So I ordered from Choi's Kitchen to get his chicken bhuna, lamb bhuna, prawn bhuna, mushroom rice, a bag of chips, keema naan, and nine poppadoms. When it arrived, the plastic curry sauce container had exploded, fully coating the inside of the plastic bag. And that wasn't even the worst of it. While unpacking this vile mess, I felt half the containers were cold. Nobody wants a chilly Chinese. By the time I had taken out half the order, my son ran over and stole the bag from me, so I let him take it. I didn't want to deal with that. Later on, he came scurrying back with tears in his eyes. Not only did he show me an entire chicken buried in his chicken bhuna, but there was also egg shells in it too. I tried to console him, saying maybe this is a reason to stop eating Chinese. But, to my surprise, he continued eating this diabolical chicken bhuna right in front of me! He loved it! His happy tears warmed my heart, so, unfortunately... I have to give this outrageous place five stars.

I tried to lose some weight to look good for the wedding; this place definitely didn't help that cause. For about £10 pounds, you get a reasonably sized filet(s) and a whole heap of chips. The batter is crisp, light, and perfectly seasoned. The pineapple fritters are an awesome dessert - kind of like a fried Oreo us muricans love with only half the guilt/remorse afterward. The chips are ok - again, mostly because I've been conditioned to want my fried potatoes to be crispy. I prefer the chips w/ the curry sauce poured over top. YUM! Of the types of fish I tried, I'd put cod - mackerel - haddock in order of preference. Salt and vinegar are available, but all other sauces are charged a nominal fee. You can eat in or takeaway - the eat in area is a bit congested, so may not be very comfortable if you have young children. The queue is formidable but it moves along rather quickly. Sitting by the Old Harbour bridge, eating fish and chips and drinking a Shandy Bass...lovely way to spend an afternoon--or three--in Weymouth.

Everything was wonderful, but the sea bass was absolutely divine. Incredibly aromatic and the fish was cooked perfectly. (Everyone else seemed very happy with their food, too - it all looked great as well!) It's a small restaurant right on the canal in the center of town. I would imagine that reservations are required for regular dinner service. It's not inexpensive, but I felt the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food. The restaurant serves a mixture of meat and seafood but since we were by the coast we were only interested in dining on seafood. To start we shared 2 appetisers between 3 of us, the ceviche and Pil Pil tiger prawns. Both these dishes were disappointingly lacking in flavour. The Pil Pil prawns seemed rather pricey at £6.95 for 3 tiny bland prawns. We struggled to choose 3 different mains from the menu as we only wanted seafood. After speaking to the chef owner to find out what other seafood was available we placed a special order of razor clams and squid with triple cooked chips in truffle oil. I'm so glad we talked to the chef owner as this was the best dish of the 3 mains and at first all the server could offer us were sardines! For the other 2 mains we chose the daily special Hake and the Brill wrapped in Serano ham from the a la carte. We were not keen on these 2 main dishes both had a small portion of creamy fish on a large pile of dauphinoise potatoes. When the server described the Hake special to us he mentioned razor clams but there were none in the dish we ate. Apparently they had used up all the razor clams in the other chef's special we ordered. Although the Hake special was missing a key ingredient they still charged us the full price of £21.50? For dessert we chose a chocolate wasabi cheesecake and a peanut butter parfait with chocolate shavings & honeycomb. I only tried the deconstructed cheesecake but was informed by my dining companions that the peanut butter parfait tasted better, the plating certainly looked nicer. Overall for the standard of food, pricing is on the high side at the dining room compared to central London; I am not sure how it compares to the rest of Weymouth but I suspect it is high. For 2 starters, 3 mains and 2 desserts without alcohol, the meal for 3 people came to £37 per person. I would rather have paid slightly more to dine at the 1 Michelin star restaurant 'Sienna' in the nearby town of Dorchester but it was unfortunate that we did not have time to plan!
