I stopped in shortly after opening and purchased two 9/16" rubber washers for approximately $1. Since I didn't have cash, I used my debit card. The cashier informed me there was a $3 minimum purchase requirement. When I said I did not need anything else, a man I assume was the owner told the cashier to simply add $2 as "labor" to reach the minimum. I found it strange that I was charged an additional $2 for no product or service. Although it was only $2, it was still money taken from my pocket for nothing. After leaving, I recalled that businesses are generally prohibited from imposing minimum purchase requirements on debit card transactions. I called the store to discuss the issue, but the person who answered, whom I believe was the same individual, abruptly hung up. I then returned to the store, where he was waiting near the entrance. When I showed him information regarding the law as it relates to debit card minimums, specifically 15 U.S.C. § 1693o-2 (Durbin Amendment to the Dodd-Frank Act) he responded, "I was the one who hung up on you. I don't care. Have a nice day. Go tell your President." Regardless of the amount involved, what disappointed me most was the attitude and lack of professionalism displayed by the owner. I have always tried to support local businesses, but after this experience, I will not be returning. The $2 isn't the issue. The issue is an owner who apparently believes the rules don't apply to him and treats customers with contempt when they're brought to his attention. I hope the appropriate agencies and card networks share his confidence.

I asked for help from the helpful hardware man. I believe I was helped by the store manager, who was asking me questions like he was the customer and I was the employee. Why do you need 6 screws when it came with 12. Do you need 3/4 ? I don't know what is 35mm? Eventually, we both decided what screw that I needed, and I proceeded to make my way to check out. I saw that there was a sponge for 3.99 note in corner that this sponge has been priced 3.99 since 2/22. Not a bad price so I go to buy the sponge and screws. The lady checks me out and sponge rings up 4.59 And I immediately say wait the sponge is like 389 or 399. It's definitely under four dollars. She replies it rang up 4.59 so that's what it is. I said well if you would go look your price is marked differently. She said I can just tell you that this is what it rang up and this is how much it cost. I did buy it because I needed the sponge, but I went back and took a picture and showed the manager the same manager that helped me with the screws who is not far from the cash register and they both left about the fact that I went and showed them that it was 399 and she charged me 4.59. And said oh well Scott needs to fix the prices looks like Scott missed this one oh well. I don't know why they think that they're entitled to 50 extra cents. I just think it's shameful and there's plenty of Ace Hardware's. That have way better attitudes. If you're looking for a helpful hardware person do not go to this Ace Hardware

This ACE has repeatedly saved me time and money by suggesting better solutions for home repair. The selection is surprisingly good also and usually has at least a couple of solutions to every home repair problem. Just ask and they will tell you the best solution! On one occasion I had called a professional plumber who declared my kitchen plumbing problem "too hard" with the plumber complaining about the depth of the sink and the relatively high location of the single drain pipe (for three drains). The plumber then slipped out the back, leaving me to solve my own problem. I took a trip to the ACE and the associate at this ACE spent over an hour helping me solve this plumbing problem, with the ACE associate placing more than a dozen plumbing parts on the floor in the proper order... I went home and by the end of the day it was working. On another occasion, I went to this ACE thinking I would buy some WD-40 to loosen rusted screws in order to remove a broken screen door. The ACE associate showed me the WD-40 but then suggested an alternate product "PB Blaster" which I purchased on their recommendation. I returned home and applied the PB Blaster to the rusted screws on the screen door. Several screws were rusted on tight and resisted my efforts to loosen them. The instruction for the PB Blaster advises waiting a few minutes for the Blaster to soak in, so it seemed like a good time to take a lunch break. I returned from lunch to find the rusted screws popped out, and the screen door on the ground. Wow, just wow. So, if there is such a thing as a home repair magician, these guys are it! Highly recommended.

The staff appeared quite attentive. The Home Depot was conveniently located. There was a large parking lot that made using the store easier. There were also stores nearby that were appealing, e.g., Super Target, Dollar Tree, O'Reilly's AutoParts. I appreciated having self checkout as an option.

They have great artist set for about $10. I walked in, walked directly to the paint section, grabbed the brushes, and utilized the self checkout. I was self sufficient so I did not experience any problems. They do ask for exact change on the cash self checkout due to the penny being removed from circulation. I miss their free Starbucks machine from pre-COVID times, haha!

That's pertinent because the bulbs were really specific and vintage looking. I ended up being helped by Jason, the owner of the hardware store. He was extremely knowledgeable and even pointed out that I had the wrong ol' lady bulbs in my hand for the ceiling fan. We traded a little small talk after that and then his equally helpful wife helped me ring up my purchase. I really just wandered in here wanting to avoid going to Home Depot. I appreciated the opportunity to support this small business and meet/connect with its owners. I surely intend on going back whenever I need more hardware stuff for my home.
