My Wife is a huge pizza fan. She could eat it every day. So I mentioned in passing that this might be a different type of setting. And it was indeed. Super clean. Red and black all the way through. We both ordered a beer and My Wife got a personal pan pizza. It was eight dollars with two dollars per topping. I ordered the Michigan chicken, cherry salad. We had got there around five and the place was steadily filling up as we sat. Mary, our waitress was very knowledgeable and kind. We felt fairly good about what we had ordered. But let me tell you once we got it, it blew our minds. My wife's pizza was outstanding. She said maybe the best she's ever had. I rolled my eyes and then she offered me a bite. And it was. Truly. A lot of times when you order pizza it's falling off of the crust. It's uneven. This was perfection. She couldn't believe it. Frankly neither could I. The crust was soft and you couldn't tell it from the toppings. No separation nothing falling off and cooked so well. My chicken cherry salad is a favorite in Michigan and they did it right. Each portion was great and more than enough for the both of us. We talked about it the rest of the night. If you have the chance, make sure you visit. It's one of a kind and one of the best experiences we have had for old favorites made new.

Today, we originally started thinking we would head over to the Frankenmuth Brewery, it has been a while since we ate here.Though no fault of their own, we decided after putting our name in to opt out. We had a great parking spot too. We then left and repaired 100 yards down the road. Probst has always been a great go to but we still weren't sold on going back. Wife said let's try Tiffany's and maybe sit outside. It was a beautiful day, why not. Our hostess Lynn was multi tasking but was kind and took our name, guided me to the outside bar and a minimal wait. From there Jacob maid my wife a Tito's and Tonic, me a Sam Adams Cherry Wheat beer. We weren't half way done with our drinks when Lynn said she had a table for us. Menu was simple, prices fair, service was outstanding, view of the street and passer's by spectacular. We opted for the turkey club and chips and my wife the German Kielbasa with peppers and sauerkraut. We did also peek in, and use the bathrooms- clean. Overall, glad we tried this place and definitely will be back.

After looking at the menu, we came to the realization that there's only a few actual Italian dishes served. More of a family American restaurant; however, they do have Stromboli and pizza pies on their menu. Must say that their mixed drinks are extremely reasonable. They did not have Compari to make a Negroni and substituted Aperol. Overall, not a bad drink, especially at only $5! My wife had one of their specialty cocktails which was only $7 but too sweet for my taste buds. We ordered their garlic cheese bread with sauce, little did we know it was actually a 12 inch pizza with lots of mozzarella served with sauce! It was actually pretty good but way too big. I tried their Gonzalo steak tips while my wife ordered their pizza Margarita. Although the flavors in the Gorgonzola steak tips were nice there was only about five steak tips with of pasta and sauce. My wife's margarita pizza was presented well and the slice. I had tasted pretty good. We sat at the bar and had excellent service from Lucas. He was a fine young man who was affable and professional. If we do go back, we would try the Stromboli as it looked delicious!

There was a man there who was so drunk, he couldn't keep his eyes open. The barmaid was telling us a story about a customer missing her phone and her boyfriend had it. The man said "it was a black man." The barmaid told him that was irrelevant. He said it was. She finished her story. A few minutes after the man says randomly. "It's like white ice and black ice. Slip on black ice and your wallet is going to get stolen." Both the barmaid and female patron told him to stop multiple times. Rather then entertain bigotry, my friend and I started a side conversation not speaking to him. You can't fix stupid. After further research I learned he was the owner Michael Schultz! A friend had recommended the brewery and said they had good pub food so we decided to dine here. We dined outside on the patio and had a perfect view of the river below. We even ended up seeing the paddle boat as it docked!! I had a mocktail which contained housemaid watermelon juice, and ginger beer and was very refreshing. My nephew ordered a pizza with pepperoni and cheese, and I ordered the fish and chips. Both of us were shocked when the pizza arrived as its size was far from personal pizza size . It was at least a medium! You could tell it had been made in a pizza oven. The crust was nice and crispy and golden brown with a little bit of char on the back. Yum.!! My nephew who is somewhat of a pizza connoisseur said it was very good. It was loaded with cheese and plenty of pepperoni too. My fish and chips were supposed to be beer, battered in one of the ales that they make here but in all honesty it really didn't taste like it to me. It tasted like a standard frozen cod that had been pre-battered so I was disappointed. It wasn't that it wasn't tasty. It just was not what I expected. The coleslaw was also quite interesting. I'm not sure what it was made of, but it was not the shredded cabbage style, but I am used to -the french fries were french fries - nothing spectacular and did not taste like they had been fresh cut. I had asked our server what was more popular between the fish and chips and the schnitzel and she had advised the fish and chips were more popular and her own personal preference. We were both too full to even take a look at the dessert menu and again had plenty of food left over. My nephew took his pizza with him. Service was very good being outside. I know it had to have been kind of a pain to come and check on us periodically but our staff member did so with perfect frequency. I think I'd definitely return here to try a burger, but I can't recommend the fish and chips. My nephew definitely recommends the pizza.!!

The restaurant itself is very homey and pleasant, with the wall murals adding to the traditional Bavarian atmosphere. The food was good, although I wouldn't say it was great. The bratwurst were good, and I particularly enjoyed the sauerkraut. It had a nice flavor and wasn't overly tangy, which I appreciated. The biggest drawback was the service--it was very slow. This is definitely not the place to choose if you're looking for a quick meal or are already hungry and want to eat right away. Plan to settle in and give yourself plenty of time. Being located inside the Bavarian Inn Lodge gives Oma's a steady stream of customers, and there's certainly something to be said for the convenience of simply walking downstairs and having a meal without leaving the property. However, with so many dining choices in Frankenmuth, I would probably explore some of the other options first and save Oma's for when convenience is the priority or other choices are limited. Overall, pleasant atmosphere, decent German food and very convenient for Lodge guests--but the slow service keeps it from being a restaurant I'd go out of my way to visit.
