I have been a member of Gold's-Waxahachie for approximately 4 years along with my wife and sons. I…read morehave been a member of weight-training gyms for 45 years, in multiple states from coast-to-coast, and continue to maintain memberships at other health clubs. My point- I am not a rookie-- my experience certainly lends creditability to my comments! First, the staff at Gold's has always been courteous, and they have great clientele. And the gym is always open as scheduled, even during very inclement weather. I appreciate that dedication! I often train twice a day- cardio at lunch, weight training in the evenings. For nearly a year now, I have been using one of the stationary bikes in the cycling room for cardio at lunch when inclement weather prevents cycling outdoors. And I am currently training for a 100 mile, Century ride, so I need the miles! I am almost always alone, and leave the bike and room as found (or better!). One day, however, the room is locked, and I am told I can no longer use these bikes. I ask to see the manager. He finally finds the time to talk with me, and states "I have decided today that we are going to charge $29.99 a month to use bikes in that room." This is in addition to the monthly dues. I then ask if everyone who is in the cycling classes does so. He states that they all pay the fee. He seemed very surprised when I agreed to pay the additional monthly fee, even though I would not attend the classes--- as long as they could unlock the room when I arrived. Over the course of the year, this usage averages about 1-2 days a week- some weeks zero, others 3-5. I thought the charge was extreme- given that I may go several weeks without needing to ride indoors, but again, the convenience and lack of other options left me little choice. However- upon further investigation, I could not find one single member who joins the cycling class that pays the fee! There may be some who pay- but I know a fair amount of the regular clientele, and each of these regulars were very puzzled by the thought of an extra fee. I mentioned this to the manager. I am now waiting for the other shoe to drop.........and get my refund. This could be the final Jeopardy question, the Daily Double! (inside joke). Thanks, happy lifting, Paul M

RUN AWAY. They have a contract that will hide a one year membership in the "one month zero…read morecontract" membership. ANY 1 month purchase will automatically sign you up for a year. I wanted to try it for a month, didn't like anything about this gross gym, so I stopped going . 1 year later, I get hit with debt collection. They'd automatically signed me up after the one month no contract "new membership agreement" Don't even go for a free session. Run, don't walk away from this gym. Typical big brand scam. Even ChatGPT is aware of this gyms scam, ask it. Good luck ever canceling. Don't believe me? Just try calling the corporate number and listen to the automated voice tell you to call your local gym and that they do not help with member services or cancellations. Then call this gym, you won't get through. They make it impossible. They don't send you the agreement until after you've completed the registration. They hide the type of contract in the language and is all extremely slimy. To cancel you must: (1) deliver written notice in person to your Home Gym (2) send written notice to: Gold's Gym ATTN: Customer Care, 5420 Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway, Suite 300, Dallas, TX 75240 or (3) email notice to Cancellations@goldsgym.com. Notice shall be accompanied by evidence of membership. If mailed, certified mail return receipt requested is recommended. Subject to applicable law, your account must be current and in good standing before cancellation requests under this section will be processed.

Do not go here if you are pregnant, I went in the other day for the first time. I am 32 weeks…read morepregnant, and was under the impression that this place had prenatal experience. Wrong, if he does then he was still extremely unprepared. There was no pillow or accommodations for having a pregnant belly. He had me lay on my stomach on the normal table, at 32 weeks pregnant! He even said "Well what are we gonna do here" then popped a small shelf into the table for me that was definitely not big enough. At one point without asking or telling what he was doing first he pulled my shorts extremely low and put icy hot on me with his bare hands wayyyyyy lower than I was comfortable with. During the whole adjustment he asked me how I was doing maybe twice, while the rest of the time he talked about colleges and asked where my husband went, then asked if I went to college and then since I didn't telling me that was fine and plenty of people do fine with our going... Thanks how about you just do your job and stop giving me your "approval" over a decision I really don't care for your opinion on. And maybe talk me through what you're about to do to me first instead of just abruptly cracking me with no warning.
