My wife and I tried this place for the first time last week and overall it was good. Our visit included a wonderful server who was very friendly and attentive. We ordered several different dishes of which all were tasty and made fresh. The chicken was very flavorful. The only negative we found was that the salad dressing choices were limited to those small foil packages. Nothing house made or heqlthy. My wife ordered a salad with blue cheese which turned out to be expired. They did the right thing and replaced the salad at no charge with the guac salad. My wife enjoyed that. Margaritas are really good and I always get the chicken tortilla soup when I go. The chips and salsa are very authentic.

Stopped in on Tuesday night with my daughter and I had the chicken chimichanga special with soup and sangria. For $12.99 I had plenty to eat and the server brought special hot sauce from the kitchen that was outstanding! My daughter did the chicken enchilada combo and got enough food for two meals. Ok, so there are some pretty harsh reviews on here which may or may not be fair. First of all, I lived down south for a long time where they do Mexican right. It is very hard to find quality Mexican in the Capital District and people's opinions on those few places vary significantly. For example, I dislike El Mariachi and love La Fiesta and on Friday I got into a passionate argument with someone who felt just the opposite. That being said, Los Panchos is not 5 star cuisine. It is a bit pricey for what you get. The margaritas are average, but an average margarita is still a margarita. I've been 3 times since mid-August and have never disliked a meal. 3 stars right there, I came back twice. Good chips and salsa and they give you a salsa pitcher to pour yourself (AWESOME). Entrees are about average for a Mexican joint. Last time I went I got a "California Burrito" and I am not exagerating when I say it was at least 2 and a half pounds. I say this as a Man vs Food fan who has conquered a 3 pound burrito in ATL, 2 1/2 pound burger at the old JA Prep Kitchen in Crossgate, and a 7 pound fritata at Mother's Cupboard in Syracuse. It was impressive, tasted ok (too much guac), priced alright for a dish that size but it let me down that there was no reward or challenge or wall of fame for accomplishing such a feat. You don't come here looking for the most authentic Mexican food - it's mostly Tex Mex with a few better dishes thrown in. It's a tiny place and a bit pricey, but it's probably the best "Mexican" in Bethlehem. Love the chimichanga - it's the best I've had in a long time, even better than most of the places I used to frequent when living in the South. The "chile verde" - pork cooked in a spicy tomatillo sauce - is also very good. Every now and then I see molé as a special, but it's always when I'm grabbing takeout and have already ordered. If they had it on the regular menu, I'd love to try it. The only real drawbacks are the price and somewhat limited menu. I wish I could get chorizo as a meat option for some of the dishes, for instance. read more

I have been here three times and had different servers and entrees. I was pleased all three times and so was my wife. We live it here and are planning on making it our taco Tuesday spot. Pricey for not a lot of food with below average quality. Ordered online, took 40 minutes (quoted 30 min) to get three tacos on a quiet night with maybe 4 tables taken. Also wanted to try the chips and salsa only to find out it doesn't come with salsa, just a big bag of bland chips. I'm kind of surprised by some of the other reviews here as I definitely remember tasting cilantro, the guacamole always tasted fresh, and the chips taste homemade (not traditional chips, they are thicker). I should also mention that I have had many types of Mexican food from all over, I am a non-smoker, and limit my salt intake so I may have a sensitive palate compared to others. I always get the chicken fajitas and they taste excellent - freshly grilled chicken, peppers, onion, and tomato (although I'm not a fan of the grilled tomatoes.) There are always a ton of leftovers and service is friendly and attentive, too. My only criticisms - The chairs don't fit the tables, they are awkward and large for the size of the place. The prices are a little high for the quality of food. The food is definitely good but not mind-blowing and sometimes way too salty for me. read more

My table had four different entrees. All were rated "ok". More spice and flavor is needed although if you don't like any spice then you may do well here. Not inexpensive either considering mex is usually a pretty good value. Im wondering why the prices are much higher than their clifton park location? My $13.99 meal is $10.99 in CP! We ordered burritos and tamales. They were prepared really oddly, and the textures were just gross. The burrito was a tortilla wrapped around fatty ground beef seasoned with nothing but salt. There was nothing else in it. It was just this glob of brown meatstuff smothered in jarred marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. It was like eating a meatloaf. The tamales were prepared with only meat and sauce. I think they need to learn a little about Mexican food and not from the school of Chef Boyardee or Taco Bell. I wouldn't have even known this place existed had we not gotten a coupon in the mail, but I'm glad we gave it a shot. My husband and I had an early dinner (~4:30pm) here and it was great. I had the chimichangas with shredded beef and they were excellent, and the house margaritas and salsa were delicious as well. The service was very quick; we had our meals within ten minutes of ordering. I had to knock off a star because I think the prices are a bit high, and also the place has a musty smell to it, but we'll definitely be back regardless. read more

Finally ! This is the good Mexican food I remember from their other site. This is our second trip, after a not so great trip when they first opened. We wanted to give them another chance after a few months went by and thank goodness as it was as good as we've had at their other location. The spinach cream burrito and burrito grande were so yummy. I ordered take out recently from your Delmar location. I will say I was impressed. Your chicken quesadilla was delicious! Your guacamole was yummy and everything was fresh and warm when I arrived home with it. We ordered 3 entrees and it was only $43.00, which is not bad considering portion size! This is a neighborhood restaurant that fills an ethnic food niche that has been missing. The food is better than the Mexican chain restaurants and just a step below the few remaining "boutique" Mexican restaurants that haven't been driven out by the chains. The service is quick and polite. There is a full bar menu and the ambiance is nice also. The food is not overly spiced, so it's also a good choice for a family outing. read more

Realistically this deserves a one star but the food isn't actually that bad. I would suggest going to this restaurant in person because I have ordered online and on the phone and on multiple occasions they have just forgot to make my order. I get there and it's like they are surprised I showed up for it, they quickly put it together and forget half the items I ordered. Today I ordered two dinners was told 20 minutes - showed up a half and hour later to find they didn't even give the order to the kitchen - was told it would be five minutes ( yeah right ) came back 15 minutes later and it still wasn't done. This is the best Tex-Mex I have had since I left Texas (to be clear this is not Mexican food. Tex-Mex is an entirely different cuisine with its owns merits and flaws) Honestly, the place is a diamond in the rough. They are overeager to hit on the all the 'tex-mex' decorating points, which creates a somewhat tacky presentation (the unimaginative name doesn't help)- but don't be fooled. My husband and I stumbled on this restaurant tucked into the corner of Delaware Plaza in Delmar last week, and have made 3 trips back there since!! I am often nervous about Mexican food because I tend to not appreciate spicy/hot food as much as many others. Their salsa is very mild--no worries of burnt lips at all! And the nachos are to die for!!! That is what we have ordered 3 times since our initial visit. The chips are thick and crispy, and the cheese sauce is oober-creamy and has a nice little kick, but nothing overwhelming. You can get it with beans, chicken or beef. I have gotten them with chicken each time, which is shredded and cooked with peppers, onion and a mildly flavored sauce. With the cheese, salsa and chips, I tell you, I am obsessed!!! Is this a 5-star place? No, but with it's cozy atmosphere, nice-sized portions, and those nachos!!!, it is certainly on our short list of places to go the next time we want to dine out!! read more
