These folks do a pretty decent job with donuts. My biggest criticism is the cost. Just seems to be a few cents more expensive than other places. I am kind of a minimalist when it comes to glaze, toppings, and extras. My favorite is actually a plain old fashioned. I had one and it was better than average but I would have preferred a crunchier texture on outside- I like to gear and feel a little crunch. My second donut was a raised yeast donut with a pumpkin spice frosting. This was really good. The donut itself had a great pillowy structure, good taste, not greasy/oily. The pumpkin spice glaze was very good and it was not globbed on but rather a nicely spread somewhat thin frosting that tasted very good. The woman who took my order was very friendly and nice and as I turned to walk away another person behind the counter thanked me for coming in. That in itself would keep me coming in. Well done Lone Star. If I can see that crunchy:crispy texture on that old fashioned I would score a 5. read more

Great service and great donuts. Donuts are always fresh and arrive from their Silverdale location. So if you arrive and they are low on stock then you just might have to check back for their next delivery. I look forward to when they open their next location at the port orchard mall. As one reviewer stated, "blink and you will miss it". The service was wonderful, seems to be a mom and pop facility that the local community is embracing. Saw several ppl come in to grab a donut or two. The donuts are not your traditional but they have your traditional as well. They have small bags of donut holes next to the register. Also, an espresso station for your specialty drinks. The prices are a bit higher, dozen (Premium - not sure what the levels are) cost $20. Service was wonderful, kind but not over the top to yell welcome or hello. The shop was clean and simple but you can see the friendly and welcoming rather than the stale traditional donut shops. Only negative I have was, bought some plain old fashions with my dozen and they were fried too long, on the crunchier side rather than the soft. Otherwise, family enjoyed the rest of them. read more

The customer service is the best with a warm greeting as you enter. The owner even took a donut out of the case for us to try before making a purchase! Finally a decent donut in Port Orchard. Lone Star has the old standards plus a large assortment of jelly filled. Besides the regular custard and raspberry, they had pineapple coconut, guava, mango, and a few others. That had some interesting fancies like an Oreo, Reese's, Butterfinger, and I think it was a Snickers. Anyway they need a bigger parking lot to accommodate the weekend morning crowd. I travel the other way in the morning during the work week so I have not driven by the AM peak. The employees are very enthusiastic as they should be with a good product. I wish I had gone earlier so that I would have gotten a hot one, at 10:30 they had cooled off to room temperature. read more

Growing up in Dallas, the best donuts you can find are Shipley's and honestly these are about as close as you can get(nostalgia is missing lol). So for years I have been looking for a great donut shop. Lone Star Donuts goes above and beyond great! They are absolutely amazing. From the donuts to customer service, cleanliness they go above all of my standards. The donuts are light and airy. They don't have that bad oil taste like a lot of donut shops around. Their flavors are amazing and they have "seasonal" flavors as well. I have never been in where they were slow which speaks volumes about their quality. The customer service is very good. They are patient with you as you have an existential crisis on what flavors to choose. My go to's are the chocolate glazed and bacon maple. Those two you can't go wrong with. All in all definitely give them a try but get there early so nothing is sold out. read more
