Extra points because it was surprisingly hard to find a halal restaurant that served local cuisine. Most served shwarma or pizza that was average at best. This place had a nice courtyard and the outside seating in a shaded area.
We had the salmorejo cordobes for a starter. It was cold cream of tomato with bread and olive oil. I really liked it and so did my wife.
We shared two main course dishes: the pastela de polio y verduras (chicken and vegetable patties). They were okay, they had a ton of dry turmeric inside which was odd but I would still order them again.
Rabo de toro (ox tail). I picked this because I saw it at every Spanish restaurant we had been to but couldn't try. Definitely the best dish we had! #1 for both my wife and myself.
For dessert we had the cordovan cake (average) and fruit juice made from some local fruit (I forget the name) but the juice was disgusting. Smelled and tasted odd.
Great restaurant overall. I definitely recommend it. read more
