout and selection. Inside, there's also a bakery with fresh buns and pastries, plus a small dining area where you can order combo plates with different meat and vegetable options. The shopping center itself is also convenient since it shares space with other popular businesses like Lady M and Paris Baguette. I also noticed a Daiso location coming soon, which should make this plaza even better for Asian shopping. Another nice feature is the rewards program. You can sign up with your phone number, scan your card during purchases, earn points, and redeem them for discounts later. It's close to Costco and H-Mart, and near H-Mart you'll also find Paris Baguette and Tous Les Jours. There's an 85°C nearby as well and with Costco right next door, you could easily spend half a day hopping between all these places. On weekends, traffic can be pretty crazy and parking isn't easy since everyone shops then. However, if you come on a weekday especially outside of lunchtime--it's much easier to find a parking spot. Inside 99 Ranch, there's a food court with options like San dong noodles, dim sum, stir-fry dishes, and Chinese barbecue. On the other side of the plaza, there are also several restaurants, including Korean spots and Vietnamese crawfish places. As for the store itself, there are always clearance items near the Kung Fu Tea area, which we usually check out before heading in to shop for fruits, produce, vegetables--pretty much everything. I found my favorite Japanese soy milk but this was banana flavored. Way too sweet for me and it was $4/carton. It's a large store and they offer a loyalty program. If it's your first time visiting 99 Ranch, you could easily spend an hour just roaming the aisles. There's so much to see--it almost feels like a little field trip every time we go.
