Knowing we were going to eat a lot during a food tour, we settled on some small tapas (ham, cheese, bread, and olives) and got some sangria and a beer. We sat at the bar and I was able to practice my Spanish with the bartender. The ham was a generous portion and I loved watching them cut it behind the bar! Very fun and old establishment-y vibes. Wish we could've tried more on the menu if we didn't have other plans!

I came here due to a yelp recommendation because like most westerners unaccustomed to the Spanish way of living I was hungry at about 7 pm and needed something to eat. Yay yelp to the rescue. The place was crowded and there were no seats available when I arrived. There were many small groups congregated around tables and a few couples as well. It isn't obvious how to proceed once you come in the door so I probably stood there awkwardly for a few minutes near the door before making my way to the bar to what looked to be a vacant seat. A gentleman informed me that it belonged to his girlfriend so I was forced to now stand awkwardly next to the bar. Bar tender to the rescue explaining that if I waited he was pretty sure someone would leave soon and I could order a drink while I waited. I ordered a sangria and also inquired about food but was told that I need to have an actual seat in order to order food. After nursing my drink for about 20 mins when I was about to pay and head out to find somewhere else to eat, a spot finally opened up and I was treated to the most delicious steak and potatoes and zucchini tapas. This had to be one of the most delicious things I have eaten on this vacation. When I finally vacated my seat to save a pair of new arrivals, there was a line outside of people waiting for the opportunity to eat here. I might chance it again before I leave Seville. I highly recommend for the food and friendly waiters but wish there was a way to turn seats over more quickly. One guy kept insisting he was saving his girlfriend's seat but in the 90 mins I spent there she never showed up. Who knows if she ever existed. Bread comes free with your tapas order and really complimented the meal.

I don't think this place really needs another glowing review, but here I am. I stumbled upon it…read morecompletely by chance on the first day of the arrival, after a long drive, simply because it was close to where I stayed. I knew nothing about it at the time, so I wasn't surprised later when I checked Yelp and saw how consistently praised it is. The restaurant sits directly across from the stunning Baroque San Luis de los Franceses (18th century). From the moment I walked in to ask about the menu and timing, the team was incredibly welcoming and patient, carefully explaining how everything works. We took a short walk to explore the neighborhood, got lost on the way back, and somehow found our way back just in time before the restaurant closing. Despite that, the staff remained warm and accommodating, especially when helping us navigate the wine and jerez selections. I was too tired and out of practice with my Spanish, so I reluctantly switched to English, and it was still completely fine. The food was outstanding, exactly as everyone says. There are no substitutions, and once you've eaten there, you understand why! Everything is intentional. They go out of their way to accommodate you within their philosophy and to make the whole "slow food" experience feel thoughtful, relaxed, and special.

I wanted to like this place, but the food I had was really sub-par…read more I was on my own and ordered cone of fried fish with aioli, pork sirloin with whiskey and grilled vegetables with pepper emulsion. They now have an English menu, so everything was clear (or so I thought) especially since both of the waiters on duty didn't speak much English. (I arrived at 1:20 and one of them tried to tell me they wouldn't open until 10 minutes later - he kept on gesturing a cross with his hands and I asked '10 minutes more?' and he shook his head but eventually I guessed it) The fried fish was NOT fish - I was expecting something like fried sardine or fish fillet, but no, the texture resembled Asian fish balls... Soooooo weird. They were supposed to be served in a cone, but only a few pieces were, the rest were on a bed of lettuce and that made them all soggy. Ewwww. The pork sirloin looked promising - until I bit into a thicker piece that was undercooked, and it's pork... I wanted to tell them but since their English was so bad I just didn't bother. The grilled veg was just normal grilled veg - kind of flavourless but I needed some veg after so many days of mainly meaty tapas. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this place... although the menu looks promising and the decor etc is nice. The waiters were helpful but the fact that they can't even understand basic English makes it hard for people who don't speak Spanish.

Lived above this place for a few months. Good good, cheap prices definitely recommend if you're in…read morethe area
