Great queso, salsa, fajitas and drinks. All the best staples of a good Mexican restaurant. I usually try chimichangas when I go to new places but my gf and I split fajitas. They only have fajita plates for one but it was enough to share.

It was about an hour wait on a Friday night. The space was bustling and loud. Service was fast. The food was delicious. I do wish they took the time to melt the cheese on my mocajete but it was still good.

Los dos potrillos overall is a solid Mexican restaurant that you can visit. I will say depending on which location can slightly make one better than the other. We usually visit the parker Los Dos Potrillos, but this time we tried the original location. Our go to dish is the molcajete with the spiciest sauce. It is a solid dish, but for some reason, this visit, the dish dish not hit the craving per usual. Due to picking the spiciest sauce, they informed us at this location that the sauce would be on the side. I wish it wasn't because the sauce simmering makes a huge difference. The carne Asada fries was alright. I wish the meat was seasoned a little more, but it isn't the worst and better than a mid carne asada fries. I can share that I may just be spoiled from the fries I am used to from San Diego. I know because this location is the first, the restaurant is a little darker than the other locations and homey. It may be more authentic as being in a restaurant in Mexico. Personally, I love Los dos but I have a preference of going to the parker location. And last note, the parker is harder because it is a busier lot.

First time coming to this location, and I've got to say, it was a much better overall experience than the one I had at the Castle Rock location after they opened. We showed up for an early lunch and were seated right away. I ordered the combination fajitas, and my friend had a beef burrito. Drinks and chips/salsa came out fast. Our lunches came out soon thereafter. I could hear my fajitas sizzling...that's how they should be...sizzling on a scalding skillet, not served hot on a plate. Beef and chicken were very good. Tortillas are delicious. Lots of peppers and onions with really good flavor too. You could tell it was all cooked together, not separate and then assembled at the end. Service was friendly and prompt the entire meal. Will definitely be back.

To start, this is my Favorite restaurant chain in CO! This was my first time at THIS location and the service was a little disappointing compared to the Parker location. Never refilled chips and didn't ask if we wanted refills. After asking for more chips 3x, I had to get a little snippy and once I did, the service improved. This Los Dos location has the mom and pop Mexican feel which I love! When you walk in it's like walking straight into Mexico. I didn't see the tortilla making station but I might have missed it. Food is AMAZING! Some of the best queso in town. Skinny Margs are THE BEST. It's pricy but definitely worth it. Parking here is terrible.

My absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. The food is always delicious and outstanding. The customer service is beyond amazing. You are always treated like family. The table side guacamole is beyond fantastic!!! We have never had a bad meal here. The ambience is just as fantastic as the food!!! You will not regret coming to enjoy a meal with family and friends.

Los dos patrillos combo: tamale, enchilada, beef taco, bean tostada, rice, beans $17.50

The service was excellent, I wish the food would have been. Unfortunately the food here is underwhelming. I ordered a huge combo plate to try everything thinking I would take it to-go and eat the leftovers later. I didn't even want the leftovers. The beef taco and the bean tostada were both super bland and I put copious amounts of chalula on them to compensate. They were going to charge me $2.50 for a side of sour cream so I declined. The shredded beef in the tamale was tough and tasteless as well. The corn around the cheese enchilada was of bad texture and quality; think of what happens when you microwave a corn tortilla too long, that's it. On top of that, I was surprised to find a ton of lettuce on top of all of those dishes that typically don't even come with lettuce. It was just not a good food experience. This was my second time here. The QUESO is amazing though. I gave an extra star only for the Queso and the service. Likely won't be returning to this location. I may give another location one more to since it's reputation here is higher than this rating today. Also, the live music was going table to table. They were very good (and very loud). So expect that this is not a date establishment and you'll be fine! Fun for drinks it seems!

Food is consistently delicious, from appetizers to any type of entree. Breakfast, lunch or dinner. So so yummy! The staff, the servers are so friendly. No matter what location, everything is just so good. Their cocktails are great too!

Very mediocre food. Service was good, ambiance was generic. Nothing stood out as being a go to restaurant.

Ok, back to what you care about, their Happy Hour. For two people we got an Americano Taco, Nachos w/ Chicken, Guacamole, ceviche, and margaritas. The margaritas, for being at a Mexican restaurant, were passable. The mango margarita tasted a little like mango, like a Lacroix version of a mango margarita. This was the least enticing of what we ordered. The Americano Taco was a classic white person taco. Hard shell. Ground beef. Nothing too crazy. It was a taco. The ceviche had delicious plantain chips, which I love, to accompany it and the striped bass. In addition there was pineapple and sweet potato. My problem with the ceviche was that there wasn't a lot of fish in it. The guacamole was well mixed and flavored. Served with potato tortilla chips was nice and they were nice and salty. The best part, the nachos with cochinita pibil were flavorful, filling, and cheesy. I was the most happy with the nachos choice for HH so if you're looking for a good happy hour deal come for the nachos.

TLDR great flavor, slow service…read more Drinks, appetizers, and dessert all took a while. Ironically the entrees were the only thing that came out pretty speedy. Chips/guac were pretty good, but they didn't give us enough guac to match the serving of chips. They also make their own chips, and she said they're supposed to have a floral note, but tbh I wasn't getting much of that. No big deal. Pescado frito tacos were delicious, but I absolutely hate when restaurants pile the ingredients really high in the center of the taco. I guess they do it for presentation, but it's so impractical, and a pain to eat. I tried spreading it out to the sides, but I shouldn't need to do that in the first place; I should just be able to enjoy my food. Everything was inevitably spilling out, and it just wasn't a great experience. Tres leches cake was great. No gripes there. Peach mocktail was extremely sharp; I tasted way more lemon than anything fruity. Ambience is quite nice and comforting. Good view upstairs too.

It's not a traditional sauce that you would have at a typical Mexican restaurant. It's very traditional. In the old days, you would have a long waitlist for a table. Not anymore. We were one of four or five tables. First, the good: our waitress was very attentive and kind. Everything about the food and drinks was disappointing. The margaritas were bland and tasted like an orange slice. The menu was limited, and a lot of the entrees were gone. The guacamole was runny, and the salsa was bland. Of our three entrees, the only one that was at least warm was the fajitas, I suspect from the sizzling plate. The rice tasted like it was days old. I will never return and will not recommend to anyone else. So sad!
