I see better now than I have since before I needed a prescription! Calling for an appointment was easy and the receptionists were genteel and informative - plus there was free coffee! (Thank you for the coffee). They accepted my Humana vision insurance and were always quick to inform me of any extra costs I could incur or savings for which I was eligible. Dr. Hammond and his assistants were wonderful! Friendly, obviously caring, thorough, and competent. Dr. Hammond was especially good at not just making me feel comfortable, but also confident. In the end, my prescription for both my glasses and my contacts were a tad better than 20/20. I was actually distracted driving home by the detail I could see in distant foliage. My follow-up was just as easy and informative. The receptionists explained a rebate for the year supply of contact lenses I purchased, and I was able to get back $55. Donelson Eye Care had the best reviews, and as a bonus they are right down the street from me. So I made my appointment and crossed my fingers. I LOVE THESE PEOPLE! BEST -- THE BEST -- eye appointment I have ever had. By the time I left, I felt the entire staff were friends I'd known for year. Friendly, knowledgeable and caring. They have way better technology than any of my old optometrists had, and they took the time to explain every single test. I learned more about my eyes in half an hour than I'd learned in 20+ years. When they informed me my "month long" contacts were actually two-week contacts (I had no idea!) and I was wearing them too long... they weren't condescending, mean or rude. They told me gently and with a great sense of humor that didn't make me feel dumb at all. It was just a light bulb moment. I don't care where I may live in the middle Tennessee area... My tipping point, why I quit going... is bc they are inconsistent in their pricing. At first a visit was $160, then when I checked out, I only owed $40, that's good but...the doctor who knew exactly what I needed bc he sold contacts to me before and knew that's what I was currently wearing didn't give me my contacts prescription, that's ok I just call and ask for it..,nope...that will be $75 extra dollars. He knew I wasn't getting my contacts through him so he charged more. Get it together people! Charge same amount to every customer. You don't get to pick who gets charged more bc their instance pays you less or they decide to save money and get their contacts cheaper elsewhere. Quit taking advantage of people! SHAME!
