I brought my 8 year old daughter with me packed with a tablet and coloring for her, thinking she would be extremely bored. I brought my Rolex watch to be serviced on feb 4 th 2025 and I was told it could take up to 8 to 10 weeks to be serviced, the watch was completed in 3 weeks, I was told the price should be between $800 and $1,100 and could be more depending on what they find, the price ended up being just a little over $1,000 I dealt with Mike and John and they were excellent! I'll start by saying the jewelry was beautiful. The staff I felt were rude and condescending. It appeared more that we were bothering them and they had little interest in helping us. They didn't ask us a single question, they didn't ask our names or even bother to introduce themselves. We had even made an appointment and we were looking for a wedding band for my fiancé. I would have been interested in other items such as a band for myself but I wasn't even acknowledged as standing there. I would not give this place a dime of my hard earned money. I had an excellent experience working with John Marcello and David Espinosa yesterday afternoon at Long's Jewelers in Braintree. I had been working with John on the acquisition of a new Rolex watch, and made the trip in to the store yesterday to complete the purchase. When arriving at the store, I was greeted by David who brought me over to see John. John and David worked with me through the entire purchase process, going over warranty information and included box/manuals/papers, how to use the watch's complications and bracelet quick-adjustments, explaining how to make bracelet micro-adjustments on my own in the future, and they also did a great job with re-sizing the watch's bracelet for me. John also provided me with an appraisal document for my insurance company at no extra cost. After completing the purchase, John took the time to talk with me about availability of another specific watch that I have my eye on for the future, as well as answer some of my questions about other watch brands in the store, and our thoughts on upcoming new releases. Also of note, all employees and other customers were all wearing masks appropriately and practicing safe social distancing protocols. I definitely felt safe while I was in the store. Just an all around great experience from initial contact to picking up my dream watch. Last wk, I reached out online to simply ask when the Long's Jewelers in Braintree would be opening now that restrictions related to Covid 19 were starting to be lifted. I explained that I was hoping to get a watch to celebrate a special anniversary. I mentioned I had spoken to John Marcello back in March right before the statewide shutdown. Within 24 hrs, John reached out to me directly. What impressed me the most was his focus on learning about me and what it was I was looking to celebrate. He was then able to help find me he perfect watch to match my lifestyle as well as to mark a significant milestone. John kept in touch with me throughout the process and had an appointment set up for me this past wkend when the store opened. On pick up day, I was met by a sales associate at the front who offered me hand sanitizer and a mask in case I forgot mine. The post Covid 19 shutdown protocols were top notch. John was already waiting for me and had my watch ready and allowed me the opportunity to be the first person to unbox the watch. Laurie and Sue went above and beyond to make sure all our questions were answered and never rushed us when trying on endless ring options. Sue's knowledge of the products was extremely impressive and she even took the time to check my fiancé's engagement ring to ensure the wedding band diamonds and size matched perfectly. Also Sue noticed the engagement ring was not quite the right size and got it resized, cleaned, and reconditioned! Our 5-star experience ended with Laurie's exceptional customer service. Laurie ensured that all financing options were explained and even offered special accommodations for delivering the resized engagement ring and wedding bands when they were ready. Contacted Long's to return the ring. Explained the situation to the coldest and most unsympathetic salesperson I've ever encountered. Nope, no returns. Then I asked if they'd be willing to buy the piece back from me. Sure! They'd pay me $200 for it. Just so we're all on the same page here: they sold me a $200 ring for $715 dollars the first time around. Made $500 dollars off my engagement. I have to update my review based on my most recent purchase: I highly recommend Long's Jewelers in Braintree. I was in the market for a luxury watch and was dealing with John M. He is a complete gentleman and is a true watch enthusiast. It was great dealing with him as he was very knowledgeable in all of the luxury watches in the store and was able to truthfully answer all of my questions without any BS. On one of my first visits they had several models on display that I tried on. A couple of them caught my eye but I wasn't 100% on buying as they weren't exactly what I was looking for. Instead of John pushing to make a sale, he said to wait for what I really wanted. I found this attitude to be very rare in a company. Normally, I've found, companies will push to make an immediate sale (which John easily could have done with me given the current luxury watch market), rather than encouraging the customer to wait for the item they truly want. If you are interested in a luxury watch, jewelry, etc. I highly recommend Longs. They honestly care about giving the customer what they want and not making a quick sale. I told him I admired a pair of earrings a woman at work was wearing one day and they were designed by David Yurman. He showed me earrings and I found the pair I wanted. Peter showed me a Garnet pendant, also a Yurman design. Sold! The gifts were wrapped, I paid for them and was headed back to work in 30 minutes from the time I walked in. My fiancé bought my engagement ring here from a man named David who is FANTASTIC. I know because I have met him a few times. He's personable, and even realized who I was when he saw my ring for the first time because he remembered helping my fiancé design it. So, as far as David goes- I highly recommend this Long's. 5 stars for David. However, there is one woman in the customer service area that I just don't like. I go in there pretty often to get my diamond ring washed and looked at to make sure nothing has come loose, as its complimentary and I'm newly engaged. There is one woman in there, I do not know her name but if I see her, I turn around and don't even bother going in. She's heavier set with big blonde hair. She's been rude, or condescending every single time I go in. When I first got the ring, I felt like it moved around on my finger too much. When I called and went in- I spoke to her both times because she told me it was her I spoke to- she was dismissive and not at all helpful. Seemed like I was bothering her. Every time I go in she seems bothered that I'm asking her to check/clean my ring. I even came in for some measurements of my diamonds since a friend of mine is designing my wedding band for me and she was mocking my decision to not get the "matching" band. She also didn't seem to believe me when I told her that my friend MAKES these herself from start to finish. Like- she owns her own business. She clearly did not believe me. When I explained to her that I'm not a matchy matchy person and my friend is fantastic at what she does and it's unique to design your own wedding band with a professional, she was being critical and asking me nosy questions and was not even attempting to hide the fact that she didn't approve of my decision to get my band from elsewhere "Well, you're going to see it in person before you buy it right? Why are you sending her pictures then? Why don't you just go there?" This was after I explained to her that I am just getting some measurements to provide my friend so she could give me a mock up of the ring I want, along with a quote on a price. Then she condescendingly said "Well, you're a good friend." As if my decision to pay half the price for the same ring, except I get to design it with a friend who is a professional rather than purchase it at at this store was a bad one. I'll keep going here to wash my ring but I will avoid this woman at all costs. read more
