There is a horseshoe bar out in the room, making it easy for people to get drinks without having to line up, and the open space is very flexible, allowing lots of different layouts. We had 120 guests, and all the tables fit in with a good sized dance floor, fireplace sitting area, buffet, bar, and we still had plenty of space to move around. There is a beautiful green space out back that is great for yard games, or other outdoor activities, and the front porch with rocking chairs looking out on the course is a relaxing space for guests to take a breather from the festivities. On top of being an excellent space, the owners are friendly, helpful, and willing to work with you on whatever you want to do with the space. The only downsides are that you need to provide your own decor/table settings, and that the space is not heated or air conditioned. I don't know how much could be done about the air conditioning in a hot season, but the two fireplaces handle heating the place just fine for even an early spring or late fall wedding. It was 40 degrees the day of our wedding, and we ended up having to open the doors to cool it off because it was so warm in there with both fires roaring. I thought it was an easy and charming place for a wedding reception, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get married (or host another event) in the area.

The course is great for beginners and scratch golfers alike. Distance control, accuracy, and ability to spin the ball are all at a premium at Moose Meadows to shoot well. To go low, the margin for error is almost nonexistent with small greens protected by trees on both sides on almost every hole. The greens are not in country club shape but are fairly true if played agressively. A well struck putt played to end two to three feet past the hole here is generally rewarded. I played both Sugarloaf and here the last time I was up in July and love both of these courses. They are both a serious test of golf. I really enjoy playing this course as 18 holes with playing the back tees as the front nine and the forward tees as the back nine. You just gotta through the front to get to the back! Dave S

Tomahawk is the more challenging course and newer course at the site, opened for play in 2002 and designed by Dan Maples (http://www.northmyrtlebeachgolf.com/course-architects/dan-maples.html). Arrowhead is mostly straight runs at the flag with some hazards and hills, but it's still fun and challenging for most players. This has been the staple of the course since they opened in 1965. I've played several courses in the area and this is as good as it gets in Central Maine.

I immediately noticed the Jalapeño green and told the cook that I requested no jalapeño on my sandwich. She told us she would scrap off as best as she could. Hm, how is that going to eradicate the taste I'm have such a repugnance too? Shortly she returned with a now tired looking sandwich that tastes like Jalapeño. My question is why not make a new one? I barely finished half of it was so nasty They were supposed to take off our bill but they did not. Just some advice, remake the sandwich, don't skimp and scrap the unwanted item off the sandwich because the flavor stays behind. Your name goes out in every plate you serve and this was not a good sandwich. For a Friday night with a band playing they really need two bartenders. As the crowd grew, Jacqueline was running to help us. One of the partners was there, he helped for a little while then was off socializing or standing outside.
