This has become my "Go To" Jewel" since we moved into this area…read more 9 years ago. The one in Tinley Park is closer, but i've found quite a few employees to be very helpful and always friendly. Not to mention always working hard. One works in Produce, another in the Butcher Shop, and one in the Meat Dept. The employee who really impresses me is Leticia at the Customer Service Desk... she is always kind and friendly. I've never seen her even look at anyone the wrong way. Seems like many of the issues she has to deal with concern your "App" (I downloaded the latest update yesterday)... she goes out of her way to help us frustrated shoppers. I'm also used to seeing her run back-and-forth from her desk to the checkout registers, back room, etc! She helped me with another problem yesterday, and I left the store a camper. I'm in town for my cousin's graduation from medical school. Shes a physician now with a new MD! I…read morewanted to stop for a bouquet and balloon on the way to the ceremony, and the family friend I rode with suggested we stop at Jewel-Osco's floral department. There was no one manning the department and one customer already waiting when I arrived. I grabbed two bouquets and one mylar balloon for graduates. I went to the self checkout and the balloon showed an error message when scanned. The woman supervising the self checkout said there should be a separate bar code besides the one actually on the balloon from the manufacturer. She radioed over the intercom to get the staff member manning the floral department there to help. I went back there, waiting a couple minutes and no one showed up. I exchanged my balloon with a different identical one and that one didn't have a proper bar code either. I left the balloons and took the two bouquets (they were small so I got two for fullness). Since I actually got some flowers, I'm giving two stars rather than one. However, I wouldn't come back here. They seemed understaffed and the staff there weren't able to help much. And the flowers were meh and somewhat scanty.

The staff was friendly, fast, and attentive even during busy hours, and the restaurant was clean with a welcoming atmosphere. Sure the Jewel, ( not Jewels) is close by if you like tiny isles, long lines and waiting for a shopping cart cause they are all in the lot. This is a neighborhood store with friendly staff. Unique, local brands, with fair pricing. Sure they have product that have a short shelf life but it's clearly marked when it is sold at a great value. Some people on a budget might appreciate that. Butcher sets me up with bones for my dog. Ask the butcher at JEWEL do that. No shopping carts flying around in the lot either. They are in the store were they can be used.
