The lack of coordination in their scheduling system takes away from an otherwise high standard of care. I sincerely hope management addresses these administrative bottlenecks soon. Except when I walked in the first thing she said was why didn't I go for blood test? Also had an echo cardiogram, and she was wondering why they did not set a follow up appointment with me to discuss the results. 10 weeks later.....The physician seemed fine. I had seen them previously before they moved into this group and I did like them very much. But this office is under completely different management. I have been a medical office manager, my whole adult life and the lack of communication and the lack of experience of the front desk is noticeable. I have had three maybe four appointments in this location and each time they ask me if I'm new and each time they tell me that my Medicare card is not valid. So while I do like the doctors, I am leaving this practice due to the problems with the front desk. Very disappointed and sad to leave, but the problems seem serious enough for me to find another primary care physician..

He does not rush to prescribe quick-fix pills and instead first promotes healthy lifestyle like good diet and exercise, but when medications are needed, he doesn't hesitate. And with his help, I finally quit smoking after more than 50 years of being a smoker. His staff is great -- the front desk people are somewhat quiet/reserved in style but they are totally professional and helpful any time I call for something or go in for an appointment. And the two Nurse Practitioners -- Sarah and Chenelle - are absolutely wonderful and thorough in their examinations. Dr. Last is an old-time physician -- the kind who spends the time to get to know his patients and listen to them. The world needs more like him.

I wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend Dr. Montiel. I have fair skin with a long…read morehistory of sunburn, so I know skin cancer is in my future. First it started with the prep call. The nurse told me not to have nail polish, so unlike other reviewers who don't take responsibility for not following instructions, I removed the polish from my hands and toes. The nurse took my history and within no time Dr. Montiel was in the room . She started by asking if there was anything I was concerned about, and I directed her to two spots. She shared my concern, examined the spots carefully, and shared her thoughts. She continued with a complete exam of all my skin, including buttocks, genitals and nails. I have had full body scans before with another provider and that provider was NEVER this thorough. All along Dr. Montiel explained what she was seeing, what was different about age spots, and provided education about skin care and sun avoidance. Throughout she gave information to the nurse who scribed for her, and without missing a beat the nurse took down information and requested clarifying details for the notes. The doctor sent the samples to the lab and told me when I could expect a follow up call. She also told me about the various treatment options. In total, the visit was relatively quick, which I appreciated. She had great bedside manner and took her time educating, and she was specific but didn't waste my time. Very clear, precise and on point. I'll update this review as my case progresses. I know this practice gets very busy but if you are concerned about your skin, you cannot find a better provider than Dr. Montiel.
