Paver patio and center of backyard

With the economy in good shape home building and home sales are keeping all of the landscapers in high demand. I decided to call 5 or 6 out to my newly built house to see what they could do for my backyard of dirt. A few did show up (none of them arrived at the promised time except Tony) and they gave me rough estimates of what they could do but no drawings or solid estimates followed. Tony from Lopez Landscaping provided us with a detailed drafted of his vision for our backyard naming trees and plants he planned on putting in along with a price. We looked it over and told him we would get back to him. We asked if we could scale back on what money we had to work with with and he promptly came back with modifications which sealed the deal. He is extremely professional, shows up on time and so do his workers. They did a wonderful job and made our backyard a place that we can enjoy for many years to come! Thank you Tony, Lisa, Jose and crew! Tom S

Tony and his crew just finished the backyard at our new home, and we couldn't be happier! The yard design included a focal point palm with curved walkways and pathway and tree accent lighting. All the plants and citrus trees we discussed putting into the landscape were selected for sun exposure with the pool taken into consideration. Everyone is very friendly and concerned about doing a good job for the homeowner. Tony is very professional, worked with our budget, and obviously knows plants and design. He is very helpful with suggestions and ideas. He is also good about last minute additions like our pool equipment barrier that was not planned originally. Tony and his crew are very efficient and work to get the job done! The people in the office are very friendly too and helpful!! We are very pleased with the finished design. And so is our dog. He has his own patch of turf he can play on!

Are these guys reasonably priced for a super overgrown yard? Weeds, cleaning up under a fruit tree, trimming back small shrubs and trees? We want to work with someone with integrity who charges fair prices.

Absolutely Transformed Our Property -- Couldn't Be Happier!…read more We hired Nature's Best Landscaping Service for a complete outdoor overhaul, and the results are nothing short of stunning. From start to finish, Jeff and his crew delivered on every promise -- on time, on budget, and with craftsmanship that exceeded our expectations. The scope of work was significant: full lawn re-landscaping with new rock, a beautiful new paver patio, an outer patio and porch extension, and a walkway connecting the driveway to the back patio. On top of that, they installed a full irrigation system serving all our trees, shrubs, and pots in both the front and back yards. It's a lot of work -- and they made it look effortless. Jeff, the owner, was a pleasure to work with from day one. He was communicative, professional, and clearly passionate about doing things right. He listened to what we wanted and offered smart suggestions that made the final result even better than we had imagined. And then there's Juan -- we nicknamed him "the machine," and if you ever see him work, you'll know exactly why. Tireless, skilled, and meticulous, Juan was an absolute standout. The whole crew brought real talent and a great attitude to the job every single day. If you're looking for a landscaping company that treats your home like their own, Nature's Best is the one. We'll be customers for life.

Joey came out to do the quote and was quick, efficient, and explained what to expect. I received the estimate later that same day as promised and the price was fair. When I approved the quote we talked about color options, and he recommended the "Native" color. I wanted something neutral but with a little character in a herringbone pattern, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. He also mentioned darker tones tend to hold up better in the Arizona heat since lighter colors fade faster. The only hiccup was the scheduling process. They require a deposit before scheduling, which made me a little hesitant. I was told I'd get a call later that day to set the install date, but it took a couple follow-up calls before we actually got it confirmed. The office staff was always very polite and helpful though. On install day, I had given instructions on where materials could be placed since I live in a townhouse complex, but the pavers ended up being left in the grass overnight instead. Luckily everything was fine. I later found out the superintendent originally assigned to my project got sick, so another team member stepped in and didn't have all the details from our earlier conversations, which probably explains the communication mix-up. That said, once the work started the crew moved quickly and finished within the expected timeframe (about three days). The final result looks great and I'm very happy with the finished project.

Poor communication and project management; still incomplete after 3+ months…read more We hired CitiScapes for a travertine paver and turf installation. The crew's craftsmanship on the travertine was genuinely good, but everything around project management and communication fell short. Owner Kendall repeatedly gave us specific dates and times for work to happen, which were then missed without proactive updates -- we had to chase him for status on nearly every phase. Demo also ran long, and the crew failed to clear debris from our driveway in time for Easter; we ended up using Facebook Marketplace to get people to haul away leftover materials ourselves. The turf installation has been the most disappointing part. For what we paid for a premium product, the seams are visibly poor. It took five weeks just to get a crew out to attempt a repair, and that attempt made the seam lines worse. We now have a tentative date for another repair, but given the pattern of missed commitments, we're not confident it will be honored. At one point we went over a month without any contact from them - until they called asking for payment, and we had to push back to get anyone out to the site. The project started before Easter. It's now nearly August, and it's still not finished. If clear communication and reliable follow-through matter to you, I'd be cautious about pursuing CitiScapes.

We got 5 different quotes, and even though they came in higher than some, they do a great job of educating you on why, and they have all the receipts to back that up. We went with them for that peace of mind, the unmatched warranty, and knowing it would be done correctly and not falling apart in a couple years. They way they manage the entire project from the first to last step, is a constant reminder on why they are worth it. They run this ship like a well oiled machine! Every appointment was so professional, always on time, and always informative. From the very first appointment with Joe, he was so kind and personable and informative. He really treats the whole appointment like an educational session, and I understand why now. I was thankful for all the information, and how non-salesy he is, no pressure and just really comfortable and detailed as well. He provided very professional, detailed drawings and photos of what it would look like. When we met the project manager, Chris, he was just as friendly and personable and informative. He kept us updated at every step, and was on top of every detail. He always texted us updates, and very communicative. The crew they sent out - AMAZING. Not only did they get the job done in half the time, but their attention to detail was above and beyond! They were very friendly, and top notch on their work ethic. On the final clean up day, I was expecting maybe an hour of tidying up, but what I got was one extremely dedicated guy that spent 5 hours METICULOUSLY double checking every inch of my entire yard, even the areas that they did not work on. He cleaned every inch of our yard, the street, the driveway and even part of our neighbors! He held a level AGAIN at every section of the pavers and double checked it, and then he cleaned and cleaned and cleaned. Every time I thought he was almost done, he'd come back with a new tool for more cleaning. Truly, I've never seen a crew work so hard and diligently and be so scrupulous with their attention to detail. You also get a portal to track the entire project, and to access all the warranty and contract docs that no one wants to file anyway. I would highly highly recommend System Pavers for any project, and we will absolutely use them again. Thank you!

We chose System Pavers because they were the premium option. They were also the highest bid we…read morereceived (around $38,000), but we believed we were paying for quality, expertise, and project management. Their sales presentation was impressive, and we were told they would coordinate everything for our pool patio remodel. Unfortunately, our experience looked nothing like the polished videos we were shown. The project stretched from February 5 until May 14 and required constant homeowner involvement. Instead of having a project manager ensuring the work met quality standards, I felt like I became the project's quality-control inspector, inspecting every stage of construction, discovering mistakes, documenting issues, and asking for them to be corrected. I expected to hire a contractor. Instead, I spent three months acting as the quality-control inspector for my own project. During the project we dealt with broken pool pipes, damage to our pool aerator, fill tank, and underground plumbing, uncapped sprinkler lines beneath the patio, missing weed barriers, uneven pool coping, improper edging, damaged landscaping, and extensive construction debris left throughout our property and neighboring yards. In addition, several pieces of our personal property were damaged or destroyed, including a broken pool net, broken garden hoses, a seven-foot wooden shade post that workers used as a cutting surface, and a planter that was thrown away after crews moved retaining wall blocks to drive equipment through our yard. We also endured weeks of piles of pavers, dirt, rocks, and construction materials stacked in front of both our home and neighboring properties, along with plastic bottles, McDonald's bags, and other food waste left behind by crews. One thing that became obvious was the lack of communication between departments. The salesperson promised certain things that the installation crews clearly never knew about. For example, we specifically discussed reusing our landscape rock, but it was thrown away during demolition because that information never reached the crew. Customer service became increasingly frustrating. When we emailed management documenting workmanship concerns, we received little response regarding the actual problems but had no trouble receiving payment requests. During one phone call, the project manager told us, "We thought the ship had sailed on customer service." Hearing that after months of issues was incredibly disappointing. One issue that really damaged our trust involved the sprinkler system beneath the patio. When water started shooting through the middle of the new pavers, we were initially told the lines had definitely been capped and it must simply be leftover water. Once someone inspected the problem in person, the response became, "Oh, we must not have capped them." Because multiple pool components had already been damaged during demolition, I insisted on having the underground plumbing pressure tested before resurfacing the pool. That test found additional damage that required repair before the pool could be completed. Had we not pushed for that testing, the pool company told us hidden leaks could have remained beneath newly installed plaster. Near the end of the project, I refused to sign the Certificate of Completion until the remaining work was finished. I was initially told work would have to be delayed if I didn't sign first. After refusing, management then said they would finish the work regardless of my signature. That experience left me questioning why there was so much pressure to sign paperwork before the project was actually complete. To be fair, not everything was negative. The second project manager, Jose Corral, completely changed the direction of the project. He was knowledgeable, honest, respectful, and immediately recognized many of the quality issues that had been overlooked. He worked hard to make things right and deserves recognition because he was the one person who consistently treated us like valued customers. I understand that construction projects can have unexpected challenges. My frustration isn't that everything didn't go perfectly--it's that we paid premium pricing and repeatedly had to advocate for issues that should never have occurred in the first place. Looking back, I don't regret investing in our home--I regret having to spend three months acting as the quality-control inspector on a premium-priced project. Homeowners shouldn't have to monitor every phase of construction just to ensure the work is completed correctly. If you're considering System Pavers, keep detailed written records, photograph every phase of the project, inspect everything before it gets covered up, and don't sign completion paperwork until every punch-list item has been completed. We initially had concrete in mind, but Jason let us know he got of out concrete and primarily does pavers, as they look better and are stronger. We honestly just assumed pavers would be out of our price range, but opted to get a quote to remove a few sections of our walkway to add the driveway, raise the wall and then a quote to pave around our shed. Though the quote may not have been the cheapest, we also added a project and the over value and product could not be beat.
