I realize they might encourage appointments, but one buyer is not enough in today's market standards and climate that is rapidly shifting. There is a strong demand to sell yet I felt very discouraged by the aftermath. The older man is waiting on 2 females, after 25 minutes acknowledging me that I was sitting, approaches me, looks at the diamond ring, instead of giving it back to me, he places it on the Center table and runs back and says 10 more minutes. Above and beyond that it ended up being an excessive 40 minute wait again. By the time the ring was examined, he was going with an offer, but started testing and trying to then reduce the profit margin when I asked if he wanted me to remove the diamond from the setting to identify the exact size. Older man, old school approach, VISIBLE scratches on his hand, obviously not the most professional vibe Due diligence I would say fair, Could be better in my opinion. For such an established company that thrives on reputation, you must do more to ***commit to client satisfaction*** ℹ unfortunately will avoid and bypass at all costs. I brought my 8 year old daughter with me packed with a tablet and coloring for her, thinking she would be extremely bored. I brought my Rolex watch to be serviced on feb 4 th 2025 and I was told it could take up to 8 to 10 weeks to be serviced, the watch was completed in 3 weeks, I was told the price should be between $800 and $1,100 and could be more depending on what they find, the price ended up being just a little over $1,000 I dealt with Mike and John and they were excellent! They didn't ask us a single question, they didn't ask our names or even bother to introduce themselves. We had even made an appointment and we were looking for a wedding band for my fiancé. I had an excellent experience working with John Marcello and David Espinosa yesterday afternoon at Long's Jewelers in Braintree. I had been working with John on the acquisition of a new Rolex watch, and made the trip in to the store yesterday to complete the purchase. When arriving at the store, I was greeted by David who brought me over to see John. John and David worked with me through the entire purchase process, going over warranty information and included box/manuals/papers, how to use the watch's complications and bracelet quick-adjustments, explaining how to make bracelet micro-adjustments on my own in the future, and they also did a great job with re-sizing the watch's bracelet for me. John also provided me with an appraisal document for my insurance company at no extra cost. After completing the purchase, John took the time to talk with me about availability of another specific watch that I have my eye on for the future, as well as answer some of my questions about other watch brands in the store, and our thoughts on upcoming new releases. Also of note, all employees and other customers were all wearing masks appropriately and practicing safe social distancing protocols. I definitely felt safe while I was in the store. I just got off the phone with Bob Rottenberg the CEO of Long's. He replied to my first review and asked to speak to me on the phone. So I called him expecting a businessman who would at least listen to the customer and hear his/her side of the story. Mr. Rottenberg was furious about my review and his attitude was not that of a businessman trying to resolve a business issue and a bad review from an unsatisfied customer. But that of a court room lawyer trying to defend his business by telling me that his employees did the right thing and that I was making the whole story up. I had a good brow-beating session on the phone after which I had to politely hang up. This isn't a "He said / She said" like he described it as if it were a divorce case. This is a "Unhappy customer said" case so please start by listening and learn how to avoid situations like this one. This isn't about "We've been in business for 65 years". This is about how to be in business for the NEXT 65 years. The world has changed and Braintree, MA is not an island. People can shop around and call for prices and even buy their jewelry anywhere in the world. These people just don't get it. Get off your high diamond-studded horses and take care of your customers is my advice. Long live Yelp for giving the little guy a voice read more
