I fondly remember it as a wonderful institution that offered education from kindergarten through 9th grade. However, by the time my daughter enrolled, the situation had started to deteriorate, marked by numerous conflicts with both teachers and the principal. A particularly troubling incident occurred when my daughter was in kindergarten. She got lost during a field trip to the pumpkin patch, and the teacher's response was, "Well, she should have listened. I told the kids not to get lost." This was directed at a five-year-old, who, as we know, typically has a limited attention span. Each subsequent year saw further decline. Now, my grandson attends this same school, and the issues persist. Recently, my daughter was threatened with my grandson's suspension if she continued to question the principal's methods. What was once a charming country school that fostered a sense of community and timeless values has sadly lost its way. Correction - due to my daughter questioning the principal, my grandson has been suspended for 5 days. He will be removed from the school and placed in a better environment. It's really sad that bullying is accepted and endorsed by the faculty.

My daughter went here for her Kindergarten year, and they had the most disturbing rules students had to follow: 1. No hugging. 2. No holding hands. 3. No playing with friends of your choosing. 4. Friends must be rotated, and we will choose who you play with. 4. No making animal noises. These were REAL rules enforced by her teacher at the time, Mrs. Balue (may be spelled differently) in 2016. My daughter use to love school days and looked forward to them. It didn't take long for Newcastle Elementary to break her of that joy and crush her little spirit. We pulled her early, and she did not attend again. I suggest you stay far away from this blight of an establishment.

I was having a hard time wondering if I was going to find a 3 year old program without breaking…read morethe bank, because he still was having occasional potty accidents and I had another son I pick up and drop off at different odd ball times at his school. A friends son who goes there told me just to call and visit that the staff is very accommodating and addressed all my concerns. They also let him visit a couple times before enrollment (Mrs. King is assigned teacher is amazing) and all the parents seem so friendly and good, wholesome families. I also wasn't sure if my son was going to take to it. He loved it from day one! The teachers all have smiling faces. I love that they work more on academics than some of the other schools seemed like their were more into creativity or independence. Even though they do all that too. Only after a week, I see such a difference in my 3 year old. He actually tells me each day what he learns. The staff is kind if they have accident and I feel safe having my son in their care and he is progressing as a student as well. I wish I knew the cute songs he is singing about school.

GBSH is a warm and caring environment where our children are flourishing. Not only do our children love Ms. Williams, we do too! They are challenged academically without losing the fun that preschool should provide. Also, the indoor playground is a great idea as our kids' recess at their prior school was frequently cancelled in the summer due to excessive heat and in the winter due to rain and cold. We love that our kids get to burn off energy EVERY day regardless of the weather. We toured numerous preschools and day care facilities before choosing GBSH for the quality of its teachers and the instant rapport that our kids had with Ms. Williams on our first visit.
