I'm talking about the Ski/Snowboard shop within London's Source For Sports - we've been there a few times now to outfit our young snowboarder and have been very pleased with the service, professionalism and advice we've received. I knew little about the sport before last year beyond my child's enthusiasm. The shop manager spent time to educate me (and my child) about the equipment he'd need and what we could expect from it in terms of both his physical growth and sporting competency plus wear-and-tear for the coming seasons. While they'll always have the latest and greatest gear (which is great), they might not have the best service. I went in a season or 2 ago to fix my Graf skates, the screw had rot out between the boot and blade holder. The person in charge of skates took 2 seconds to look at them. He said I needed to buy new skates. Ha. The employee didn't seem like he was the part time teenage type either and seemed experienced in what he did. I went across town to the other sports store. They fixed it for $15. I still use these skates. I wasn't too impressed to say the least. Sure, if you don't dabble with skate repairs, why tell me to buy new skates? read more

Went in to buy ski/snowboard goggles and coat. The one guy on the floor with the ski and snowboard equipment spent the entire 15 minutes I was there on his cell phone complaining about his girlfriend to a buddy. On my way out, the teenaged girl behind the counter chased me outside and accused me of stealing, because "well it didn't beep when you walked in." Absolutely inexcusable behaviour. Their selection varies depending on what sports you're interested in. I was shocked that they didn't have any youth sized basketballs when I was there considering that's what the kids play with in their leagues. I also find the prices to be one of the highest in town and now only go there when I'm stuck! read more
