The service sucks! The waitress treated us horrible because we didn't speak Spanish. I ordered a drink & when I told the waitress, I didn't like it, she said that she couldn't exchange it. She was so rude, so we got up & left. read more

Food took forever in which other people that got there after us got served first..idk why.. but the food was NOT worth the price & service was super slow due to only 2 waitresses. read more

use to love this place , but i recently went in and one of the workers completely watched me walk in and go to the register so i could pick up my order and she ignored me the entire time. then another lady walks in and the worker go straight to her and asks her for her pick up name. fuck that i never felt like that anywhere i've ever been she made me feel like i was a problem or something because why couldn't she help me ?watching her completely ignore me really triggered some type of anger in me. and it was completely dead inside the building so there was no excuse for her to ignore me like that. the other older lady was kind enough to help me out after the fact she was busy. i will no longer be coming here all to the fact of the way the worker made me feel. she was young and skinny, had make up on and dark hair in a bun. she needs to really learn to practice her customer service skills because she did not make me feel welcome at all. read more

Wow! How sad that service is so bad and I highly recommend some social skills to owner that obviously doesn't care that most reviews include employees bad service, not attentive to customers. As a former fast food owner for 8 years, I always made a point to my employees to give customers great service with a smile and they will come back and look forward to your service and smile. It seems that this place is being worked with family and nobody can fix the easiest thing customer service . To me this is so important besides good food and cleanliness of a business. I will not go back till I start reading more reviews on good customer service with good food reviews . read more

Crap service crap employees wouldn't recommend a visit ever... don't try wasting your time at this place . Terrible security it's trash and unprofessional read more

Worst pupusas ever save yourself a trip these suck. The cheese taste like its government cheese and they definitely use too much masa.

We pass by Bakersfield when visiting from LA and driving to Fresno. .. This is our must have stopping point to eat. Delicious pupusas and tamales! We now know just what to order here and get back on the road. Service is good/average but the food is great! Good process too. read more

The food is very bland. So disappointing since this place has a relatively high rating. Service was average. I wouldn't bother eating here.

Wow this place sucked! From the horrible food to the even more horrible service! My friends and I decided to go here on our lunch break (1hr), the waitress either was new or she just doesn't know how to treat customers! She took our order like 3 times and was so confused, i don't know what was wrong with her. They took so long bringing our order we decided to get it to go instead we spent 45 minutes waiting and waiting. The thing is there was NO ONE in the restaurant just my 3 friends & I. It's not like they were super busy and that's why they were taking forever. When we finally got our food it was not that great at all. The pupusas were BEYOND greasy. I've gone to several different places in Bakersfield and never had such nasty tasting pupusas. My experience was horrible there! I don't recommend it! read more

Great food! Great experience every time. Service can be a little quicker but other than that it's perfect. Empanadas de platano & tamales de elote are to die for. read more

Food is okay. Service is terrible. There was only one other couple in the restaurant, two waitresses, and I had to go up to the counter to ask for water because they did not check back on us. They would walk by us, but would not stop and ask if we needed anything. Had to go back to the counter and ask for the curtido and salsa because they forgot to bring it to us. Not friendly at all! The food is definitely not good enough for me to return and receive horrible service! read more

This place is authentic and yummy!!! Food is served hot and fresh. We all enjoyed eating here. Prices are great. Hostess are friendly. Great service. read more

The wait for food is rather long.. we haven't even gotten offered another refill on chips.. The papusas weren't the best..

What a hidden gem!! Fantastic food, EVERYTHING was fresh and authentic, definitely get some pupusas! Chicken fajitas were the best I've had in a long time. 5 stars! read more

Too overpriced. The food wasn't even all that, a little slice of carne asada was $15! The service was terrible, we had to ask for chips & salsa that you're usually supposed to get. She never checked up on how we were doing and the service overall was terrible. There's better Salvadorian restaurants read more

When I lived in Bakersfield, this is the place I went to fulfill my pupusa craving. Although I moved away, I still make visits to see family and etc. Since I was in town, I decided to drop in and order some pupusa's to go. I know calling in is the best way to go, but since it was a mere stop off for me today I came in without calling in the order. After I paid my order the waitress I kinda felt scolded to call in "for next time" and I told her that I was from out of town and she just gave me a plastic smile and left. Yeah, I can see customer service still hasn't improved since I left, Overall, it's the pupusas that bring me back, despite the lackluster service. I'll put up with less than stellar service if the food is good. I'm a HUGE fan of their pupusas. I haven't had any since I left good ol' Bako . So for me this is a HUGE treat to bring back. The only complaint I have is that they NEVER give enough cabbage. I order 5 papusas; yes 5 pupusas and all I got is ONE little sandwich bag of cabbage. (I've forgotten they are stingy with that-booo) This is the reason why I drop some stars on this place. One star off for the lovely customer service and lack of sides they give out. In the end, of course i'm going to be back! Unless, I can find another great pupusa place. The reason why I even came here in the first place is that my husband was a local plumber in Bakersfield, had a job over at the California location, and was impressed on how the owners empathized on cleanliness when he was there doing work for them. After watching Hell's Kitchen it makes you kinda scared to eat out anymore. LOL. ~Happy Eats~ read more

I'm a food lover and let me tell you the food at this place is so good and tasty fresh tomatoes and onion the food was hot and fresh the taste was un real. I give them a thums up because great service and great food. read more

I crave these pupusa's and enjoy the atmosphere. It's the only place that I go to for pupusas in Bakersfield. You can't go wrong

I went here for my birthday last year. I got the tasting menu, which was fabulous. The service here is outstanding, especially the soup course. The server was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and eager to explain and present the menu. Topolobampo is pretty expensive, but well worth it. I will definitely be back! read more

Anti-US citizens. I had an issue with the establishment recognizing the people of the United States..the country they operate in and the US currency they receive. I spoke with the person who asked for recognition for Mexico, Peru, San Salvador, Puerto Rico and other Latino Countries. I did not hear the good old USA asked to be recognized so I asked the person and he did recognize the US sarcastically. I asked to speak with the manager, I waited 10 mins and he came and said he was too busy to talk to me. My son who did a tour in Iraq and two in Afghanistan was not too busy to fight for him. Nor was I who served on the USAF to defend the right for this establishment to exist. Not to mention my father who volunteered to go to Korea, my cousins in Vietnam, my uncles in WW2 one who received the CMH for his efforts in Germany. I am Latino but an American Native. I will not apologize for supporting my COUNTRY. read more

Love this place easy to call in a order to go and staff is always friendly food is always hot and fresh

Five stars not bc of their establishment or their service, but bc their food is delicious. Our group had the sopa de gallena india asada, pupusas de rebuelta, and the desayuno tipico. Soup was well seasoned and the gallena was nice and tender, pupusas were extra fluffy and curtido was fiyaaaa, and the platanitos on the desayuno were delicious! read more

If you want terrible service and disgusting food, you've come to the right place. Parents let their children run around and scream all over the place like the pests they are. The waiters are not friendly and will not even try to smile at you. We get it, you hate your job but don't act like you are getting a root canal done. The food is cold and the portions are small. The beans are basically liquid and black. The waiters don't bother to come back Unless they want their tip. I wouldn't give this food to a death row prisoner. read more

I judge a salvadoran restaurant by their horchata, which was on point! They also have Pupusa Tuesday--buy three get one free, which is plenty for two people. read more

Food is great! Price is a bit high but I can see the quality and freshness in the food and thats the most important part. Great place to go.

I really enjoyed the queso papusa, the accompaniments are really authentic and tasty (the cabbage relish and sauce). I also had the baby corn tamale with creme which I highly suggest. Overall, a very friendly atmosphere, nice servers, and great food! read more

Popusas are delicious!!! Anytime I get the popusa craving this place hits the spot. My craving turns into satisfaction. Yummy.
