We went last week for happy hour and dinner Got there at 4:55p and told happy hour is over This used to be one of the two better Mexican restaurants on the Mountain I know it's the end of the season but we always try to buy local. My boyfriend introduced me to los corrales about a month ago. It's now our go-to place whenever we are in town. Here's why: When you walk in, you're immediately greeted by a very nice host, who then seats you. Chips and house-made salsa get promptly set on the clean tables and it's so worth the risk of filling up on. Their salsa is to die for. The most recent time we went (last night 01/04/2025) I went with the combination plate of 2 tacos and rice and beans (pictures attached). My food was mouthwateringly delicious and served in absolute HEAPS. I took half of it home. My partner always gets their chili Verde and raves about it each time. The booths are always clean and the seats are very comfy. The tables are decorated in paintings and there's lovely decor on the walls. Very clean restrooms. We've been coming here almost weekly for 2 years and always order the same thing, which is why this visit was frustrating. We were charged $5.99 three separate times for meat, when normally we're only charged once for the shrimp. When I asked, I was told it was for the taco meat, even though we've never been charged for that before--the response was just a shrug and "that's what she told me." On top of that, we were previously promised a 30% discount due to an incident on a prior visit. After asking multiple times and being denied, she said she'd check, but instead she sent the cashier with my new total of 10% off. After being loyal customers for so long, this experience was disappointing. There were other issues, but this was the final straw. We won't be back--we'll be trying Charro down the street instead. Hello everyone, this Thanksgiving Holiday ( every Thanksgiving) we spent our Holiday up North near Show Low, Greer & Pinetop Arizona, we go out of town every year for Thanksgiving to a new location, after doing some Black Friday Shopping we decided we wanted Mexican food for dinner so headed to Los Corrales, we arrived just before the crowds started and was seated upon arrival, the hostess was very nice in greeting us as we were seated, we started with chips and salsas as we decided what we wanted, I decided to go with the Chimichanga special beef with rice & beans, the beef was very tasty as well as the rice however the refried beans lacked a lot of flavor and seemed watered down , Jen had a Chili Relleno and it wasn't bad, our granddaughter had the Pop Corn Shrimp & Our daughter & son-in-law had the taco & enchilada plate and both were happy with their choices. Over all everything wasn't bad and would go back if craving Mexican Food. The restaurant is nicely done inside with plenty of seating and a nice Cantina as you enter. The food was excellent! My spouse had Chicken Chimi and I had 2 Taco combo. Both were great and plenty of them. We both had Margaritas and they were outstanding. At the end of the meal, we got two watermelon shots and those could be addictive. Our service was great, let me say that up front. The food was not very Mexican though. My daughter and I ordered chicken and shrimp fajitas... came out sizzling... we were excited then eh.... The chicken was seasoned, the shrimp was not...the veggies in the fajitas did have peppers and onions but also included mushrooms, zucchini, broccoli and cauliflower! In fajitas?! Sadly not seasoned either but we had salsa at the table and that helped. My husband got Los Corrales salad that included chicken, shrimp and steak... they were all marinated and tasty but a ton of lettuce with sliced tomato, avocado and sliced cucumber. Had dinner at Los Corrales in Show Low on our way back from visiting a friend at the Summit Hospital. We got to the restaurant about 5:30 on a Thursday. We waited at least five minutes at the reception counter, although we found an almost empty restaurant. Coco-nut at the reception ignored us until we asked should we seat ourselves. Reluctantly, Coco-nut then proceeded to place three of us right next to the men's room, although several booths were empty by the window side. We could smell urine and bleach, and as I complained, reluctantly she placed us at one of the empty booths. The waiter Jose took our orders and was surprised we didn't want to have any alcoholic drinks, as we had to take turns driving in the night. Our food was served quickly, food was fresh, and tasty. The check was presented and Jose instructed us to go pay at the reception. We tipped him in cash right then. We waited at the reception for the arrival of Coco-nut, as she was in the kitchen and in no hurry to take our money. It took almost 10 minutes to just pay the check and get on the road. She didn't believe that we had already tipped Jose, out waiter. There is more than just the food and ambiance in a restaurant. Would we go back again? I'm honestly shocked that this restaurant only has 3.5 stars. This is the second time we have been here and the food and service is incredible. The first time we came, we went for their Sunday Brunch Buffet and it was amazing! Today we came for lunch and were blown away by the service. The busser, Julio, was constantly making sure our chips, salsa, and drinks were refilled before we even asked. Our server, Alfonso, was very friendly and took our order with ease. We received our food very fast and the pricing was very reasonable at only $12.50 per plate. All in all, the service and food here is worthwhile! The booths were beautiful and the decor nice. I thought the booths were special & hand painted, though Yelp friend Paige, from Arkansas, showed photos of a restaurant and the booths were the same!! Guess there is a Restaurants R Us place online to get restaurant decor. Lol!! They are still beautiful in both places! I always get a chile relleno to judge a place. Hubs got the special which is a pork burrito. Chips and salsa delivered. Chips were just ok. Warming them would have been such a cheap fix and made a huge difference! The salsa was not so good. It had an unusual taste that wasn't bad but not good. Chips and salsa are important! I asked for hot sauce to fix the salsa up but they need different salsa. It's not busy enough for a salsa bar but they could offer two-mild and spicy. The chile relleno was very good. Not the best I've ever had but I would order it again. Hubs thought the pork burrito was ok. I liked it but neither of us would order it again. Service was ok. He wasn't attentive but we were checked on 3/5. I eat here fairly regularly. The food is pretty good. But oh my. The building continues to get dirtier and dirtier. When you walk in, you don't smell lovely simmering beans and warm tortillas. Nope. My husband and I chose this restaurant for dinner because it was 100-150 yards from the Holiday Inn Express and on the same side of Deuce of Clubs street. We were happy with our dinner. This Mexican restaurant has a colorful traditional Mexican decor. The bar is separate from restaurant, separated by a wall. The restaurant had a variety of nonalcoholic, non-soda-pop beverages. I had a virgin strawberry daiquiri which tasted good. My husband had a tequila margarita with a half lemon floater. The lemon was hollowed and turned inside out and filled with triple sec. He liked his drink. My husband and I were not very hungry so we ordered appetizers. Mine was a Mexican pizza, large enough for dinner. It had ground hamburger, beans, tomato, lots of melted cheese, sour cream and guacamole. It was quite large so I shared some with my husband. My husband's appetizer had 3 mini carne asada beef tacos with pico de gallo. The dish came with a mini salad. This appetizer had less food than my appetizer. We also had chips and salsa. The menu is extensive. The service was very good. We had a cozy private booth. I enjoyed looking at the decor. Me and my family arent from show low, we just came here to spend thanksgiving together. The day after thanksgiving my dad suggested we go here because he said the food is amazing here, so we all went and i thought we were going to be seated in a bit since there were 20 of us in total. It was a very crisp, windy Friday and we were all very happy to eat here. I was observing the restaurant and there were tables that were free, it was just a matter of cleaning them. As we were waiting, me and my cousins are having a roasting session to pass the time. My sister then asked the lady how long it would be until we were seated and the lady says either 20 or 40 minutes i dont remember. We were all distraught, we were all very sad especially since there were tables that were free, they just needed to clean them but no!!! They didn't clean them and we all left very upset.
