I was extremely hesitant to go to Dr. Mendiola because of my issues with previous doctors. I never felt listened to and I always felt like other doctors just threw any sort of medication at me, which actually resulted in a couple of hospital visits because of the harsh side effects of the medications. Dr. Mendiola restored my trust in the system and not only helped me find what works with my body and mind, but he also treats me like a person instead of just another patient. He also referred me to my therapist (who has now passed) but his referral to her changed my life entirely. With his care and commitment to his patients, and his excellent referrals, I truly feel like I'm the person I was always meant to be. I do have to say though...if you've gotten this far in my review...just remember...meds can only do so much regardless. A person can't change unless they put the time and effort to do so. So if you're thinking that meds will cure you entirely, that's not the case. For me, meds help make things clearer and help me to assess what I feel (which is what therapy is also for). Sort of like a car needing both the engine and wheels to work and move. As a side note: His team is also so kind and just as attentive (a little shoutout to Dhelia as well). I'm truly grateful for being referred to Dr. Mendiola.

I was, I verified it with my insurance, and had to go back and forth with them and their billing office multiple times. At this point it's been over three weeks since I started trying to get an appointment. I finally get them to agree to take an app time for me after all of this. I take off work early to go to it only to find out they never saved my appointment and it didn't actually exist. How does this office expect someone in mental health crisis to ever navigate this process and advocate for themselves when the office won't do their job and even save your appointment in their books?!

If you have forgotten to set an appt they will call you and set one up. If you need anything they will definitely get you an answer . They are the hub of Dr office and the way they go above and beyond makes a huge difference in scheduling . Which in turn makes appts on time .
