The Coco,s in Andover has great food and friendly workers. Their chili rellenos are the best.

We have always enjoyed the food and customer service here until today. We placed a take out order, to the tune of $78 and change, which included a $10 dollar tip for a take out order. Six meals, two of which came with no toppings, one came without the cheese sauce and very little meat. The other, a steak fajita quesadilla came with literally 7 tiny pieces of steak in the entire thing. I called and asked to speak to the manager, I was told he was to busy to talk to me. The girl who answered the phone said that he had authorized her to talk to me. The only compensation that they were willing to give was a credit for one meal. We had passed this restaurant many times and one day we decided to stop on the way home. It was definitely a disappointment. When you walk in it reeks of some kind of cleaner which is better than reeking of funk, I guess. We waited what seemed like forever for the waitress to come greet us. Then continued to wait too long for our drinks. The queso and salsa was really good, I'll give em that. The food not so much. It was pretty bland. It's been long overdue for Andover to get a quality Mexican restaurant. Unfortunately, Los Cocos isn't that. Tex-Mex is usually hit or miss, but everything I've tried here is subpar. Most of our entrees were lukewarm. The service was lousy, they had a ton of staff on hand but most of them were standing around having casual conversation with each other. If you like cheap margaritas, they're $2 on Saturday's. It really is sad because Andover deserves better. read more

Gosh this is the 2nd location I've visited again very delicious. Again had the Blanco queso and tried my friends chicken tamales. Everything again was delicious (I don't think I've had anything I didn't like). I really wanted to like this place. Nice atmosphere but the food was disappointing. I got the steak Durango which was mostly all fat and barely and meat. My husband got the chimichanga which ended up being super salty. My steak came with shrimp, which had no seasoning whatsoever. I guess all the salt went into my husbands chimichanga. There's no in between with the flavor here. It's either really bland or really salty. Very disappointed. Worst Mexican meal I've had in a long time. Waited over a year for the restaurant to open. Terrible margaritas that taste like cheap sour and no tequila. Carnitas were flavorless and mostly fat. A spicy shrimp plate came out with a few small shrimp submerged in a red sauce that tasted like ketchup was the base ingredient. No reason to ever return. read more

I give them 2 stars because I had a patron margarita and I like the stone facade around the bar. The food and service are meh at best. I'm writing this while still sitting in the restaurant. I didn't feel welcome here. The waitress almost dropped my hot food on the counter and didn't acknowledge it. My order was wrong but and she said "I know". That's a first. I questioned whether I should send it back. I kept it. Not a lot of flavor in the food. No one checked on me and I was sitting at the bar. No bueno. I've been done for at least 10 minute and no one has brought my check. I won't be back. read more

I started going to the west location and then moved east and was so excited when they came to Andover. Great tasting chips, salsa and Mexican food. The staff is very nice as well. My friends have told me that the Los Cocos location in Derby with subpar but my son and I decided to try out this new location. The waiter new little about the menu and seem very unconcerned with customer service, even though the there were only a few other diners in the restaurant. Where do I start? Our waiter was horrible didn't seem to have any knowledge of the menu and we sat with empty drink cups for at least half the time we were there. I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita and it came out with a thin layer of shaved ice that melted within a minute of my first drink after that it just tasted like straight syrup. Had to ask other waiters to ask our server to come by our table. That said my lime chicken was good to bad I won't be back to try anything else. I don't like going to a restaurant and feelin like an inconvenience to the wait staff. Definitely wouldn't recommend. Food is always OK for the price, but for mine and my son-in-law's birthday weekend, I'm back in town and we are needing some Mexican food. The whole family always agreed with this place so off we go, especially for some margaritas. We told them 9 people, they said 20-30 minutes on a Friday night. No problem, we know that large of a group will take time. Waited an hour, still understood. But then they seated a group of 10 that got there 20 minutes after us. 1 hour and 25 minutes later, went to the manager, he could care less, they had a long wait now. So we left. The hostesses obviously don't know how to seat people and can't remember who was there first, and as long as there is a line the manager does not care. We finally got tired of getting jerked around, so we left and went to BJ's bar and grill, and they went out of their way to find us a spot immediately for our large group, even though they were packed. And their food was amazing! None in my family will ever go to a Los Cocos again! read more

My wife and I have been here twice. Both times we have been very impressed with the service. In Andover, you rarely get good service. Our servers were fun and engaging, and made the entire experience better. Drinks are good, the chips and queso are great. Not a big fan of the rice, but the portions are solid. Try the fish tacos. If there was a 0 Star option...I'd choose it. The food wasn't good. They put jalepenos in everything with out asking. They cover your food in queso. It's basically soup. If you want to have cheese and jalepenos for lunch or dinner come here. read more

We love this restaurant and eat here almost weekly! The staff is friendly and fast! The food is typical Mexican style and portions are large. We can share an order of fajitas and both feel full. They always have a $1.99 frozen or on the rock margarita in any flavor you choose. And 32oz beer that is so cold and a great price. read more

My husband and I go here often because it is close to home , the food is ok,but they have better margaritas , we generally get the same server and my husband always orders his food with no guacamole because he is highly allergic to avocados , I do not even risk cross contact by eating any because I do not want to send my husband into a anaphylactic shock. We went there last night 02/09/19 and my husband ordered a taco fajita salad with NO guacamole, he said he was allergic to the same waiter again , a different woman brought us our food and there was guacamole on top of my husbands food , he told her he is highly allergic to it , she took it away and our waiter brought my husbands food back out , I looked at it and said do not eat it they wiped the guacamole off and brought same dish out with the side broken out of the taco shell from scraping it out and the residue from the guacamole under the lettuce , are you kidding me? we got the attention of another person and told him he went to the back and brought out a new dish , we then seen the manager ( Leone) and we told him he got heated at us and said if we did not want to come back to the restaurant over one mistake that was up to us ?? Are you serious this mistake you made could have costed my husband his life , it's a pretty big deal and how often do they ignore people's allergies to food ???? He didn't even offer to adjust our bill he told us if we come back he will personally pay for my husbands meal .
