That was over five years ago and a miserable experience due to scheduling errors (including canceling without contacting me) and how they delivered care (the dentist made my lips raw). But when the dentist examined my teeth and told me I needed about $10,000 worth of dental work, I was in shock. She wanted to replace many of my crowns. I had been going to the dentist at 6-month intervals for over 30 years and never had any of them tell me that my teeth had any problems at all other than an occasional cavity, and it had probably been over 10 years since I'd even had one of those. I've been brushing 3 times daily and flossing once a day for many years. And I had no pain or dental problems in years. Dr. Nguyen told me that my insurance wouldn't cover much of it but there was financing available. She told me to make an appointment on the way out, which I most certainly did NOT do. The next day I called the last dentist I'd seen six months earlier (before moving), who'd been my dentist for the previous 13 years. I told him about my experience with Dr. Nguyen and, asked what his opinion would be, based on my last appointment with him 6 months earlier. He said the only way he would agree with Dr. Nguyen would be if I was leaving for Africa the next day and would be in an area where there would be no access to a dentist for the next ten years. He said my crowns would wear out, and one was close to doing so, but if I was seeing a dentist every six months there was absolutely no reason to replace them all now. They could be replaced as needed. That was all I needed to hear. I found a different dentist who essentially told me the same thing, and over a year later I still have all the same crowns without a single problem. Ever get the feeling that someone's giving you a quote for something while thinking about how they're going to pay for their extravagant vacation? Yeah, me too. My only regret is that I really liked the hygienist who had cleaned my teeth there. If she reads this, I'd like her to know that she had nothing to do with my dissatisfaction there.

An Ai bot, (at the time I didn't know it was Ai) asked to schedule a cleaning and checkup for me over text and I agreed. It scheduled me for today, July 10th. The bot never notified the staff about it. I showed up and the people at the front desk were at a loss as to why I was there. We finally figured out it was an Ai bot. To the people making decisions about Ai in this, and all other establishments, quit it with the Ai already. It's making things worse not better. Katie, the Ai bot at CH Dental, you suck. I came in for a routine exam and cleaning and was told -- based on 6-month-old x-rays, that I now needed two crowns, possibly even a root canal, and a deep cleaning. What was frustrating is that at my previous appointment no dentist mentioned any of these issues or recommended treatment. Had I been properly informed at that time, I could have started treatment sooner and used last year's dental benefits instead of being faced with a large out-of-pocket estimate all at once and now needing a root canal. After spending about an hour and a half at the appointment, I left with an estimate of roughly $4,200 out of pocket and very little clarity about why this information wasn't communicated earlier. When I expressed my concerns, the response was dismissive. I looked at the paperwork I was given after the appointment and it showed that my insurance was billed for services -- including a cleaning, X-rays, and dental photos -- that were not done during that visit. I plan to follow up directly with my insurance provider to report this. This was so disappointing and I don't want this fraud and malpractice to happen to anyone else.

Upon checking in, I am heading back within minutes. From the outside to the chair, it is clean. It is quiet and empty each time I come in. The employees are wonderful. Super helpful with scheduling appointments and are very kind. They are gentle every step of the way. So that I am comfortable, the assistant tells me what they will be doing before each step. I am in and out of their chair within 30 minutes.
