They made my moving experience soooo easy. Brandon was very communicative and helpful. They assisted in moving from one storage unit to another. The price range was very reasonable and what was paid was on the lower end. Everyone was very polite and appreciative. Awful experience. Took forever, went over estimate by 500 dollars, broke multiple items I specifically set aside, hid the broken items, and refused to pay for them. On top of this their operations manager Brandon, was rude and condescending on the phone, flat out refused to reimburse for items discovered after the fact, and hung up on me twice when I called them about it. It's one thing to get screwed over by movers, it's quite another to have them rub it in your face and be condescending about it. I went with Long because they were recommended by my realtor, but I will be actively discouraging people from using them in the future and will ask my realtor to do so as well. Moving is stressful enough, don't use movers that leave you feeling bad about the experience afterwards. read more

Horrible experience. I got a guaranteed delivery date of over a week ago and as far as I can tell they are holding all of my stuff indefinitely in a different state. Not to mention completely unresponsive and will lie to your face. No apology for the ridiculous delay, no mention of any refunded money, and the only communication is them claiming we can't file fraud for another week! Shittiest business ever, IMO. I will update this review if I get my stuff safely and quickly because I understand delays but I can't understand companies that are so untransparent and care about their customers so little. For everyone looking to hire a mover, as far as I can tell-- get a Uhual and do it yourself. Can't wait to file a DOT fraud claim!!!!! And if my experience changes, this review will too. read more

My daughter hired Long Moving and storage for her move yesterday from a home in Smithfield to a 2nd floor apartment in Providence. Ryan and Dylan arrived promptly at 10 am to begin the disassembly of furniture. They worked quickly and efficiently in the brutal humidity. Everything was wrapped carefully and loaded into their truck. They then arrived at the apartment complex and had to share the elevator with another moving company. They both worked tirelessly dripping in sweat lugging heavy furniture up 2 flights and then carefully reassembling all of her furniture while remaining pleasant and conscientious the entire move. I would 100% recommend this company and will use them again! read more

Our move to Florida started great the crew was efficient friendly and did a great job! On the other end the driver was awesome. On time hard working and very conscientious. The crew that was hired to help him showed up 2 1/2 hrs late! we felt so bad for him we helped him unload more than 2/3rds of the truck. When they showed up they unloaded the heavy furniture which was about 1/10 of the load maybe a 1/2 hours worth of work. When I spoke to Brandon about a reduction in price he was not helpful at all. they did not pack any items they did not take anything apart or put anything together all items were pack in boxes and yet they still charged us the higher rate. I was happy with the help that they sent but not in the end results!! read more

Believe all the bad reviews, it's real this is the worst company with have the unfortunate chance to deal with.We cancelled our move and ended up driven ourselves! They are a moving broker, they DO NOT HAVE THEIR OWN CREW ITS A LIE! they will get you business then hire a difference team to pick ,and another team to transfer to home to your next location! The sale man Russ will give you the best quote out there with great discount just to get your business, yet will not write down your items list properly , which will be updated later with the dispatch team to make sure your stuff fit in the truck. Ah yes the truck "your tings will fit in the truck , most likely you will have your own truck because of the space you are using ". Also " there is only 1400miles to drive so with DOT regulations you will have your items at your new place in 2 days". Well nothing we agree upon happened, and we lost $2500 in the process. Quoted us low, ($7000) to increase the amount of space they will actually use during verification ( added $900) to then show up with a small truck with other people stuff on, and ask at first $1500 extra , then $2000 extra as worst case scenario if our stuff need to be pack outside the truck!! What??. They mentioned everything is included: break down and wrap furniture for free, and will also bring enough crew members to load everything quick. Well 2 skinny guys showed up with zero fitness level, and ask $1500 for packing furniture because even though we had wrap and pack everything ourselves it wasn't enough according to the loading company! Well at least your stuff would get there in 2 days right? No think again ! The loading team was going to get our home to Chicago in a warehouse , where other people things would be mixed up and probably broken and the semi truck would only load our house sometime that week and then many arrive at new location the following week aka it can take at least 2 weeks to get you home back!! The quote with discount was $7000, then $8000 on revision day , then +$1000 on moving day which came down to be hire then a quote I had the Mayflower!. Your deposit is theirs you will never see that money again even when the revision acts as a new estimate, they don't change the date and screw you even if you are with 72hrs of move and in your right to cancel. They were able to give me a fast and reasonable quote (based on the idea that I would be doing some of the prep work myself to save time and money), and when I failed to do my part (oops!), they were quick to step right in and pull me through a stressful move. This is a scam don't use them they will take your money and be nice at first and then once they get your money they will wait till the very last minute like the day of pickup to try to charge you extra money for just about any little thing they can think of and if you're not willing to pay for those things they will deny you service. And then after audacity to still keep your money. They try to charge me extra $450 just for them to come upstairs even though I paid for them to come upstairs when I first paid for the service I refuse to pay the extra $450 because when I spoke to them on the phone they told me that there would be no extra charges and that what I agreed upon the contract is what I would have to pay and I even offered to bring the stuff downstairs why they told me no they can't do that so pretty much if I'm not willing to pay the extra $450 on top of the money I already paid they weren't going to take my stuff and they did not the man told me straight up that if I'm not going to pay the extra $450 for them to come all the way up the stairs even though I already paid $150 for them to come upstairs that pretty much they were not going to do the job and they did not do the job even after I offered to bring the stuff downstairs for them. read more

Let me tell about this professional, trustworthy, and reasonable company. We needed a last minute item moved and we're in a pinch. Many local companies take advantage of you in times like this and hike up the price, not these guys. They knew the job was urgent. My 92 year old grandmother had just got out of the hospital and would no longer be able to get upstairs automated bed. (Which she hasn't been able to use for 2 years because her bedroom was moved downstairs and we had no idea how to move it or take apart) The bed was extremely heavy, lots of pieces and electronic intense device involved. We thought it would take forever to get this task accomplished. We were stuck with no option, but to buy a cheap bigger bed and get it home quick. Long Moving and Storage, stepped up to the plate with an estimate right away and an appt. the next day. During this time it is so nerve wracking to have anyone in your home especially with my grandmother being high risk. They were professional, clean, and caring to the needs of our family. The young men that took this mammoth thing of a bed apartheid so like a well oiled machine in no time. They also greeted my grandmother, talked to her, and made us all feel comfortable and confident in their work. Although they may not even realize it, they made a huge difference in making us at ease knowing our beloved grandmother and snuggly, safe, and most of all happy in her bed. We had a terrible experience with Long Moving and Storage from Westport. They came recommended but we wouldn't recommend them to anyone. There were 4 men and they got everything done in a timely manner but that came with a big price. We moved a cabinet with glass, the glass got broken. We were missing a plastic leg to our queen box spring. our bureau was scratched but the worst thing was our corner hutch. It was hand crafted by the Amish and we paid $1500 for 3 years ago. There was a giant gash and a large chunk of wood missing from the bottom. We've moved several times and nothing like this has ever happened. Unfortunately we didn't take out the insurance as the men said they would take excellent care of our belongings. The kicker here is we moved just 4 minutes away from our old house!! So a warning to anyone thinking about them take out the insurance!! We made several attempts to contact them about this. They took $150 off the bill but it cost $350 to fix the cabinet. All they would say was well sorry. You didn't have insurance. So be mindful who you chose to move you even if it's just 5 minutes away. read more

Absolutely worst moving company I have ever used. Over 50% of our family's belongings were damaged (mostly antiques and family heirlooms) with repair estimates totaling more than $10,000. The owner, Carmel Long, contacted me and admitted fault stating she sub-contracted our moving job out to other movers and that she fired their crew leader for our job. Likewise that she would use our move as a teaching moment on how not to pack. And she would reimburse me what I paid. However, she then went back on her word and refused to reimburse me. Likewise, she didn't even know how much I had paid, disagreeing with my stated amount even though I had copies of the checks she had deposited into her bank account. I have filed complaints with the Attorney General's office and the Better Business Bureau with pictures. Please do yourself and your family a favor and DO NOT use this company. read more
