This is a great venue for ANY event! My friend had a gig here and being supportive, came through to watch him perform. There are two big halls to use, one on each of the two floors. There are also plenty of rooms where performers or crew can unwind before going on stage. Plenty of spots to set up bars and photo booths. There are also stages if your gig requires it. It's a really pretty place! And they have a huge parking lot. Street is also available should it get full. Great for weddings, birthdays and anything in between. Recommending! read more

December 2021, I found out about this event through yelp and since we love tamales we figured it would be a great event to attend. The event took place outside in the parking lot. There was limited parking available around the outside of the building and near the neighborhood. There were several different types of local businesses as well as Long Beach Metro link vendors. For the cost of admission, each member receives a complimentary Tamale from the vendor Roxann bar. The Tamale was served open face with pickled slaw on top. In addition to our tamale, we picked up a few from another vendor who won the award for the best tamale place from (dt. LA). The security guards posted outside of the event were very strict on protocol but due to the large crowd, it's understandable. read more

Lifeline Scans was here at the Scottish Rite Temple hosting and offering a variety of scans recently. I have lived in Long Beach for a while and have never been inside of this place. I can tell you the architecture inside is very nice! The Lifescan ladies were terrific and the scans were handled in a timely manner. I would visit here again. read more

I was introduced to The Scottish Rite Center by a client. My first experience was over the phone with the manager Stephanie Wiley. I had the pleasure of having a meeting and walk through with Stephanie. It was a wonderful experience! She knew the protocol and etiquette of the catering and hospitality industry. She was patient, kind, and professional. I was thinking to myself how wonderful and easy it was, I felt comfortable with a venue I had no knowledge of. Our meeting needless to say was flawless and I left there with a wealth of information of the Venue. The Long Beach Scottish Rite Center in my opinion is rated at the top for any occasion, corporate and or social. It has a commercial kitchen, stove, oven, grill, it also has a walk in cooler, a commercial ice maker, a commercial dishwasher and many other amenities. The dinning area is huge and opened, making it easy to create the vision of the worst BRIDEZILLA happy. Lol The ceiling has a beautiful Chandelier and is draped in white with Elegant Tiny Lights. It also has a stage (perfect for a Djay, guest speakers) The restrooms are immaculate actually the entire venue was immaculate including the surrounding area outside. The parking lot is gated, huge with handicapped parking available. The customer service is excellent (since I am known for caring more about customer service than the actual product) I would rate it a 10. If you are looking to book a cool venue for a show or special event, this place is more than worth a look. The outside of the building is very plain. The inside will immediately get your attention with the giant domed foyer with double stair cases. Oh yeah, it's classy. The theater it self is doubly impressive. It's an old vaudeville style theater beautifully decorated. The hand painted stage back drops are original to the theater as well as the full pipe organ and date back to the late 1920s. I've been to a few musical events here, and I honestly do not like this venue. I require the use of a cane, and other than a difficult to locate elevator after steep steps, this location is not what I would call ADA accessible. Positives are clean restrooms, as well as large accessible adjacent parking. The atmosphere inside is decidedly creepy, including a dark hallway with portraits of (presumably deceased) former Scottish Rite members. Plus, many of the auditorium seats lean forward, making a long show's viewing uncomfortable. Needed renovation is apparent, yet seemingly maintaining things status quo allows rental prices more attainable for use. Though not a fave location, I realize it's necessary to enable non-professional groups access on a budget. read more

What a cute place! Went here last month to see a show put on by the SCC (www.sccsingers.com if ur interested!) and what a shocker! It looks like an abandon building from the outside, straight up. But it's actually really nice inside.. dare I say RITZY?!?!? They have a super cool double staircase with marble flooring. The theater itself is upstairs and had nice layout and new (I think) seats. There's a really cute reception area too. I could totally see someone hosting a wedding/reception here. Again, the outside isn't much, but the inside is worth a gander :) read more

Great resource to rent out for an informal, no frills, meeting room/conference facility. My company used the space for a 160+ person, three hour meeting. The parking is excellent, it is located in a safe location in Long Beach, the staff is friendly, and the building is old-school beautiful. There are no amenities (hence the three star rating), but for an easy place in Long Beach to host a meeting/event, it works well. read more

Their last event they are doing is the end of April 2019. My wedding is in June 1st. How can I find a place within three months on a JUNE month wedding? I cannot say enough about how helpful, cooperative and professional they are. They think of all the details and are willing to help with any task regardless of how large or small. I can't rate the actual building because I was too scared to get out of my car. The plain, unmarked building was in apartment land near Long Beach Blvd. and the Gold Line. While driving around the block, I saw a lot of homeless (including a tent seemingly set up for sleeping in front of a business) and what appeared to be druggies. I didn't feel comfortable parking my car, nor would I have felt comfortable walking to my car in the dark. read more

I attended a few events at the Long Beach Scottish Rite between 2015 and 2016. Here is some info about the venue: 1. The building is one of kind, circa 1926. 2. There is a professional theater upstairs and it can hold about 700 people. 3. Downstairs is a ballroom with a stage, holds about 250-300ish. 4. There are a lot of side rooms for bride, groom, prep etc... 5. There is a full commercial kitchen facility onsite. 6. The parking lot is large and gated. My experience: The staff is very professional and works very hard to make clients happy. The building is totally awesome (ornate detail) The parking is convenient, no hassle whatsoever. Don't ever forget parking! It is so important! Very impressed! read more

Where to begin!! I have so many wonderful things to say about the Long Beach Scottish Rite as a wedding venue. From my first telephone inquiry to packing up our wedding decor the day after our wedding, we had the best possible experience with planning and executing the wedding of our dreams with the help of Elizabeth and Jackie. The venue is a dream!! You get the whole place to yourself! And it's huge!! So many fun regal rooms to explore and take pictures, a dramatic staircase, a gorgeous theater stage that gives you endless opportunities to have a creative ceremony, huge room for the reception with tables, chairs and linens included, and a full service kitchen with access to silverware, plates, cups, coffee maker and walk in refrigerator and ice machine. You will not find any other place that is more accommodating. We felt like we were family! Now, let me tell you about Elizabeth. She was my fairy godmother. I knew very little about planning a wedding and she helped me plan it all and made me feel so at ease. I had very little stress leading up to the big day and I thank her for that. Jackie was there the day of the wedding was very sweet and helped make sure things went smoothly. They let you bring in your own caterer so we were able to shop around and have a great meal without breaking the bank. One thing that I absolutely could not believe was that they let us set up the day before (as they didn't have an event the day prior) and we had the venue from 11 am to midnight the day of the wedding, and we were allowed flexibility in picking up our wedding stuff the day after. You just don't find that kind of accommodation anywhere! But the best compliment I can give is how so many of our guests raved about our choice in venue. How beautiful it was, how it was the best wedding they have been to, how they wished they knew about the Scottish Rite when they got married, how fun it was attending a wedding in a theater, on and on! We just had our annual Winter dance recital here, and it was an amazing experience! The staff was so helpful, and the tech crew was awesome! Josh really helped me with my vision in the lighting department and was so professional. Stephanie is so kind and assisted me along the way in securing the venue and planning my timeline for tech rehearsals, as well as giving me the best options for my dancers dressing and holding areas. Hali was very helpful when we came for our final meetings to tie up loose ends and finalize our show details. Overall, it was a smooth process and the staff was very accomodating to our needs, especially since we had quite the turnout (unexpected)! I recently got married here April 30th and for the most it went great both coordinators Elizabeth and Jackie were amazing and very helpful when it came to resolving my concerns. A couple of things did arise where I kept getting conflicting messages from both coordinators which was frustrating me but at the end Elizabeth was a professional and was able to get it squared away. The venue looks very sketchy from the outside but the inside is beautiful and definitely has a lot of room. The only thing that I was not too happy about was on how strict their security was my guests felt as if they were going to a club, the security guards asked the guests to remove all of their belongings and were scanned by a metal detector. I totally understand the need to make sure that we are all safe but the security did go overboard. The security even had an incident my mother, my mom had been in the venue all day long helping set up and helping me get ready, she was there from 8am (waaaay before security) all the way until the end and they got aggressive with her when it came to clearing her out just because she was going to the lounge room (this is where my bridesmaids, mom, and I got ready) and she did not feel comfortable how they were all over her. I also ended up finding out that some of my guests were turned away after I told Elizabeth that I come from a Hispanic background and most of older generations are not used to RSVP's or any of it and although I told her this she still needed a guest list she stated she just wanted an approximate but if someone showed up and wasn't in the guest list they would get a hold of my maid of honor so she can go check if they were invited or not. They never called my maid of honor therefore guests were sent back. The security was just HORRIBLE, This place would have been my dream venue if it wasn't for this aspect of it. Although my guests understood that it was venue's protocol they did feel intimidated by it, I found myself apologizing to every guest that came in after being cleared. As I mentioned above everything else was amazing and Elizabeth was great and I totally understand that everyone has a job to do and that Elizabeth is only following the rules but they should really look into bettering the way the security works without having guests feeling intimidated or as if they were walking into a club, I honestly don't think there was so much done even at a club than this place. read more
