A great deal more work, than one probably suspects (including us), went into repairing our roof (removing tiles, replacing and priming dry-rotted wood, repairing and replacing tar paper and flashing, restoring everything back including replacing broken tiles which they supplied, painting the exposed flashing and vents to match the roof, installing a system to reduce the growth of moss, etc.). Attaching photos to illustrate just the repair on two of the dry-rotted areas, and a final one following the painting to show how incredible it looks now. It was discovered that improperly installed flashing was to blame for the dry-rooting, and that a 5th area was improperly installed and also repaired (even though signs of dry-rooting had not appeared, yet). Francisco Landeros is coming back today (9/17/2019) to perform a follow-up check of the roof after the painting was completed, to check and if necessary to replace any tiles broken from the painting. I highly recommend Landeros Quality Roofing Service and would call them again without hesitation for any future repair or maintenance of our home's roof. When the crew arrived, they assumed we had a flat roof like our neighbor's, forcing a postponement to order an airlift to lower our solar panels. - Delays and Understaffing: Because of the initial delay, only two workers were on-site for the first few days, working nearly 10-hour days. As a result, the job took over a week to complete. - Property Care Issues: The crew removed our skylights without covering the openings, which allowed debris into our home. While they covered the openings with plastic after the fact, this precaution should have been taken beforehand. - Workmanship and Leak Risks: Our primary reason for reroofing was existing interior wall damage. When our contractor inspected the work before repairing the interior walls, he discovered that Alta Cal had failed to replace the flashing, leaving the roof vulnerable to leaks where it meets the exterior wall. When they delayed addressing the issue, we had to pay our own contractor to fix it. - Inadequate Ventilation: The vents they installed provided insufficient airflow, causing the attic to overheat severely. We ultimately had to pay to install a dormer vent to restore proper circulation.
