We've been to this food truck pod multiple times and this was our first time at Los Jefes. The truck looked great and had a few tables right outside, but there's many table to sit at. The gentleman at the window was helpful and friendly. We placed out order - taquitos, asada burrito, carnitas quesadilla, 2 Lengua tacos and 2 cabeza tacos. The food was ready in an appropriate amount of time and we went home. That carnitas quesadilla was decent sized, had great flavor and the grease factor was ok. The asada burrito was a good size and the rice, beans and asada all tasted great. The balance of these felt off - not much asada. The taquitos were good - nice flavors but could be crispier. The tacos were both really tender, flavorful and had a decent amount of meat. I wouldn't come back for the burrito but the other items we got were really good. read more

One of many Mexican food carts in the Springwater (a.k.a., Cartlandia?) food cart pod on south 82nd Ave. Great value for the price ($10) as we had a shredded beef enchilada plate and a humongous (felt like at least 2 pounds) steak & mushroom & mex fixings burrito (Toro burrito). Flavors were on point & food was hot & service was friendly. No regrets choosing this spot though at this cart pod with over a dozen other choices, it might be hard to go wrong. Also lots of Middle-eastern (think gyros) carts here. Parking was tight but plenty of seating indoor & outdoor. read more

All in all, the food was excellent at this food cart. It is part of a food cart pod where there are plenty of dining tables and chairs. The food is made to order and I can tell the ingredients were very fresh. Their pricing is very good compared to other food carts in the same pod. The best part is that I can literally order a dish from each food carts and I will not be eating the same type of food. It is definitely a plus. read more

I usually go to the Mexican food cart that right in the middle of Cartlandia, but I decided to try Los Jefes recently. The menu is similar to that other food cart with a variety of meats and different burritos, tortas, tacos, and plates to choose from. I got six tacos which I shared with my boyfriend. We got them in asada, carnitas, chorizo, pastor, pollo, and cabeza. Honestly couldn't tell what was was cabeza and what was asada but all were so tasty! I think my favorite was the chorizo because it was very flavorful. There are also some seafood options which cost a little extra. Sauce is free and come in mild or spicy. You can't go wrong with tacos at a food cart and these definitely did not disappoint! It's a little hidden so be on the look out for it! read more

Los Jefes tacos dance in my brain for days, weeks even. Then I'll drop into Cartopia and get my helping of expertly cooked cabeza and tripas tacos. Horchata is excellent here too. The Fresas con Crema makes for a perfect dessert. Another notable item is the lamb barbacoa. Service is quick and friendly. Outdoor covered seating is great for a rainy or sunny day. The best Mexican food I've had in the area so far! Los Jefes is a food cart located in the Springwater Cart Park. The man taking my order was super nice and the service was very fast. He told me 10-15 min and my food came out sooner than 10. I got the taco plate with chicken tacos. Everything was SO good! I also got a canned juice. Great little cart park and dogs are allowed as well. Outside of the cart had a few small tables as well as bigger tables just a few feet away shared by everyone. Tried their pastor, barbacoa, and carnitas tacos today and it was pretty hard to differentiate the meats. The pastor had the pineapple obviously, but none had a punch of flavor. There are definitely better tacos in this city. They're average. Not bad, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back for the tacos. The red salsa had a nice smokiness to it. The green sauce had no heat and was very thin. The salsas could use some work too. Had them bookmarked for the breakfast burrito, so will come back to try that. read more

Check this place out for AMAZING tacos and authentic lamb barbacoa. I ordered a fish taco and the fish tasted so fresh and flavorful. The salsa taste super flavorful and rich. I really appreciated the lightly fried tortilla along with a fresh cilantro and onions. If I live locally I would try everything on their menu. Before coming to Los Jefes, I had been on a decade-long run of eating mediocre burritos (i.e. ingredients not fresh, gross amount of cheese, sauce that was off the mark, seemed prepared by a high-schooler). Glad to report, my dry spell has ended! The Gallo Burrito (ordered saucy "wet") is prepared with care using fresh, quality ingredients. The service is excellent, usually with a smile. By chance we happened to stop by this local food stand outside of the Sentinel Hotel - the Mrs., always down to eat street cart food, ordered up some Asada, Al Pastor, and fish tacos to go. Ate then in the hotel bar with some cervezas and we were muy contento - if you're feenin' for some good ol' street tacos, come by Los Jefes. I love this food cart. Food is sooo good, high quality. And nice people. I love the Chili Relleno Burrito. Only downside is the burritos are too big (LOL - if that is really a downside) - so I get it without the rice. And even then it is still two meals worth. (And can grab a Hot Toddie from Blue Room Bar to drink outside and stay warm while waiting for food.) read more

I had the Classico burrito, so good! My favorite burrito in Portland. I'm from Cali so I'm spoiled. I haven't found many that live up to my burrito expectations and this one did. Went to the other Mexican stand before this one and we got really bad service so we decided to look around and saw this place.. as soon as we got there we were greeted very friendly.
