Greeted and sat quickly, and had a very courteous server. The chips and salsa were warm with great flavor with medium spice. The fiesta combo was everything you could expect, and the price was great, it came with two plates tamales, enchilada, beans and rice all held there own and that was the first plate, the second had the taco, tostada, and chalupa talk about bang for the buck. The Tilapia was grilled very well, tender and fresh flavor. Will definitely be back. Do try the strawberry soda.

We sat at the bar and were immediately brought complimentary chips, salsa, and black bean dip. The salsa wasn't spicy, which I appreciated, and the black bean dip was delicious and a nice addition. I ordered: * Street Taco Plate: I chose the steak, though you can also choose from al pastor, carnitas, or chicken. The plate came with three street tacos, rice, and beans. I opted for the charro beans, which included sausage and bacon and was delicious. The tacos themselves were tasty, but I would have liked a little more protein in each one. The corn tortillas could have also been heated a bit longer, as they were still quite soft. One thing I found disappointing was the lack of customization options. The street tacos are not available à la carte, so I wasn't able to create my own combination plate with a street taco, enchilada, and tamale. You also can't mix proteins on the street taco plate. You have to choose just one meat option. Our server had only been working there for a couple of weeks and wasn't very familiar with the menu. He wasn't familiar with what carnitas and al pastor were and couldn't provide recommendations, mentioning that he only orders the fajitas himself. That said, he was friendly, attentive, and did a great job refilling our chips, checking on us, and making sure our drinks stayed full. I think it would benefit the restaurant if employees had the opportunity to sample more menu items so they could better guide guests. The prices are on the higher side, but the food was enjoyable overall. The restaurant was clean and offers both indoor seating and a covered outdoor patio area. Despite a few minor issues, it was a pleasant dining experience and a good late-night spot to grab some Mexican food.

Our waitress took a while to come to the table, but otherwise service was okay. I was happy to see that they had ceviche on the menu (it's my go-to at Mexican restaurants). The kids all ordered the cheeseburger with fries off of the kids menu, and enjoyed them. My husband ordered the enchiladas El Paso, but said they were just okay (he didn't care for the chicken used). The ceviche I ordered was good, but I wouldn't order it again. It was covered in spice, which I could've done without. Ceviche has a great flavor simply from the pico and lime - no extra spices needed. The serving size was perfect for me, so I'd say it's on the smaller size because I usually take home leftovers. Overall, it was a mediocre experience.

See my fav's on prior reviews…read more Same owners & operation have a slightly more upscale place, "El Corazon", in the center of our City, just across Main Hwy from our historic Church. Espuela has slightly better prices; Corazon has a bit more comfortable seating. About a draw. At Corazon, parking lot is in rear. Also they now have SOME seasonal local seafood like boiled crawfish. Louisiana has law making restaurants post whether their seafoods are from Louisiana, or "imported". This somehow misses the customer's point; we are fine with seafoods from other states', as their products are from our own Gulf of American/Mexico, just not from the far east. The ceviche de camarrones here is not up to either Yucatan/Quintana Roo/Tamaulipas standards, nor our local quality. Other dishes we've tried are good to very good. We like & frequent both of these restaurants.

One was chicarrones and the other were nachos. Y'all I've NEVER seen anything like these creations before. So like the chicarrones very flavorful full of color and was so so sinfully good! Had a nice crunch and sweet kick with yummy cheese and a punch! The nachos were totally different. The chips for starters were more flavorful and just tasted like they fried them in house. The toppings included corn as well which was a yummy surprise. All in all 10/10 will go back bcos there's a whole menu I need to devour, but also very authentic.
