Ernest solved my problem, and I asked him to install three extension pipes to allow better delivery to the entire back yard. I had a sprinkler system installed at my home in the front and backyard by James and his team. James came to my home for the initial consultation and answered all of my questions with patience (I can ask a lot of questions, lol). The team was at my home within 2 weeks (they would have come sooner but I was out of town) and got the job done in one day. They cleaned up the yard afterwards and left no mess or mud. After a week or so, I wanted to make several additions to my system, and James and his team were back out here promptly. The girls in the office were also a pleasure to speak with and text when I was not able to talk on the phone. My favorite part about my system is that I can control everything from an app on my phone that James help me set up. I called last week to schedule an appointment for during the week. They called back and said the only thing they had was Sunday, so I took the appointment. Around 9am the service tech called and said they were ahead of schedule. I informed him that I would not be ready until my scheduled time which was 11:30 am. Shortly after that Elizabeth call and said her tech folks like to get off early. I explained to her that I needed to keep the 11:30 appointment, she said they would move me to later in the day. I again said that would not work. She continued to talk over me and raise her voice to the point my wife had to intervene. End statements we canceled our appointment to give her tech time off. Finding a reliable and seasoned company to fix irrigation problems has been frustrating until I found Lone Star!!! They diagnosed and fixed the problem I was having - a bad controller. In the process they discovered an underground leak in my mainline that has been leaking for some time. Since then I have called and left 4 messages over 3 months to try to get him to get phase 2 completed and have not had the courtesy of even a phone call. The 2nd time my sprinklers Lone Star installed in my backyard would not shut off. I panicked because my yard was still muddy from the last time this happened and they were all on today. I called Lone Star several times in a panic. Mackenzie was patient with me and Tony did arrive and was helpful. I am writing this review however based on the woman yelling "Don't take no s^%# off her!" The last time I called. I asked Mackenzie if that was aimed at me and she said it was not. Whether or not it was, it was extremely unprofessional and flat out trashy. We need some more work done with our system because it turns out the problem is with our irrigation box unrelated to Lone Star's installation. Even though the reason it turns out as to why the sprinklers weren't shutting off had nothing to do with their equipment, we are going with the company our neighbor used for everything else in the future. We have a warranty on the system but after that trashy woman yelling, we are done with them. After I told my husband about the woman and what she mouth off in the background, he was angry and called and spoke with Makenzie who told him that I had kept calling and was being hysterical. With only 2 technicians out working for them and my backyard flooding with no one else to call, and no clue why it would not turn off even after I unplugged my irrigation box, one would be in a panic. It validates our opinion of these people and their inability to work with customers who are having emergency level sprinkler issues. He told her that he wanted the owner to return his call. We aren't holding our breath on that. A business is only as professional as its leader. read more

I had sprinklers installed back in August. When I first contacted the company, they were very responsive and got back to me immediately or contacted me whenever they needed information. James even came to my house when I was not home, before I even had a chance to schedule a consultation, to look at my property and give me an estimate. I scheduled a date for the sprinkler installation and then took that day off of work so I could be home while the service was being done. A couple days after scheduling the appointment they called me and asked to re-schedule to a day earlier than originally planned. This was fine with me and I adjusted my work schedule accordingly. The day before installation was scheduled James contacted me and said he needed to come to my house and flag out the property. He said he would call me beforehand when he was headed my way, but when I came home from work that day he had already been there and only flagged the front lawn. This didn't seem like a huge deal to me, but the fact that he said he was going to do something and then did not do it should have been warning sign #1 for me. The day of installation, James arrived in the morning before the rest of his crew. After waiting for at least an hour, James informed me that there had been a mix-up and they hadn't actually scheduled a crew for that day. THEY were the ones that re-scheduled from the original date, yet they didn't follow through to actually make sure they had workers for that day, and I had already adjusted my work schedule. Warning sign #2. They ended up coming back the next day (the originally scheduled day) and completing the work. The actual installation itself went smoothly, although they left trash scattered in my yard. I ordered lunch for the workers out of courtesy, and James showed up at the end of the day to inspect their work. When I tried to ask him questions, he addressed me in a condescending tone that I did not appreciate. But in an effort to be "nice", I let it slide. They finished up the work and left, and I thought that would be it. Now imagine my surprise when two weeks later on a Sunday morning at 9 am, someone rings my doorbell. When I answered, it was one of the workers that did the installation, saying that he came back to ask where I had ordered them lunch from because he wanted to get some more. The day of installation he had given me his phone number in case I "had any questions" later and told me to text him so he could have my number, which I did not because I know that trick. I am a woman that lives alone, and I was EXTREMELY uncomfortable that this man thought it was appropriate to come back to my house like that. It was obvious he just wanted a reason to contact me again. I ended the conversation as soon as possible and he left. At this point I was frightened and mad, and I felt like my trust in this company had been betrayed. That night I wrote them an e-mail explaining the situation and how concerned I was. I expected to hear back from then right away, but Monday went by, then Tuesday, then Wednesday....and nothing. When they wanted my business they responded to me immediately and persistently, but now it was radio silence. I thought maybe they didn't get my e-mail, so on Wednesday afternoon I finally called James. He said they had gotten my e-mail and were trying to figure out a "good time" to call me. For three days. Are you kidding me?! He was extremely flippant about the entire situation and didn't seem concerned at all. He even told me I SHOULD BE FLATTERED that his man "took a liking to" me and came to my house uninvited. I was livid at this point but got off the phone with him as soon as possible. I could not believe that he cared so little about his business reputation and his clients. He clearly has no clue what it feels like to be a woman and be put in a situation where a stranger knows where you live, and you have no idea of their background or motivations. Maybe if you are a man you will have better luck with this company, but if you are a woman or have daughters I would not recommend them. If James had seriously addressed my concerns that would have made all of the difference, but unfortunately he chose not to. read more

I received a quote for nearly $1500 and when I elected to get a second opinion, the costs was not even 1/3 of the amount I had been quoted. What's really sad is that the second company identified real issues and immediately corrected them including a pool of water near my AC that had created a small pond from a broken sprinkler. Our drip valves had been pulled out of the ground and no attempt had been made at returning the grounds to what they looked like upon arrival. Price gauging identified by one of the reviews appears to be accurate. If you elect this company, be VERY CAREFUL... I also found them in HomeMag, but not everything that looks good is good for you! I found this place in the HomeMag and called them for the special. Just had my spring check up done today. The owner James came out and did the check and backflow test. He was very nice and completed it in a timely manner. The person I spoke to when I scheduled was also very nice as well. Seems like a very good company and I will be using them in the future. Very disappointed. They came out and tried to overcharge me for labor and materials. $750 to move sprinkler valve and sprinkler pvc pipes. When I mentioned I could do some of the labor prep, they said they would reduce the price to $300 (2 hours labor and $100 materials). I contacted them this week that the labor prep is half done and asked them what the $100 materials would involve (since it's really just about 50 to 60 feet pvc pipe, fittings, the plumbing adhesive and then re-using the materials at the site for the wires) and after 8 hours, they responded they are going to decline their services. Sounds like I called them out for trying to price gouge me 5x on materials. read more
