It took me some time but I was able to find a league through Long Beach Parks and Recreations and have had the opportunity to get their Coed basketball league going. The coed league is run well on Monday nights and in addition, they have men leagues with different levels occurring other days of the week. The price is affordable about $45-60 per person for all games and ref fees, jersey excluded, for 8 coed games or 10 men games with a roster of 10.. with the season almost ending I will be back for another one. I hope this review helps other hoopers find a home in LB. Some important information too is they keep track of points and free throws and for the coed league, you need at least two females on the court at all times.

It's along back near Wilson high school. Tennis courts and one side it's also utilize for pickleball. The bigger side of the court was all utilize for tennis. Then there's the smaller section where it was 8 courts for pickleball. The seating was quite nice as it was bleachers so each seat you had a nice view of the courts. It was quite busy for a Sunday afternoon with pretty much all the courts there taken. Both side either for practice, tournament or people having a good time. There was also a baseball field behind the bleachers. Restroom were located under the bleachers. The court itself was quite nice. Very well maintained and all clean. Compared to others I've been, this was great.

It's really sad, I live in Long Beach and can't swim laps there because the music caters to Hispanics only. If you had a meeting in their conference room with all the other swimmers, you'd be surprised that I am not alone in this matter. There are a lot of White Americans, African Americans, and only a few Latino swimmers who swim from 6:00 - 7:00 a.m. This review is long overdue. I still have a lot of money on my Long Beach pool card, yet I prefer going to the YMCA at Lakewood.

They are very kind and patient with both parents and kids. It smells bleachy clean which is what I love. All though the place is old because it is the pool for a very old school, it still is a good place to take your kids to learn to swim. Parking can be difficult to find, as it is on a busy street.

Because of classes, water polo, and whatever else they do here, the pool is only available for "open lap swim" during limited hours, which is my only complaint. On the other hand, they are open all damn day, so thats a plus. Early mornings are usually not overcrowded; afternoons get busier, often requiring swimmers to share lanes; and i have yet to swim here in the evenings. Its an outdoor pool, and the summer weather on campus is nice, so ive been using this place up like no other. Fall (open-lap swim) pool hours: Mon - Fri: 6:30am-8am; 12pm-1pm Mon - Thur: 7pm-8pm
