Greeted and sat quickly, and had a very courteous server. The chips and salsa were warm with great flavor with medium spice. The fiesta combo was everything you could expect, and the price was great, it came with two plates tamales, enchilada, beans and rice all held there own and that was the first plate, the second had the taco, tostada, and chalupa talk about bang for the buck. The Tilapia was grilled very well, tender and fresh flavor. Will definitely be back. Do try the strawberry soda.

This is a place I do not recommend you waste your time or money. The waitress was our only plus to…read morethe entire night. She worked the entire dining room basically by herself and our table still did not go without anything. She was greatly appreciated. The food on the other hand. Just don't! Bland salsa and the queso tasted and looked like rotel dip but was so thick it was sticking to the plate. Our entrees took over an hr to come out and the inside of one of the burritos was cold. You could tell it had sat way longer than the others waiting to be served. Overly salty rice and hard beans. The margaritas were awful! The whole menu needs to be revamped as far as flavor and consistency. They need more staff to lower wait times.

I went in with Maybe to high of expectations because I have been to Mabel's and Mr Lester's and Mr…read moreLester's was Especially fantastic. We started with the beef nachos. my wife had the taco salad and I had the beef burrito. The chips and salsa were just not good! The chips are thick and bland and and the salsa was also bland and cold. The burrito, while it wasn't bad, it just wasn't good. The nachos were not good. The chips kinda ruin them. And lastly when I ordered a margarita it tasted like it was made with pine-sol. The one good take away was our waitress, I think her name was Khala. She was awesome and when she asked if everything was good we told her yes. It all ended with a bout of montezumas revenge for both my wife and I. maybe it was a bad night for them as I had been there before, years ago and and it was pretty good. However I am going to mr Lester's and have a perfect steak first. And yes I will try this restaurant again at a later date Knowing their capability. Thanks!!

La Espuela has held-up very well. See my fav's on prior reviews…read more Same owners & operation have a slightly more upscale place, "El Corazon", in the center of our City, just across Main Hwy from our historic Church. Espuela has slightly better prices; Corazon has a bit more comfortable seating. About a draw. At Corazon, parking lot is in rear. Also they now have SOME seasonal local seafood like boiled crawfish. Louisiana has law making restaurants post whether their seafoods are from Louisiana, or "imported". This somehow misses the customer's point; we are fine with seafoods from other states', as their products are from our own Gulf of American/Mexico, just not from the far east. The ceviche de camarrones here is not up to either Yucatan/Quintana Roo/Tamaulipas standards, nor our local quality. Other dishes we've tried are good to very good. We like & frequent both of these restaurants.

The enchiladas are alright the beans are surprisingly good so is the rice. The queso blanco is actually fire. It isn't the best tex-mex food i've had but it's not the worst. If they improved the food by adding more vegetarian options and non meat salsas for the enchiladas it would be a lot better. My fiancé loved their birria tacos though.
