It was a quiet Monday afternoon, around 2, when I brought my mom for lunch here. We were the only table. The server was friendly. And appropriately attentive. Food was good. It came out very quickly was hot and tasty. My mom ordered a vegetarian dish, El Vegetariano, and ate the entire platter, which is unusual for her. She usually leaves a significant portion of food to bring home as leftovers later. She said that her dish was excellent. I had the enchilada supreme. Four enchiladas, one each of cheese, bean, chicken, beef. It was very tasty. Free fried tortilla chips and sauce for the table. Fountain drinks, the standard price, and free refills. It was alright. This restaurant is small. It has seating for two through 12. You can order to go or in store seating they will first serve chips with salsa. They have a large menu with lots of margaritas. We tried the birria tacos. Chioriqueso dip and the pollo fundito. Somebody who likes authentic Mexican and regularly has tacos I would say that the taco is good. The chips were we see in old grease not exactly for me. And the dip was just OK. read more

A nice, bright spot tucked in the corner of the plaza, we ate lunch there on a whim. It was busy for lunch with take out and a few diners. The dining area is a nice size. The server was busy and didn't miss a beat. Chips and salsa were offered upon being greeted. We ordered guacamole which was fresh and nicely presented. Perfect size for a lunch appetizer for two. I got the taco salad with chicken which was really good. It had plenty of fixings, carefully placed so you can choose your next bite. They do not skimp on anything here. I've been many times over the past 5 years or so and have never been disappointed in the food. I've also never had to wait to be seated or wait too long for the food. My go to is the seafood chimichanga with rice and I get a side of beans. My husband loves the tamales with beef and wishes there was an entree that really featured them (he gets them ala carte with a side of rice and beans). We've had many of the entrees over time; spinach cream burritos, chili poblanos, the combo platters. Never had a bad or inconsistent meal. Haven't tried it yet but glad they added carnitas and birria choices which are newer to the menu. The only detractor is the location. It's in an alley so if you're seated and facing the window, you have a view of an alley. Would love if they were able the at paint the alley wall or something. Gave this place a shot on a whim, and I'm glad we did. Though it was a smaller restaurant, they were packed, we had a large party, but they accommodated us and was super friendly. This place seems to be popular as people kept coming in. The birria quesadilla was really good. We all just split everything for the most part. My son really enjoyed the tacos al pastor versus the quesadilla. But me and my sister and I enjoyed the quesadilla more than the taco. Nonetheless, everything was really good. Though the rice was good, I feel that it could be more authentic. There is plenty of parking in this Plaza. Like I said, this place is small, so there may be a wait. read more

Authentic and delicious Mexican food (and authentic Mexican music), excellent and highly customizable margaritas (try one with Cabo añejo!), complimentary chips and salsa (as should be the case in every Mexican (or AmeriMex) place in the country (I'm lookin' at you, Chipotle and Green Cactus)), El Yucateco habañero sauce - both red and green - on the table, cordial and accommodating servers, a relaxed and casual atmosphere...this is one of my ideas of a perfect Mexican restaurant experience. I almost always order the enchiladas supreme, but with all cheese enchiladas, no guac and extra sour cream (that's just my thing) and it's always excellent, as have been the bites I've tried of the dishes of friends who've come here with me. Those excellent margaritas come in three sizes. The "small" is your standard margarita glass. The "medium" is a very tall, narrow beer mug that holds a dangerous amount of margarita. Two people could split it and each would still get quite a bit more than is contained in the "small" size. What the "large" looks like, I can but imagine. Maybe someday, when I've had a really hard day (and have about six friends with me) I'll order one of those. read more

If you like unflavored cardboard this is your place. There was absolutely nothing exceptional about it. I wanted good Mexican food and was so disappointed. I sent the first order back of beef Chimichangas as there was no flavor at all. Silly me! I then ordered 3 Tacos, which were made of the same beef. No flavor! When I inquired about this the manager said they do not use spices in their food. I swear, you can make tacos at home with a kit that would taste better than what I had. My husband had the chicken and it was just as bad. I get it. we are all stuck in a situation, but please do not call yourself authentic when you call Mexican rice authentic when you add peas and carrots to it! My biggest complaint is that we ordered extra lettuce for two dishes and they charged $5.99 (yep, you saw that correctly) and there was barely even an 8th of a cup of shredded iceberg lettuce added to both of our orders combined. Also requested a side of guacamole and extra sour cream. Again, the cost was extraordinary - $8.50 for about a 1/2 c. of guac (which had no flavor) and $5 for the same amount of sour cream. I had been here once before and thought it was absolutely delicious so when I saw that they had the option to order online, I thought it would be a great option for Cinco de Mayo take out. I ordered at 5 PM and the system told me it would be ready in 30 minutes. I got there at 5:40 and there were about 20 people waiting outside for their food. I stood there until 7:40 and finally left because I was starving. A lot of the people who were there when I first arrived were still there when I left. I never heard from them but my card was still charged. I understand that this is a tough time but they had no system in place on their busiest day of the year and were not communicating with their customers at all to let them know what was going on. I gave this two stars purely because they got my order right. Other than that, I would say one star. I got the burrito supreme lunch special, but there was nothing supreme about it. The meat was flavorless but in a very unappetizing way. If good meat is used, the flavor of it usually will make it easy enough to eat. This meat just tasted old and the juices tasted off and were making me gag on the burrito itself. Did I mention the burrito just had beef inside? Nothing else. No rice or anything. No cheese either. The cheese and red sauce on top of the burrito were flavorless and sparse. The chips tasted stale. The pico de gallo was the highlight of the meal, but again, it was sparse. I'm so disappointed as I was hoping this would be a good lunch spot right down the road from my job. Just like the other reviews suggest - this place is a hit or miss. Let me start off by saying this is place is NOT 100% authentic Mexican food. Not quite Taco Bell, but also not quite 100% Mexican. I've stopped by during both lunch and dinner times - and definitely prefer lunch only because it's a good price ($7?) and portion, their dinner portions are very generous and this type of food is usually not as good reheated, in my opinion. They have free chips and salsa if you dine in - both homemade and very good. For me, the salsa could use a little more heat, but good for everyone else. Both their chicken and beef are seasoned well, but I'm not a fan of the rice. It has green beans, carrots, corn and peas which look like they come from a frozen bag and tossed in with the rice, which ruins it for me. Their sour cream, guac, salsa, cheese all that, are all very good - but I think they overdo it and put too much. If you're the type that likes a lot of cheese, then this won't be a problem for you. My boyfriend, for example, was very happy with his taco salad, but my chimichangas had so much sour cream and cheese that I had to scrape a lot of it off and add it to his meal. I also got a fried ice cream for dessert, which I thought was too small for the price. All their drink options, however, were more reasonably priced. We had a bucket of 5 Coronitas for $9, which was a better deal than just one Corona for a little more than $4 Again, the food is tasty but it's no more than just okay. It's at the same level as all the other Mexican restaurants around Albany, but it is in a plaza so it's conveniently placed. There were two workers there, both were friendly but were for the most part standing at the bar on their phones and looked up just enough times to refill our drinks and take care of our table. Would definitely recommend, nothing wrong with my experience so far, but I can definitely see where it wouldn't be a good experience if there was more than just 2 tables at the time. We finished our meal a little before 8:30 and we were the only ones left, and they started closing up even though they were supposed to be open until 9:30, so definitely call before stopping by! read more

Drum roll please. Worst Mexican food I have ever had. And I have had a lot. Worst Mexican food my husband has ever had and he eats ANYTHING. A MEXICAN PLATE FOR OVER $20! $18? Are you kidding me? That they closed Manama Grill and opened up this crapfest is like tearing down the Taj Mahal in order to build a Walmart. The "food" had zero flavor. Zilch. I got a quesadilla after I saw the insane prices and it was like eating chicken air. I don't know what the hell my husband got but he had two bites and could go no further. It's maybe like Mexican food from an airline or, um, prison. The chips were horrendous. BAD CHIPS! WTF! Salsa was inedible. I could have gone to Hannaford on the other side of the parking lot and found worlds better. The surroundings. I wish I had a picture. The chairs are too big for the tables and there are too many to begin with so the entire place feels like an obese person squeezed into a bad mariachi costume. If there had been a fire (which might have given the food some flavor) we would have been trapped by all the hideous wicker furniture and never made it out to write this review. In hindsight the wicker chairs would have probably tasted better. Last but not least....guacamole from a packet. SHAME SHAME SHAME! Overall horrible and $40 for garbage. I had to make enchiladas the next night so we could erase the memory for good. Vile. Disgusting. But, by all means, if you want a meal that will piss you off, check it out. read more

Don't call this place Los Panchos, call is Los your money! Mashed avocados from a bag and called it guacamole $4.99! Open some unseasoned crushed tomatoes and call it salsa. Not a hit of cilantro, onion - anything. Bagged flavorless corn chips. Now on to the $18 average priced meals. Ridiculous. So I find some chicken dish for $15.99 and basically it was fried onions over rice with raw peppers in it. Peppers were not cooked, chicken was pounded thin and just a half a breast. Insanely atrocious liquid queso. I've had better from a dollar store. Chairs are so light and large you can't get close to the table because they stick to the carpeted floor and tend to flip over when you try to slide you need to make a hopping motion. Decor was the common yellow and orange and that's about it as far as authenticity goes. Expect to spend over $45 for two people. Manama Grill (the kind of too many parts cooked fried onions in every dish) wasn't any better. From the time we entered until the time we left was 14 minutes. Meal came out way too soon which was a bad sign right off the start. My wife and I left and stopped for take out food on the way home. read more

By far the best Mexican restaurant in the capital region. My husband and I love to go to Mexico and this is a nice reminder throughout the year of our favorite place in the world. We lived around the corner from los panchos, now that we have moved we still make a point monthly to go. Our favorite restaurant in general around here. The food is always on point and tastes the same whenever we go which is always nice. We literally crave this place. Service is always kind and prompt. Delighted to have found this place. I just moved to this area from California. I've been jonesing hard for Mexican since August and have no weekly Del Taco run to give me at least a temporary fix. About a month ago I tried another place that was highly reviewed and thought it was Meh. I figured I would be out of luck permanently while in upstate NY. Then I stopped here on my way home one night, starving, and really wanting something cheesy and heavy and bad for me. So I ordered a chicken quesadilla and inhaled it. But not before I drank about a cup full of salsa and a handful of chips. The chips are okay. The salsa - thumbs up. I was happy but figured, 'how hard is it to make a quesadilla: chicken, tortilla, cheese?' So I went back a few days ago to see if their other food was good too. This time I ordered a plate with a chicken chimichanga and a beef burrito. It was wonderful. Honestly they are two items I don't eat often but I thoroughly enjoyed both of them and what I couldn't finish I brought home and ate the rest a day later. Still delicious. I'm not a huge fan of their refried beans (some flavor I can't identify but is too strong) or the chips (kinda bland) but that didn't stop me from eating all of both! I am a happy camper. The service was fast and polite, the ice tea tastes clean and fresh brewed, the bathroom was about as clean as my own and the prices are decent. Side note re: service: if I come in to your not crowded restaurant at an off-peak time of day, you damn well better give me good service. This is harder to come by than you might think. Restaurant staff in general seem to phone it in unless they're being slammed. But not this place - excellent service all around. read more

My wife and I tried this place for the first time last week and overall it was good. Our visit included a wonderful server who was very friendly and attentive. We ordered several different dishes of which all were tasty and made fresh. The chicken was very flavorful. The only negative we found was that the salad dressing choices were limited to those small foil packages. Nothing house made or heqlthy. My wife ordered a salad with blue cheese which turned out to be expired. They did the right thing and replaced the salad at no charge with the guac salad. My wife enjoyed that. I have never done a yelp review but I gotta give these people credit they did great in Cinco De Mayo. I had a pick up scheduled for 7:30 and when I got there their system had crashed. They banged their business so well and got our food to us with little despite all these challenges during a pandemic.
