Today my daughter had dental surgery to have her wisdom teeth removed. Everything was fine until…read morethey told me she was done and asked me to move my car to the front to help her get in. She came out crying, and the staff said some people get emotional after anesthesia, which I understood. Once she was in the car, I asked if she would be getting any pain meds. The staff member said it should have been sent to the pharmacy and went inside to check while I buckled my daughter in. She came back and told me which pharmacy it was sent to. But no one had given me any pre-op instructions--no sheet, no explanation, nothing. They just handed me gauze, an ice pack, and a syringe. I ran back inside and asked the girl at the front desk if there were any instructions, and she said there wasn't anything. I didn't argue because my daughter was still under anesthesia and sitting in the car--I didn't want to risk her getting out or wandering into the street. I thought they'd at least go over the medications or instructions before we left, but nothing. Later, I called the office to ask about the post-op instructions, and of course no one answered. The answering service tried calling them too, and still no one picked up. So I took my daughter home, got her settled, and then had to drive 30 minutes back to the office just to ask for the instructions in person. When I got there, the girl at the front desk was ready to hand me a sheet of instructions like it was no big deal. I told her this was very inconvenient--I had to drive home, then back to the office, and then back home again, just because they didn't hand me one simple sheet of paper before we left. They made it very clear that I had to stay in the office the whole time, and I did. So why couldn't they do their job and make sure I had everything I needed before walking out the door? While I was explaining all this, the office manager, Whitney Mitchell, interrupted me to say she apologized. But I was already upset because maybe if she hadn't had her child in the office distracting her and keeping her from doing her job, this wouldn't have happened. Maybe if she had told the other girl to give me the instructions before I left, I wouldn't have had to drive all over Killeen trying to get basic information about my daughter's care. This was a stressful and frustrating experience that could have been completely avoided with a little communication and professionalism. Because of Whitney Mitchell's lack of professionalism and poor handling of this situation, our family will not be returning. Every time we've moved, we've made sure to stay with this dental company. But after today, we won't be doing that anymore. We also will not be referring this office location to other military families, which we've done in the past. This was an unnecessary and stressful experience that could have been easily avoided.

I'm Sitting in the waiting room - so far over an hour past our scheduled time. Apparently, there's only one dentist and one assistant on staff. Clients who's appointments were scheduled after us are being called back. I'm confused. And the young lady at the front desk was snarky the whole time. Not just to me, but listening to her conversations on the phone as well. Update : An hour and half later and we have been brought back. The dentist is doing the actual exam AND the cleaning. No Hygienist on staff. The dentist, as sweet as he is, we can tell he is really overwhelmed. We religiously have dental cleanings every six months. And this is the worst my daughters gums have bled ... EVER. He was so rough with the scraping and it didn't seem like he took his time. No polish. She's 16 years old and sitting in the car in tears. He said she's going to need her wisdom teeth out, and They gave us a referral to see an oral surgeon outside of the office... Since they don't have an oral surgeon on staff (despite what the website states). I didnt make another appoint. I feel like we're going to change dentist office within the same network and drive over 45 minutes away. (Also if you're looking for a dentist that takes Medicaid... I overheard them several times turning patients away. The dentist is not qualified to take Medicaid. I guess Humana was telling them the dentist is authorized? these poor elderly clients took a city bus to get there - just to be told the dentist isn't quailed to see them. )

I needed to get fillings for my front teeth, due to chipping. I was referred to an off post…read moredentistry. When I walked in I was greeted by the front desk. They were nice and the area was nicely decorated. I noticed the seating area was fairly small with only 2 useable chairs. When I got called back the dental assistant was really quiet, having to guess what was going on. The dentist was nice asking me along the way how things were going. I noticed a cold sensation on my front two teeth, whenever I was uncomfortable I said something about it to the dentist. Then the dental assistant smacks me saying "you should've said something girl". Feeling like this was very unprofessional I forgot about it. Whenever the fillings were complete I was waiting for the dentist to give me a mirror and ask how the teeth look. When the dentist leaves, I am left guessing if I'm done or not, with no one really saying anything until the assistant comes back in and says "oh you are done wait in the lobby for your paperwork". 5 days later I'm eating popcorn and my tooth chipped again.
