These are some fine folks and put on a very pleasant auction. They even open the auction with a prayer, which was a nice touch. It being New Years Day, they also handed out Black-eyed Peas and did other customer appreciation things like handing out gifts. Clay is an excellent auctioneer and keeps things lively and entertaining. In the day where a lot of auctions are moving strictly online this was a refreshing find!

His descriptions are accurate and he honestly represents the items he is selling. His auction style is engaging and fun. He too makes everybody feel welcome. They also have a concession stand that sells some tasty morsels. I had nachos, chili and barbecue brisket. The nachos were fresh, the chili good and the brisket was nic This was my first visit to Foster's but it will not be my last, these are some good folks and I really enjoyed the experience and tender.

They sell knock off "world market" goods as "art nouveau" with no mention that it says WORLD MARKET in GIANT LETTERS across the bottom of the item misleading you to think it's antique. They don't post crisp images so you cannot zoom in and see something is painted and not a textured print. Deceptive descriptions and misinformation, misleading images that hide damage. PLEASE GO REVIEW ITEMS BEFORE YOU PURCHASE.

So frustrated, and considering the situation he told them to keep his 8$ cause you know they needed that extra on top of the 7$ and the customer service person texting has an I-phone and (LOVED) what he said about keeping his 8$. Then they admitted they LOVED the fact they get to keep our money too, because it cost US MORE THAN IT WAS WORTH for 7$. It's the damned principle that as a greedy business you had to be unprofessional over 7$. We will be taking our business elsewhere and for other's you have been warned. These folks only care about taking your money, nothing else. If I could rate you as a BIG FAT ZERO I WOULD! Update: The business manager DID reach out to us and profusely apologized and made it right. For this, I am very appreciative. He was also completely transparent every step of the way. I hired an antique appraiser along with Arthur, but in several cases Arthur was more knowledgeable. He found better ways to sell some silver and gold in the house as well as moved all my appliances and got a bunch for some small items that I didn't think were valuable. Finally, he was upfront with his pricing. I knew what the sale and clean out were going to cost and Arthur was honest about what we were likely to make so I could make a good decision going in. From our very first conversation, my wife and I knew that Arthur was the professional we were looking for. He was very knowledgeable; setting very realistic expectations for the process, the timeline, and what our likely results would be. He handled EVERYTHING from the second we shook hands through the end of the estate sale weeks later. The true reason to hire Arthur though is his honesty and integrity. More than a few times he brought our attention to some items that we would have never known the value of and he could have taken advantage of that. Instead, he informed us of what we had and let us decide how we wanted to proceed. When it was time to execute the estate sale, he had people lined up outside the door. Steve Kaplan, the owner and auctioneer is one of the most honest and ethical people I have met in the business. He gets that the business is as much about relationships as it is about honesty, integrity and just making your customers feel appreciated. He is not as active as some of the other auction houses, often having about half the number of auctions, but I will skip another to attend his auction anytime. I have bought some beautiful pieces and very fair prices here and am always anxious to see what is coming up in his next auctions. He gets unique pieces and his auction is filled with friendly folks who are fun to be around.
