It is kind of a miniature Dave and Busters with a lot of mechanical type games, some video games, and a big carousel in the middle. We played some air hockey, skeet ball, and a few "drop the claw to grab a prize" games. One of the staff members was restocking an identical machine that we were playing next to us and he gave us a wink and said he'd leave a few items in an easy position which was nice of him. Of course we took advantage of his kindness and nabbed a few small stuffed animals. To play the games, you put cash or a credit card into the token machine and get a plastic token card to use with the various games. I just put in $20 and it was a fun way to kill 20 minutes.

Surprisingly you use your phone snap the QR Code and the door opens and to my surprise so clean . Everything is a wave of your hand and what a relief it is! This one was located at the Harvey Milk Promenade Park. Very convenient if you are at Gold Bahn The Promenade is Cool. Lots of stores and eating places . I recommend trying this when you see it. I wanted to check out Broken Spirits which is right next to the 2 hour free parking garage. Parking is by Long Beach Blvd with entrances on 3rd and 4th street. The promenade itself is a 4 block pedestrian walkway full of gorgeous murals, pleasant landscaping, and an odd QR code enabled toilet. It's interesting and fun to walk. You can get some great views of historic architecture such as the Middough Building. Sad part is on a Saturday it felt like I was in an apocalypse movie. Nobody anywhere. Was a total ghost town. Restaurant we ate at was great but totally empty. Was odd. I assume night time might be busier? I will definitely be back for Broken Spirits and curious to see what else is around.

They had plenty of seating inside and some outside as well, although we went during the week and it wasn't too busy. All team members were very friendly and welcoming, answering any questions with great attitudes. The views were nice and we were able to get some nice family pictures. Definitely recommend experiencing at least once or as a quick fun outing to catch some ocean breeze.

Started in 2001, the Aqua Link shuttles passengers along the 5-mile shoreline to connect DTLB…read more(Aquarium) with Alamitos Bay Landing (has one of my favorite brewpubs in Ballast Point). Managed by Long Beach Transit, it runs in the summer 7 days a week (4.5 round trips with one boat M-Th; 8.5 round trips with two boats Fr-Su). Cost is $5 one-way (no change in fares since beginning....heavily subsidized by LBT since I don't think the fares would cover the cost of fuel for these runs), and now accepts credit card taps (as well as TAP cards) at the point of entry (so no longer need exact change). One is required to exit the boat at each end-point, and then go to the end of the line for the return journey (if all one wants to do is to take the boat ride roundtrip). Unfortunately, the boats had limited capacity, and on both my trips, people in line towards the back didn't make the boat they were waiting for (which can be a problem since it could be up 1.5 hours between boats, though in my case it was only 45 minutes). Thus, had the chance to ride on both boats this Sunday (Aqualink from Aquarium to Alamitos Bay; Aqualink II from Alamitos Bay to Aquarium). Measuring time, it took about 41 minutes from leaving to exiting the boat in one direction. There is comfortable indoor seating (with a snack and alcohol bar area that was not open). Outside, there is a small space at both the aft and forward section of the boat where passengers can enjoy the outside (mostly standing room only). Life jackets are not required. It's mostly a smooth ride, but there is one area on the route where swells definitely makes your stomach feel the drop. Notes: (7/26/2026): Boarded at 13:42 from Aquarium Dock 4. Left exactly at 14:00. Landed at Queen Mary dock at 14:11. Left at 14:15. Captain intentionally did a pass-by of the Queen Mary for great picture opportunities (also saw the Carnival Panorama docked at the Carnival cruise port as well). Got off at Alamitos Bay at 14:42. Got back in line. Denied entry at 14:50 (was the first person of the group that didn't get on). Waited for next boat (Aqualink II). Boarded at 15:45. Left at 15:52. Landed at Aquarium (DTLB). Got off at 16:26.

Swan Boat Ride | Everyone has to wear the puppy life vest well I did not go with my dress, safety is key! Hahaha! The ride was fun, as it does require that you pedal... So get ready to get a two for one, fun ride as well as exercise as you enjoy the view along the way! Cost | $13 per person! We were told to buy our tickets online; easily on our phones! Photo ID is required as well! An hour long ride! Note | I recommend bringing/wearing a hat and/or sunglasses if it's a super hot day! There is a cover on the top of the Swan Boats, which helped shield us from the intense heat on this particular sunny Saturday! Sighting | I nearly passed out when I noticed there was a wedding in progress as we paddled by, so beautiful! We paddled by as quickly as possible as not to disturb their photo moments! The scenery was quite beautiful! The other boats paddled by quickly as well and went to the side to watch from a distance! I bet the boat actually looked quite beautiful in the background in the photographs! Maybe that was their plan all along! Overall | Yes, please! Swan Boat rides are super fun, as well as lots of laughs along the way! Cheers to Pedal power! Haha!

There's all these cute little things hidden throughout the city. Well not quite hidden but a nice…read moresurprise to see. It's located inside the park right in the middle. Just along the pathway and right across from the playground. It's open to the public during certain hours. From the look of it first hand you wouldn't think that it's a lighthouse. Just a nice Victorian style home with the cute wooden picket fence around. There's a parking lot to the side of the property which leads you to the gift shop and restrooms. One end has a cute little garden area where it's a butterfly sanctuary. I didn't go inside the gift shop which I did notices that they offer tours of the property. I can't review the tour as I didn't experience it but the property from the outside was beautiful. You could walk along and check out the front and back of the property and garden. It's a cute place which I think they also host different events throughout the year. I could be wrong but it looked like they were having something for Easter later. It's a beautiful landmark with its nice architecture but to think that it was a lighthouse, I would have never guessed. If you get a chance to stop by the park, it's worth checking out even a wander around if you didn't do the tour.

There are a couple of windy staircases which I thought was fun but spooked some people on my tour. It was so interesting to see the inside the house and learn about the lightkeepers' family history. It's an old Victorian house/lighthouse. If you don't go on the tour you can still tour the grounds. Parking is difficult on the weekends because it's next to a park but there was some spots in the neighborhood. The Korean Friendship bell is close by.

Visited the Colorado Lagoon to search for bioluminescent fireworms on an April evening about thirty…read moreminutes after sunset by the dock. When I arrived, there were already people lined up along the edge, quietly focused on searching for a glowing line that moved like a worm. Parents had brought their children, making it an all ages event. The sight was captivating as the fireworms swarmed near the surface of the water for a few seconds before diving back in. It is said that these creatures rise from the seabed during specific moon phases to spawn at the surface, creating an unforgettable display.
