Great school with awesome teachers! They offer an opportunity for someone to earn a certificate without being stuck with student loans.

Ok, so, eons ago I was one of the original students at this campus when it was named for that guy…read morewhom many believe invented the light bulb. I hadn't set foot on this campus in about 8 years until a few days ago. Now that being said, this review is a mixed bag, baby. I think that I had some great teachers at this college back at the time of Hurricane Andrew. I saved a huge stack of cash whilst pocketing an associates before shipping off to Gainesville for archi-torture school. However, not much has changed on this campus in 25 years. Sure, it's got a new name, mascot, a few new modern buildings, some minor pathways and relocation of some offices, etc. at this campus. But, walking around really brought me back to the early '90's and the time I spent knocking out my basic coursework fresh outta high school. That's not necessarily a bad thing, I am just a little curious as to why the student lounge and cafeteria have had almost no upgrades save for a flat screen tv, a newer ATM machine, but nothing to really make a budding college kid want to hang out on campus for several hours between classes on a Tuesday? I wanted to ask the two students that were actually in the darkened lounge, but they were so bored that they were crashed out on the vinyl couch that 1977 was calling about. Heck, the tv wasn't even on, so I couldn't blame them for counting a few sheep. Not a board game in sight, foosball, Xbox, ping pong, magazine....just a few vending machines and linoleum holding up the couch. Regardless, this is a small campus, always has been, but it is clean, well maintained, good location, and I am sure still providing a good, affordable education which is more important than anything. But, I think they could throw a few more bucks at making the student lounge more fun and attractive for socializing between classes....just the humble opinion of an alum. Oh, and just one final thought...was never a fan of the original name for the fraud inventor, so well done with that change and best wishes for the future. Thanks for hosting CCPS events like the recent STEM comp as well.

DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU SIGN ANYTHING WITH ATA COLLEGE…read more If I could go back in time, I would have chosen a different school for my daughter. Once you're locked into tuition payments, you're stuck, and that's when you start seeing things differently. My daughter enrolled to become a NURSE, not a CNA. Yet her externship placement has her spending her time in a nursing home doing work that feels far removed from the nursing education we believed we were paying for. We invested thousands of dollars expecting a professional nursing education and meaningful clinical experiences that would prepare her for a nursing career. The environment has raised concerns for me as a parent. Seeing a police officer regularly stationed outside the campus is not what I expected from a school that advertises itself as a place to build a healthcare career. Instead of feeling confident and inspired when I visit, I often leave questioning whether I made the right decision. What frustrates me most is the lack of follow-up when concerns are raised. Students and families deserve answers, communication, and support. When you're paying thousands of dollars, your concerns should matter. This school may not be the right fit for everyone. Before you sign enrollment papers, tour multiple schools, ask hard questions, investigate where clinicals and externships take place, talk to current students, read reviews, and compare graduation outcomes. I wish someone had warned me before I committed. Learn from my mistake. Don't let the sales pitch make your decision for you. Do your homework, ask questions, and make sure you're getting the education you are actually paying for.

tried very hard to avoid writing this review but the career source has continuously reached out for…read moreme asking for it. I think 1 asking for a review is tacky. 2 when i needed anything from this school, nursing program, or career sources it was extremely difficult, so they only act like they care when it benefits them. Career services knew I was taking a different path than most in my field. She then cut my meeting short when I had many questions and said she would reach out after graduation. She has reached out multiple times for a review, but not once helping me with employment or even reaching out to finish our conversation. The school has an entire career source program, and the first time i heard from them was on my final day of classes. They have not helped me in a job search nor any of my questions. I've asked multiple times for advice on how to navigate what I want to do and I've heard nothing. The lectures i sat through taught me nothing about real nursing and was basically how to coddle a grown adult. I learned more in 12 days to prepare me for the NCLEX then i did in the 2 years in this program. I've been in 2 other nursing programs, one bachelors and dropped out, second FSW and dropped due to covid, but those programs were much more structured and i learned much more in my time there. The skill days were a joke and reinacted with fake tools rather than learning how to do something. The skill days and labs in the other schools were much more real life. I think everyone learned only during oreceptor, even during clinical's we were not allowed to do anything or not wanted. The program itself was not helpful, the dean quit half way through my second last semester and was not available. Nobody took her place and students were not even informed regarding this, but rather swept under the rug and negatively effected our learning ang grades as we tried to reach out for help or advice and was told no. I was denied tutoring by a pregnant staff member because she had other priorities, she probably shouldn't have been teaching that semester then. The school hounds you on due dates and penalize you, but they can't stick to their own schedule and everything is chaos all the time. they forget to tell you things or tell you last minute then blame the students. I was an evening/ weekend student and ended up on days. I missed out on work and the school pretends small class sizes are designed to help you, when asking for help the teachers throw temper tantrums. I was bullied and singled out by those teachers as well as atleast 6 other students i know. The policy is looked aside for certain students and favoritism is very much a thing. Appeals have been made multiple students and they pick and choose who to help vs who to not. after paying 20k and making it to every class for 2 years, my friend was denied re entry after not passing her last 6 weeks, when other students have had their grades changed to push them through. I have photo evidence of all of this and will be reaching out for loan reimbursement.
