When the haircut and beard trim finally began, the quality was far below what I've come to expect. The lines were uneven, my beard wasn't properly shaped or cleaned, and worst of all, the clipper used on my neck left multiple cuts. Not only was it painful, but the barber didn't acknowledge the damage or offer any apology -- just moved on as if nothing happened. At this price point, I expect professional service and attention to detail. Sadly, the quality and care have been steadily declining over time, and this last experience sealed the decision for me to take my business elsewhere. I found the location convenient, well kept and with a friendly staff. The front desk was well run, even on a day when no front desk employee was on site. The stylists managed well enough. She listened to my concerns, had wonderful recommendations and was realistic because my hair had been dyed twice before. She had to undo the dark brown box dye and then color it. Maria worked slowly to ensure my hair would lift to the color I desired and explained the process every step of the way. The end result was amazing!! Everyone was courteous and the salon is beautiful and clean. Rosie was new to the Salon but the way she cut my hair was with experience. She did a great job. She had a little mishap with the sink and my shirt got all wet but the cut and service were good. Upon check out the cashier asked if I lived close by. I moved to be close to my grandkids. She told me that the price for the service was 110. 00 dollars without tip. I realized I hadn't asked for the price of the cut before the service started. I paid but I was taken aback. The salon was by no means a luxury salon with amenities. I left with a wet shirt and hair on my neck. I didn't mind because the cut was great. I understand paying a hairdresser what they are worth. I honestly pay and compensate through tip. I did give a tip that day. I tried to call back for a second cut. I called and asked to talk with Rosie about her rates and the receptionist on the phone did not allow me to speak directly to Rosie. She told me 110.00 is the rate and that was it. I have several friends in the industry and I do know that if the hairdresser is renting the chair, she or he sets their own rates. I was disappointed to not have the opportunity to talk to Rosie. I would have been more than happy to have Rosie explain to me her rates. I would recommend this salon but I would caution you about rates before your service.
