This is a review for the gym and facility only not the school's teachers, philosophy, or…read morefunctionality. This school is grammar(elementary) school on Taylor Road in Loomis. The gym at the school is rented by a local basketball business for use as an overflow gym. The gym is small. The court takes up nearly the entire space so the refs have to allow some flexibility in kids bringing the ball in, coaches over the line, and spectators' feet coming into the court area or visitors lined along the sidelines. Clean and well kept. The downside is the admission charge of $10 per person to watch kids play. Upsides are it was easy to find on a major street in Loomis, there are bathrooms just outside which were unlocked and relatively clean and there is a play area and outside courts in the back for the kids to hang out at or practice before or after the game. Bottom line: A wee bit small and sparsely equipped with chairs especially considering the cost to spectate.

The biggest concern is the lack of stable leadership. The school can't seem to retain principals, and the constant turnover creates inconsistency for students, teachers, and families. It's difficult to build a strong school culture when leadership is always changing. I believe the school is on their 9th principal in 6yrs. This is a major red flag and a huge concern about what the board is doing behind the closed doors For the tuition families pay, the quality of education simply doesn't meet expectations. Many of the school's strongest educators have already left/retired or are nearing retirement, and it raises concerns about the future of the academic program. Another major concern is the Board of Directors' involvement in day-to-day school operations. I've never heard of board members walking around campus writing up students for behavior--that responsibility belongs to school administrators, not the governing board. It blurs the lines between governance and management and creates confusion about who is actually leading the school. It's also concerning that board members appear to be making significant educational decisions despite having little or no professional background in education or business. Families entrust the school with their children's education and expect those decisions to be guided by experienced educational leadership. My son made great memories with his teachers and teammates, and I'm grateful for those experiences. Unfortunately, the school's leadership, governance, and overall educational value make it difficult for me to recommend it to other families. The school is located in a beautiful area and has great potential to thrive and be amazing. But it needs a new leadership and new board and for Lori Kirk to fully step away from this school. I would seriously speak to other families who have left the school prior to investing thousands of dollars into your child's education I've had 2 children attend this school. One left to Del Oro for stronger academics and AP classes and the other one graduated FLC in 2026

She is specifically referring to the grilled cheese sandwiches. She also felt annoyed because she would get in trouble for talking even though the teacher said she could go and help other. The teachers and staff work together to foster a sense of belonging and they're committed to every child's emotional and academic success. They believe that family and community involvement is integral to their students' growth and achievement. I can tell that the school as a whole, takes pride in nurturing the spirit and joy of childhood. My gf's son has thrived since he's been going there and it's fun to see his growth. I only wish they continued to higher grades, so he wouldn't have to start in another new school next year. Now just like your favorite…read morehidden coffee shop or sandwich shop - 'if you know you know' and that's probably why the school is so great - because there aren't tons of kids from outside areas trying to sneak in and instead it stays "local" and enjoyable with the same group of kids that reflects the benefits of a society focused on morals and integrity. Sure there's always a few of "those kids" with extra means and the fancy cars given to them by parents with no quality time to spend but the same can be found at any school the only difference here is that those kids tend not to cause trouble but rather are more interested in a "good time" and after all who isn't. Besides if you have integrity you won't be persuaded regardless of what school you attend. Thank your parents for that. Enough about all that, what's important is the positive attitude found with the staff and overall with the students. More so than most schools nearby. Front desk here is helpful , upper staff is helpful and kind. I came from another school to here at my junior year and I was very impressed with the abilities of the teachers to teach outside the standard outlines and expand our attention ie home Eco / fish and wildlife / English with siturude / video production!!! My favorite - all made you appreciate being in a seemingly top tier school. So I'd give this school experience an A+ coming from a shy kid to start and ending as a confident student at the end.
