They use a microwave........why do restaurants think this is acceptable??? Drinks and service a great, the food not so much. But the use of a microwave to heat up the pork inside of my burrito and tacos (its the only way you get meat that hot) so it burns the skin cells in my mouth is a huge NO for me...no matter how strong the margaritas are! read more

Los Coscos in Andover is going downhill fast. My wife and I ate there regularly for the last several years and was very happy with the food & service until recently. We sometimes eat in the restaurant but usually order take out. The last 3 times we ordered take out our food was not ready at the time they said we could pick it up. In 2 of thee cases the desk person was unaware of our order and had to go "find' our food - last time this took 30 minutes. His attitude was also poor. Part of the problem might be his very limited English - but he did nothing to try to communicate. The effort was all on my side. In each of these last 3 visits the food was served cold and quiet frankly was not very good even when re-heated. I hope they improve but we have moved on to other Tex-Mex establishments. read more

Decided to eat here for lunch and the gentleman to greet us was not welcoming at all. His tone of voice was quite rude the entire time we were there. After being seated, he asked what we would like to drink, my boyfriend ordered a beer and i got a water. When checking his ID, he rudely grabbed it with a sigh and a snatch and stared at my boyfriend along with asking him questions making us feel as if we were being interrogated. The positives - super friendly staff, very out going, and welcoming. The restaurant was clean. They have some really good spicy salsa! Area's needing improvement - Service was incredibly slow. We had to ask for more water. We had to remind our server about the queso we ordered. The guacamole looked like it came out of a packet from the Dillon's across the parking lot. We are pleased and delighted withe the dining and service at this new Mexican restaurant. The decor is about the same type as most chain Mexican places We sat down to look at the menu. With some variation, the offerings are similar, so to judge the differences, I opted for the sampler platter. The waitress asked if I wanted chicken, pork or beef. I asked if it would be possible for some of each. Yes! Red or cheese sauce. Both? Yes. The chips and salsa were satisfying. The special was the $1.99 margarita, which was also good. I took my boys here from dinner and we had a very pleasant night. The food was good, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was very good. This place is meant to serve a lot of people quickly, so it gets loud. Not the best place to come for a quiet night with the family. However, that's not a bad thing. Absolutely the best fajita veggies I have had at a Tex-mex restaurant! Huge portion of chicken, juicy bell peppers and onions smothered is a delicious white queso for the fajita nachos. I was not a fan that the nachos on the bottom layer became too soggy from the liquid cheese after a minute or two of being served. However, the portion was huge and the toppings heated up very well the next day. If you like spice, ask for the spicier salsa on the side -- great flavor! Now, the reason for the average rating is due to poor service and strange atmosphere. Drinks were rarely filled and "spent" items on the table were left to clutter the dining space. We were offered another $1.99 house margarita quickly, but seemingly ignored for a bit after turning it down. In sum, I'd have no problem returning for the food and a second chance for a more positive rating. read more

I just got back from another excellent meal with my family, we went to Los Cocos in Andover. Today we ordered from the lunch menu for smaller sized meals because I we were not as hungry, and we knew the full sized meals are huge. I ordered the lunch enchilada. Not only was the food delicious just as it was the last time, but the portion even though it was the smaller lunch menu was still a nice amount of food for the money. We have eaten here several times, usually enjoy it. I didn't feel like going in, so we ordered on Yelp. We didn't get any salsa, cheese dip container was small. Ordered chicken fajita nachos, asked for the chips on the side. So they put them in a container with cheese. We ordered a kids meal of chicken fingers, he got one tender and two very small nugget sized pieces. Very disappointed in the service this time. Second or food came out cold and when we told the waiter and manager, the manager actually treated us poorly. He acted mad we had told him our food was cold.
