Burger and side of macaroni salad

This place was pretty awesome as a quick lunch spot! It is such an unassuming place but extremely popular as a road trip stop. We got to try a sample of the pimento cheese, and yeah, it was good! I got the burger, and it was deliciously filling. Very casual indoor seating, but it was enjoyable and worth a visit!

Wow, what a road side gem! Seriously, if you are in the area you need to try out the Long Road Cafe. Located outside Crossville in the Mayland community, this cafe is amazing. They nailed it in guest service and quality! My Dad and I stopped in for lunch expecting the traditional hot dogs, hamburgers and fries--typical greasy spoon fare. Which to be honest would have been fine. However, we discovered some interesting menu items. We both opted for Bruce's Bomber: roast beef, bacon, smoked Gouda, lettuce, onion and chipotle mayo on a soft potato roll. For our sides, I selected potato salad and Dad chose a fresh tomato and cucumber salad. I am reluctant to admit it but the potato salad rivaled my Grandmother's. It had to be a family recipe. It definitely wasn't the usual crap restaurants serve and call potato salad! Our sandwiches were served hot with a helping of amazing. Those warm soft potato rolls were incredible. Dad said the tomato salad was very good too. Before our food arrived a friendly lady brought us over a sample of pimento cheese to try. As she sat it down, she said, "this is our homemade pimento cheese following Grandpa's original recipe. As we enjoyed our meal, I asked the chef, Bruce about the building. Turns out Bruce is the owner. He joined us for a few minutes and shared some of the community's history and how a no restaurant experience couple ended up owning the Long Road Cafe. Great guy, an Air Force veteran, and interesting too. As we were leaving, Bruce was checking his smoker outside and offered us a meatball. Although stuffed, I could not resist. Once again the taste was heavenly. Great people, great food and no pretentiousness. Who could ask for more!

A group of us had a great lunch at LRC after a round of golf. Fresh and tasty sandwiches! They have beer available as well as soft drinks. Seldom do I find a Deli/Sandwich shop that earns a perfect score but this is definitely one of them. Give them a try- you'll be glad that you did.

Gotta stop and have some lunch - hidden gem .

It's off the beaten path .. worth driving a few miles off the freeway to eat at the long road cafe ...

Great food, awesome people! Everything we tried was stellar, even the pickle on the side was superb, crunchy and tasty! Service was exemplary, we will be back!

One of the best Restaurants on the Plateau! Focuses on sandwiches and lunch fair but offer diversity in specials and iff menu. The quality and craftsmanship of their food is wonderful! This is made manifest by the large cross section and diverse backgrounds of their patrons. Blue collar or white collar the long road leads to this cafe.... Please do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a fried pie... oh... my... goooooooodnesssssss!

Everything is fresh. Good variety of sandwiches and sides. Their flat bread pizzas on first and last Friday's of the month are to die for.

It was busy when we arrived and mobbed by the time we left. Two of us had the Angela scramble and shared an order of the lemon zest pancakes. Another member of our party had waffle and bacon, and the fourth had eggs and bacon with toast. First, let me just rave about the lemon zest pancakes. We added blueberries and they were delicious. We agreed that they are the best commercial pancakes we've ever had. They arrived hot, still crisp, and with the nicest lemon flavor ever. With the blueberries, they were much like a lemon-blueberry turned into pancakes. Lovely. We both enjoyed the Angela scramble, a nice combination of egg, sausage, tomato, cheddar, and avocado. The little cup of fruit that accompanied it was small but it was all fresh. The other couple said their waffles and bacon were great. One had a vanilla latte, the other coffee. The drink menu is extensive and we enjoyed our choices. Take the time to stop in!

The gal at the register was super friendly as was everyone we interacted with. I ordered the breakfast Panini and a chai latte and a blueberry muffin. The latte was pretty standard and good. Muffin actually tasted store bought but wow that breakfast sandwich knocked it out out of the park. The rosemary Parmesan butter really leveled it up. The homemade sauce did too. Nice thick bacon. Wish I lived closer! Hubby ordered the biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon and a white cho mocha. Coffee was good and bacon was perfect. I think they came in orders of three or five people and he ordered three. Biscuits and gravy were nothing to rave about. He actually said one of the biscuits was quite tough and hard to eat. Gravy was basic and a little on the bland side. Overall, very nice place and would definitely stop there again.
