I LOVE The corn maze! My family goes every year and we have so much fun. There are plenty of kid activities, but also adult! There are food trucks with food and alcohol and vendors to shop. You can buy produce and pumpkins of course at the Long & Scott store. And there are plenty of photo ops everywhere. It does always get super hot while in the maze, so bring water! I love Great Scott Farms! Formerly Long and Scott farms. This farm has so much fun for the kids in the fall. A new corn maze theme every single year! Lots of photo ops, a zip line for the kids, a burlap sack slide, huge playground, a bounce pillow for kids, a gigantic fire pit, food trucks and fresh made lemonade and corn that is produced on the farm. They also have a great gift shop with fresh made jelly's and various other sauces and spices as well as fresh produce from the farm. We love the zellwood sweet corn that is so crisp and sweet that it doesn't need butter or salt or ANYTHING. Straight of the cob it's perfect! We never miss a year to come for a fall visit. The staff here are amazing and usually kids from the local schools here for a part time job. It's wonderful community fun! read more

I recently visited Long & Scott Farms/Great Scott Farms for their corn maze & Fall Festival. What a perfect fall outing. We got to learn about the crops they grow there, what makes their corn & pickling cucumbers so great, and enjoy some yummy food. A poorly timed downpour during our time in the corn maze just made it all the more fun. I picked up some goodies at their store on the way out and am LOVING their cowboy pickles. Guys let me tell ya'll... I was pleasantly surprised of how much of a hidden gem Long & Scott Farms is!! I recent had a chance to check out this place for a work outing and it was so much fun and really got us in the holiday spirit. Long & Scott farms is located in the city of Mt. Dora a bit secluded from everything else... but not too far from the downtown area. When we first arrived we were greeted by the lovely workers of the farm that gave us a run down of the history and ammenities. We then were treated to a nice tractor ride around the facility and got to learn a bit more about the crops grown there and the day to day activities. After our ride was over, we started the main attraction which was the corn maze. The maze was such a fun group activity. Even though my team came in dead last... and took forever to get out... we truly enjoyed finding our way around. After the maze we were able to check out the mini shop and cafe and picked up some goodies to bring home. I really enjoyed my time here at Long & Scott Farms. There are plenty of things to do here especially if you have little ones... they would really enjoy the slide and bounce area. I definitely am going to be coming back soon, especially to check out their weekend fall festivities! read more

Visited this place while on vacation with family. We wanted to bring the kids to the pumpkin patch as there's not much in Florida. But this was close enough to a patch. It was about an hour away from the place we were staying. It is off the main road. It a cute farm shop that offers fresh vegetables, there's a cafe on site and a shop. We also found out that, it's not an actual patch as it's too hot for pumpkins to grow so they were shipped in. They had a good a selection even though it was almost Halloween. I believe they have a corn maze as well but not quite sure. The store has your local goods, loads of trinkets and so on. The fresh veggies in the cooler were nice. We got some pickles were amazing as well the major brick of butter that came in very handy. Overall, cute little shop. read more

I brought my 3 year old niece and chihuahua here on a Saturday for the Fall Festival! We met some other friends with 9 and 15 year old boys. I love that there was something for all ages to do. The two corn mazes (one is easier/shorter than the other) were a highlight for all! There were several food trucks and places to get beverages ranging from water and soda to adult libations. Now, many of the trucks sold out early, especially the more popular, The Salted Fry, and that is the reason for my 4 stars instead of 5. Though the trucks aren't the farms responsibility it did effect the overall experience for us. We ended up leaving to head to the permanent location of The Salted Fry in Downtown Mt Dora about 10 minutes up the road. Highly recommend Great Scott Farm for a fun family day for all ages. read more

The seasonal corn maze adventure has been a family tradition for years. Located in Mount Dora, Great Scott Farms ( formerly Long & Scott Farms), is the perfect spot to have a fun day with the family. Your entrance fee gives you access to different activities in the farm including the corn maze ( which is my favorite). This year the theme was space exploration and I have to say it took us a bit to find the exit. The maze is interactive as you can find areas to complete an activity guide given before entering. If you get lost just wave the red flag they gave you and someone will be right there to help you find your way. It is a lot of fun! This is a great place to visit with family. There are many activities dedicated for kids, like a slide, a bouncing area, fishing, mini zip lining and more. There's food and drinks too. Plus plenty of shaded area with picnic tables. Definitely give it a try if you are looking for something fun and different to do. Keep in mind this is not an all day activity and the maze/fall festival is only open through November 26, so check their website. Tickets can also be purchased online at a discount price. Their seasonal Scott's Maze Adventure is such a hit with my family! We came here and ended up spending all day enjoying the farm. Their corn mazes were fun, even while getting lost in their main maze, but the cute interactive activities (i.e. crayon rubbings) along the way made it extra engaging. Their farm tour was great and it was interesting to hear about and see the crops. Lots of activities for all ages, but their catch and release pond was a definite favorite. Of course we couldn't go home without bags of their sweet corn and a few gifts from their market. Huge appreciation for their incredible staff who were all welcoming and courteous. read more

Had a great time here today for the fall festival! I loved that there is an easier/shorter corn maze (est: 10-15 min) and a more difficult version (est: 30 min) depending on your interest. The food trucks sold out of most items by the time we were ready to eat around 2:30 so eat early! Great afternoon at the farm. This is perfect for family's because there is so much to do to keep the kiddos occupied on the adventure side. There was fishing, a tube slide and tubs to roll in, mazes of all kinds, hayrides, live music, food and so much more. There's a lot of space for the kids to burn off some energy in a safe place. I went a small group to do the large corn maze. Very impressive is all I can say. Well done Long and Scott. You will definitely get your steps in. A fall must do outing for kids of all ages. The market was full of fresh fruit and vegetables at good prices. It all looked healthy. The general store sold jams, jellies, sauces and of course local honey. There were mixes, treats and knick knack items. There was a restaurant that we didn't eat in but the menu looked good but limited. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The farm was decorated for the fall with hay bales, scarecrows and pumpkins. Lots of staging area for some pictures. Maybe one for next year a Christmas card? read more

An excellent place for local fun and adventures. The Long and Scott Farms hold an annual corn maze for the season and it is a great way to explore the area and get out into nature. We headed out here with a group of friends to explore the maze, the market and the other offerings. When we arrived they had plenty of free parking and we were able to park within a short walk. We hit a deal as it was the last week of the maze so it was half price - just $6. The larger corn maze is extensive and if you just wander through it, this could easily take you a long time of fun and mischief. If you follow the map and logic your way out of it, you can be out within about 30 min. They offer maps and clues that you can either look at or ignore. The market is excellent, and I highly recommend you stop in and see what the local fare is - especially the sweet corn, since this location is super close to Zellwood, which is known for its annual corn festival. The honey butter in the fridge case is also a hit! The staff throughout the farm and market were exceptionally helpful and friendly. It was a fun filled day and it easily could fill a whole day for you and your family! Overall: A Great way to spend a day and enjoy seasonal outdoor activities, while also supporting local! read more

On Saturday we drove from Clermont to purchase corn to eat that evening. When husked it was evident that the corn was days old and not picked that morning as the attendant had indicated. Have recommended their corn to several friends and certainly will not be doing that again. read more

My boyfriend and I had a nice afternoon here. We came for the little market and pumpkins! The market had awesome fresh produce, which we absolutely loved! The cute indoor shop has local jams, sauces, pickled veggies, and honey. We picked up a few items and we're already planning to restock (we can't get enough of the dill pickle mustard)!! There's also a little restaurant where you can grab breakfast or lunch. The food was delicious! I had a chicken salad sandwich and the boyfriend had a turkey melt. This farm by far has the best corn I've ever had in my life. I grew up near farms that had corn however this variety is special and this is the last farm in the area that grows it. I believe all of the other farms have been sold for development. If you are anywhere near here when their crop is in season go buy some. Ches P crack corn and i don't care! Came here for family funday sunday with my niece, nephew, and the rest of the fam on a random idea my sister had for us, and had a great time! Corn mazes, hay rides, funnel cake, and lemonade was perfect for the cool and sunny November day. Their general store included produce grown right from the farm! Corn, cucumbers, egg plants, peppers, potatoes... and farm fresh eggs! Even though they cost double than the grocery store, they are hormone-free, cage-free, and taste amazing! If you haven't had farm fresh eggs... you should! Since the produce is grown right here, you know they are picked fresh and therefore tastes even better and have more nutrients... also costs half of what they sell them at the grocery store. So if my math is correct, you'll spend the same amount buying eggs and produce here as in the grocery store, but you have better quality food and are supporting local businesses and making a nice family funday out of it! We went on the last day of the event, so we got in for half price, a measly $6. For that you got full access to a tree maze, rope maze, two different corn mazes, zip line for the kids, a giant slide, and more. They serve food on site. For an additional price they also offer hayrides. Overall, it's a great deal for the price. Since it was so close to Christmas, we also got a chance to meet Santa and take pictures with him! 5 stars for a corn maze that delivered! My girlfriends and I finally got around to checking out Long & Scott Farms and we had a blast! Everyone that worked there was super friendly from the time we got there to the time we left. The ticket price was fair and shortly after paying, we were on our way. Without giving too much away, it's kind of like a scavenger hunt while in the maze. To my surprise, the maze was huge and I will admit that we did get lost a time or 2. The farm is very kid friendly and there are plenty of other activities to do on the farm besides the maze and there are a few food stands and trucks as well. On your way out you can stop at their general store and pick up a few things, or grab some fresh veggies too. Overall, we had such a good time. It was very hot, so I would say wait until the weather cools down first. Additional tips: -To avoid the line to pay to get in, buy your tickets online ahead of time. -I was going to bring my 3 year old niece to do the maze, but it would have been way too much for her. If you have little ones, consider the playground, slides, and other activities instead. read more

The bad: Don't bother buying a ticket online in advance where you pay the convenience fees because you will STILL need to wait on the line to "check in" and get a wrist band for the maze. Also, the times didn't seem to matter. We drove 3 hours to come here and picked 2:30 as our maze time and got here at 1. After maybe 20 mins on the line, once we got to check in, I asked and she said the time didn't matter. Definitely bring closed shoes or sneakers because the maze is long and your feet will get filthy and full of all kinds of stuff. It's FL and hot and there is absolutely no shade in the maze!! The lanes were also pretty tight and narrow so when people wanted to pass, it was frustrating especially since Covid is still a thing. Also some people were pulling their kids in wagons, which is absurd given the size of the walkway. You literally have to step up against the corn and hope they don't run over your feet. And there were areas where there were lots of weeds growing along the paths. There's also a tree maze on the property that has NO pathway and little pokey/scratchy things in the grass that cut you if you're not wearing pants. We bailed on that quickly. There were NO cider donuts anywhere, not any apple cider. Pretty disappointing! The good: The water bottles are only $1 so that's great when it's 90 degrees outside! Note: definitely bring water with you into the maze as it is long! They sell them when you get to the bridge in case you didn't. The maze was fun and definitely challenging. I feel the $$ was worth it for this! We did not buy the maze glasses, so I'm not sure if they make it "easier". The pumpkins are not nearly as pricey as other farms, but are prob more pricey than a grocery store or Costco. There's plenty to do for kids. There's also food options which is nice. We got the street corn and bratwurst. Both were pretty good. The market has a lot of stuff, some is local, some isn't. They had spaghetti squash from MI which was confusing, but we got once since it was bigger than any I find in our grocers. Some other items were pricey so we didn't bother. read more

OMG, I have never eaten raw corn before, but this corn was so tender and sweet, well, I ate a whole ear!!! Took us over 2 hours to get here, what a ride, but what else does a retired couple have to do? They have a little cafe where you can get their homemade corn chowdah and corn muffin. A hint of spiciness... mmmmmm!!! They also have a store that sells syrups, jams, honey, ciders and knicknacks!! Fun! So we leave with a dozen corn, pickling cumbersome, orange honey and a bowl of chowdah! People here were awesome!! Well worth the rise for us!! Now, let's see if we can find our way home! The Zellwood sweetcorn festival has been a Central Florida staple for decades. This year they cancelled the festival but the farm that had supplied all the corn for the festival had their own mini spring sweetcorn festival right on the farm. This place is a haul, waaaaaaay out in Zellwood but not too far for us in Apopka. Every Saturday in May they open the farm and market for the festival. They offer fun things for the kiddies like a tree maze (in the fall it's a corn maze), rock maze, nature walk, hayrides, fishing and a slide which is really a tube buried in a huge dirt pile, and of course sweetcorn! The Saturday we went was after a week of some of the heaviest rain on record so the place was very wet. We squished our way through the maze and got pretty muddy and wet from the ankles down. Everyone had wet shoes and socks. Half of the playground was flooded but everything else was open, just a little wet. The people were SUPER friendly. Every single person working there asked if we were doin' alright or if we needed anything. I think the highlight, besides the corn, was the hayride pulled by a real tractor (my kid loved that part). The man driving the tractor was part of the family that owns and operates the farm. He stopped part way through the ride to talk about the crops and farm and passed around some samples. Long & Scott's is a fourth generation family farm whose main crop is not only sweetcorn but pickles as well. In fact, as we rode by the manufacturing building we saw actual pickles flopping out from a conveyor belt and into a truck for delivery. The big downside is that at $10 per adult it is a little steep for what you get. I think that if they threw in a couple of ears of corn it would be worth the ten bucks. An individual piece of hot corn on the cob will set you back $2. You can also buy corn in bulk- we went home with 4 dozen ears. We cooked some for dinner and it was wonderful! The day we went it was overcast and cool but I can't imagine a normal May day. I think it would be better going to the fall festival when the weather is cooler (and drier!). read more

I knew that there was a corn maze here but I was not expecting such a fun country store and cafe. I was also amazed by the selection and prices of all the pumpkins, gourds and local produce. We came to do the corn maze but ultimately decided it was too hot that day to walk around in the sun. Instead we waited at the cafe while my brother and sister-in-law did the small maze. For a small maze it took quite some time and I'm told there is a big slide at the entrance. They also stated that the maze was not overly crowded with people so they were able to enjoy "finding their way". While we were waiting we had a sloppy joe and a pork sandwich at the cafe. The sloppy joe was so tasty, and I appreciated it because you don't see those on the menu that often. We also watched kids having a blast on the hay ride. In the store they had tons of fresh local produce including okra, peppers, tomatoes, potatoes, winter squash and more. We couldn't resist the fresh okra and butternut squash for such a low price.They also have wreaths and Indian corn outside, not to mention tons of pumpkins both the carving and heirloom style for very reasonable prices. This is a great place to gather items for fall decor. Inside they have a store with lots of pickled veggies and jams, as well as candles, farm cheeses and some touristy tchotchkes and t-shirts. I hesitate to give out a five star because the restroom situation isn't so great - it's only porta johns. The only option to wash your hands is a sink hidden at the back of the cafe,somewhat of a challenge to find after exiting the plastic potty dome. I would definitely return to this spot though for a fun fall day and I would do the maze once the weather is nice. It would be a great place to take kids for a simple day in the outdoors. read more

What a super fun place to spend a day! Took Small Fry to do the corn maze. Wasn't sure what to expect, but there was enough "stuff" to do to keep you there the whole day: large corn maze, mini corn maze, playground, *jumping "pillow", kid's zip line, big tube slide, *fishing, picnic area, *hay ride and Scott's Country Market! (*denotes extra minimal charge) Things to bring: Sunscreen Water for each person Snacks for in the maze Wet wipes A bag to put all the above stuff in a plastic bag to put your trash and others trash in Cash for food vendors (Scott's Country Market and maze ticket booth take plastic & there is a small ATM located in the store.) Things to wear: Closed toe shoes, i.e. sneakers Hat (especially if you forgot sunscreen) I LOVED that it was a wholesome family environment. One of the maze rules is no foul language. It was refreshing to spend the whole day not hearing one F-bomb dropped and trying to keep Small Fry from hearing, and repeating, bad language! You are welcome to bring a small cooler to have a picnic lunch. The maze, and activities, is only open from September - December and Scott's Country Market is operated May - June and October - November. (See website for actual dates, as I'm sure it changes from year to year due to weather, etc.) Note that they have Port-O-Lets and hand washing stations available, but no indoor bathroom facilities are available. I highly recommend buying your ticket online and skipping any wait upon arrival. Hit the hay ride before everyone else decides to. Bring hand sanitizer. The food may not be anything fancy, but DO NOT miss buying a giant, deliciously cold and crisp pickle for $3. Worst corn we ever had! Bought a bag and a few other items. Corn was about 12.00 a dozen. Really? I'm guessing its the magic corn the place is noted for. Pre-bagged so our fault for not seeing what your getting. After spending about 30.00 bux on a few old veggies and the corn we were ready to shuck it and have it! Ummmm it was old, dry and tiny ears! Was it cow corn? Thank god we are not denture wearer's or we would had been in big trouble! Walking through it was a little messy and unswept, but the place just wasn't doing it for us. I visited the farm with my family the week on 10/17/2020. General speaking the farm would be a nice outdoor countryside gateway half a day thing. However, in our current pandemic situation I had to ask myself "what planet are the owner and visitor of this place living on? We found our self among the few people wearing mask and /or keeping social distance. what are the owners of this place thinking? They should enforce mask waring and social distance. Obviously, people in this country need something called common sense. Forget about the stupid statement of "I am loosing my freedom if I ware a mask or keep social distance" -----you lost your freedom from the moment you started working for an American corporation. Today I ordered lunch for our staff of 10, I called it in and picked it up and it was ready in 20 minutes (six of us had the pulled pork sandwich, three had hamburgers, and one had the corn chowder. Like two years ago, we were here to do some "gleaning" which is picking what's left after the harvest. This year, we worked the corn fields. Our group was only 12; but, another group that joined us made for almost 30 individuals. After working all morning, we had picked nearly 5,000 pounds of corn. In cooperation with the Mission of St. Andrews; and, a food pantry in Homossassa Springs, FL about 15,000 servings of corn were made available to needy families on Florida's west coast. We spent the rest of the day in the corn maze, shopping, and dining at Long and Scott Farms. The facilities are quite nice; and, we really had a good time, although we were worn out when we got home; and, sore for days after... my family and I are looking forward to more gleaning; and, enjoying the great produce, jams, and candies from the store. read more

Lots to do for kiddos for sure, but there is NO COVID measures enforced. We visited on 10/25/20. It was so crowded, most were not wearing masks (even seniors who are more susceptible), people were not social distancing. The staff themselves primarily did not wear masks. If you are not ready to be amongst a large crowd, with lack of social distancing in place, then this place is not for you. You are required to pass through the small market from the parking lot to get to the ticketing check-in area. The market was over crowded with customers. We had to weave our way through. The buy tickets online in advance option (for less face to face contact) and staggered entry time selected (to control the number of customers at any given time) was a JOKE! It was a free for all once you entered the farm. People were shoulder to shoulder between the ticket area and entry of park. If I had not have already paid online, I would have turned myself back to the car (despite the 1 hour drive from our home). All in all, I wish I can get my $41 dollars back. The only place that you can semi social distance is in the corn maze itself. The rest is WORSE than Disney! At least at Disney; people are required to wear masks. This year marks their 10 year anniversary of the Corn Maze. We came here for the corn maze and were pleasently surprised with the experience. They are deinitely set up for families with children but we had a great time getting lost in the "maize." For children, they have a seperate maze, playground, bouce pillow (you have the check this out), fishing, hay rides, and other fun farm activities. Eventhough there were hundreds of people here, the place is so big that I never felt cramped or like a herd as we made our way through the maze. The cool thing is that they have different games setup throughout the maze and they provide you with a pamphlet that has clues and such to complete as you make you way through. After we completed the maze we enjoyed a snack from one of the food trucks (they have their own cafe on property too but it was busy) and before we left we stopped in the country store for some homemade goodies and of course some of their famous Zellwood Sweet Corn to take home. As far as a day in the corn fields and enjoying all things farm living, this is a great option in the central Florida area. I've been here twice-both times with elementary aged kids and a fun day was had by all. Their corn maze is amazing -it's pretty difficult in my opinion, and a challenge to get out of. Don't worry-if you get lost, raise your flag and someone will come get you. Their produce stand is exceptional and a wonderful way to bring some fresh fruits and veggies home with you. read more
