This is like Hank Williams, George Straight, Garth Brooks style country. Maybe I'm weird and they are spot on. Who knows? The food was out quite fast, which was great. I've never had a place put a chip in the beans so the overlapping taco shells don't get soggy. That was a huge win! It's the small things. The salsa bar was great. I really enjoyed the kick of the hot and green ones. The mild tasted a little weird. The tacos were tasty, the rice and beans slightly above average and solidly portioned. Food came out quickly and everyone enjoyed the dinner. The amazing service we received from a young waiter was exceptional - he remembered every dish without writing down an order - and was spot on. He checked on us, bringing out extra salsa quickly and efficiently. The restaurant is decorated in bright lively colors with typical Mexican decor. I do love cumin, but i prefer it to be balanced where it's indistinguishable from other spices, and in this taco beef, it was cumin forward. That being said, I'd eat it again over fast food any day. It's the service that made me give an extra star. Our server was friendly, fast, and helpful. So when I saw lamb birria on the menu, I had to try it. The tacos had a generous amount of tender, flavorful meat, and the consommé was rich and delicious. I especially appreciated that the tortillas had a light crisp to them, so they held together instead of falling apart when dipped into the consommé. The refried beans topped with cheese were creamy and perfectly seasoned. They also have a salsa bar with plenty of options, ranging from mild to very spicy, so there's something for every level of heat tolerance. Overall, this was a fantastic meal and exactly the kind of authentic Mexican food I look for when traveling. I would absolutely go back!
