We went here the first time in February 2024 as a Family. I had been a couple times at lunch and it was pretty good. It was not good at all when we went for dinner. The food tasted old. I also noticed they were already cleaning the kitchen. I think we got food from earlier in the day. My sopa was hard as a rock. Literally nothing tasted fresh. I told the young man at the register we could not finish our meals. He was very sweet and said he would let the owner know.
Jose, the owner, reached out to me within minutes. He was very apologetic and said to come again and get whatever we want. We waited a while after the bad experience. We went again the end of March. The food was much better. The young lady at the register was very sweet and helpful. After sat down and began to eat, Jose arrived. He began asking a lot of questions about how much I spent the last visit etc. I told him I didn't recall the exact amount but told him we didn't get desserts last time because they didn't have them then. We only got desserts because he offered and said it was something new. His questions were a little rude and embarrassing. We gave this place another at HIS prompting and due to his offer. I can say the food is ok as long as you go earlier in the day. We have not and will not be back because of how Jose acted during our visit. We will continue to go to Luis', Ms. Emma's (behind Lane) and Sol Azteca where we feel appreciated. (I waited a while to post and share because I wanted to no longer be upset about the disappointing visit.) I will be surprised if Los Comales stays in business with so much competition and if this is how customer interactions goes when there is a legitimate complaint. read more
