    Mexican rice
    Holly C.

My boyfriend introduced me to los corrales about a month ago. It's now our go-to place whenever we are in town. Here's why: When you walk in, you're immediately greeted by a very nice host, who then seats you. Chips and house-made salsa get promptly set on the clean tables and it's so worth the risk of filling up on. Their salsa is to die for. The most recent time we went (last night 01/04/2025) I went with the combination plate of 2 tacos and rice and beans (pictures attached). My food was mouthwateringly delicious and served in absolute HEAPS. I took half of it home. My partner always gets their chili Verde and raves about it each time. The booths are always clean and the seats are very comfy. The tables are decorated in paintings and there's lovely decor on the walls. Very clean restrooms. If you're looking for a solid Mexican food meal, check out los corrales. You won't be disappointed.

Hello everyone, this Thanksgiving Holiday ( every Thanksgiving) we spent our Holiday up North near Show Low, Greer & Pinetop Arizona, we go out of town every year for Thanksgiving to a new location, after doing some Black Friday Shopping we decided we wanted Mexican food for dinner so headed to Los Corrales, we arrived just before the crowds started and was seated upon arrival, the hostess was very nice in greeting us as we were seated, we started with chips and salsas as we decided what we wanted, I decided to go with the Chimichanga special beef with rice & beans, the beef was very tasty as well as the rice however the refried beans lacked a lot of flavor and seemed watered down , Jen had a Chili Relleno and it wasn't bad, our granddaughter had the Pop Corn Shrimp & Our daughter & son-in-law had the taco & enchilada plate and both were happy with their choices. Over all everything wasn't bad and would go back if craving Mexican Food. The restaurant is nicely done inside with plenty of seating and a nice Cantina as you enter. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and if in the area of Show low Az. Stop in and have a bite to eat.

Molcajete. Shrimp, chicken, chorizo and skirt steak in a cheese broth with Fajita veggies! Oh yeah, and rice and beans.

7-8-25, 6:30p. Dinner rush, tried the 'other' Mexican place and after being seated for 15 minutes still no menus, water, etc. Left, went to the "new' Italian place..$20 for counter service sandwiches.?. Well not today.. Los Corrales for the WIN! Prompt service, accommodating hostess and amazing food. First time having the Molcajete- 5 Stars! A literal boiling cauldron of fantastic food! Everyone else's food was good too but this molcajete, fan-freaking-tastic!

    Fabulous dinner!!

The best Mexican restaurant in Show Low! Every summer we escape the desert heat in Scottsdale and stay a week in Show Low. We like the service and exceptional food here. Our server Valeria is so good and professional! Thank you Valeria and the chef/kitchen staff! Superb dinner.

I ordered the mini taco trio appetizer (two carne asada and one pastor along with a large happy hour margarita. Ask for the hot salsa. The flavors on everything were fantastic. Plenty of food combined with chips, salsa, and the margarita. My mouth is happy. Great service, attentive, polite, fast. Everything you want in a restaurant!

Burrito Cancun!!! You gotta try it!!

Azteca: Where My Stomach Says 'Me Gusta!'…read more We've been to El Azteca a handful of times now, and it's truly one of our go-to spots for Mexican food. We usually stop by after church, and it never disappoints. Our latest orders were the Carne Asada and the Texano Fajitas--both so flavorful, and the servings are just right. We have to ask to-go boxes after. The ambience is really nice--clean, cozy, and I've always loved their booth seating. The staff is always welcoming and friendly the moment we walk in. And yes, they serve freshly cooked chips right away (always a plus for me!) along with their perfect salsa. My husband and I both love Horchata, and we never skip ordering each of us a big glass of that creamy cinnamon goodness. We've also tried their Camarones a la Crema--shrimp sautéed with mushrooms in a creamy sour cream sauce. Rich, comforting, and perfect with the rice and refried beans on the side. Their fajitas for two with steak come out sizzling, exactly how fajitas should. The flavor is on point, and honestly, it could feed more than just two people. The chorizo and eggs always hit the spot, and the enchilada suiza with egg and green sauce is another favorite. It is simple, comforting, and solid every time. Always a great experience here, and we'll definitely keep coming back.

Wife ordered the fish tacos combo, I had to try the 3 item . Fish tacos not impressive. To me, fish did not taste in its prime. Supposed to be mahi mahi, a bit tough & chewy. On the other hand, we both liked the beans & rice. My tamale was mediocre but the chile relleno was excellent! Gave the beef flauta to my wife to sub for the fish tacos. Overall, filling, satisfying meal in a nice place with nice staff. Prices are the usual, kinda high! The option is eating at home, and we're on VACATION!

She repeatedly had to go to the back to ask basic questions, and each time she left, she would get sidetracked helping other tables and take a very long time to return. That made the whole ordering process feel drawn out and frustrating. We were told that the green corn tamale, which is apparently usually meat-free, was made with pork lard. She mentioned it was in the green chili, though it sounded like she may have meant the masa itself was made with lard. Either way, it was disappointing and made the menu feel even more limited. What really stood out in a negative way was being told, "Usually when I have vegetarian customers, they just eat a salad." That did not make us feel welcomed at all. It made us feel like an inconvenience instead of paying customers trying to find something suitable to eat. We ended up sharing a quesadilla with a side of whole beans, and my wife ordered the veggie fajitas, which I had not even noticed on the menu since I only saw protein-based fajita options listed. The food was okay, but only because sautéed vegetables are hard to mess up, and that is essentially what my wife received. Overall, it was not a great experience. Going out to eat should not leave you feeling like a burden to the wait staff. I have worked in customer service for over 30 years, and making guests feel welcome is not that difficult. Unfortunately, that was not our experience here.

It comes with bacon-wrapped shrimp (my absolute favorite), quesadillas, flautas, and taquitos, plus it's garnished with cucumber, tomatoes, guacamole, sour cream, and sliced avocado. Paired with their salsa, it's seriously amazing. I also ordered a three-item combo plate and wow -- the chimichangas were so good. I went with ground beef and shredded beef with green sauce, and added an enchilada with red sauce. Everything was super flavorful and tasted fresh. We also got the queso, which I highly recommend. I love dipping my chips into both the queso and the salsa -- so yummy. Honestly, you can't go wrong with either. They finish meals with watermelon shots, which are the best. I've heard there are like seven different liquors in that shot, and it's definitely memorable. I come here every time I'm in town, and it never lets me down. The place was dead which was a bit concerning in a Friday night. I would have left 5 stars but this is why I didn't. Our waitress came very quickly to take our food order and we needed more time, we waited and looked around and waited and waited. My husband had a couple of questions but she never came and I guarantee she wouldn't have, had our bus boy not had the answers for us resulting in him getting her. The food came, and as soon as you see the pics you will see it was perfect. Our waitress never came again to check on us the entire meal and we waited quite awhile before she did come and asked if I wanted a box. I said yes and the check.
