If you like fish and chips, I thought this was a thoroughly delightful place to eat. I ordered the 2 piece fish and chips. I was told by the gentleman working there that the fish is actually cod, which is great. The fish pieces were large and both the fish as well as the chips were cooked to a golden brown and it was not greasy at all. The 2 piece meal was only $13.60, which I thought was very reasonable. My only complaint, if I had one, was that I requested lemon to squeeze on to my fish, and they told me they didn't have any at the time. read more

If this is London's best, I'd hate to see London's worst. Overcooked fish. Overcooked fries. I've had better fish everywhere. Both taste-wise, and preparation-wise. My pretty much burnt fries tasted so bland too, like Great Value brand. I was going to say nothing at all, since I had nothing nice to say, but forget that! They had two jobs, and they botched them both. The worse part is that they chose to serve that burnt basket of food to a first-time customer. Seriously? At least dump the fries in the trash and start over, they're not that expensive, especially considering the price they charged. I rate them two stars because I did not like it. read more

Good portions, I think it's cod for the fish, my partner and I got the 3 pieces of fish combo and it was nice and crispy and the fish melts in your mouth, service was nice and fast. My only gripe is the constant playing of country music. Not my fave but whatever. All the food overall just needed a little more seasoning but after dumping lemon juice, malt vinegar, and salt on everything and of course ketchup on the fries, everything was delicious. Place shopping center is being remodeled right now but no problem getting into the restaurant. The lady at the counter was nice and friendly. We ordered two 3 fish and chips meals as well as a side of onion rings. The fish and onion rings were cooked well and the flavors were good. Unfortunately the fries (chips) were well over cooked. I love this spot! If I want fried food, they're hard to beat. I've eaten here many times and the quality never varies. I've tried different combos and like them all. I once got a huge takeout order to feed my big mourning family and some friends, after we lost a loved one. They questioned the order bc it was so big. I told them what it was for. Impressed with the food quality. The fish is not greasy or problematic in any way. Pieces are long and a little thin. Smaller fish portions than you'll find at "The Northridge", as a comparison. The hushpuppies are very good but I would agree with another reviewer who found them to be a bit overcooked. Loved the generous portions of very good tartar sauce! There were no lemon slices in our order so you just might need to ask for this if you like lemon with your fish. The coleslaw was pretty mayo heavy but otherwise good. The interior is very small and there is music playing. Something to be aware of is the pricing is higher (like most places) than in the past. For example, menus for London's Best Fish and Chips that you are likely as of this writing to come across online, have significantly lower prices. The most recent menu on Facebook shows the Family Fish and Chips platter as 28.99 for 9 pieces. We were charged 38.99 in the restaurant. The large coleslaw is listed as 2.25 but is now actually 2.99....so there's two examples, be prepared! I'd probably take off a half star for the opaque pricing. Be aware. But otherwise, the workers are very polite and all of the eat-in customers were well behaved and seemed to be very much enjoying their meals. An excellent quick meal option! I like the location, cleanliness and service , however I'm disappointed that they only offer pollock fish. I've frequented many of these and this is the only one that only has one kind of fish. It's a little nicer inside than the fish and chip joints we have down in the Roseville area. The prices are about the same as most places, about $8.00 for a 2 piece order with chips. My 2-piece order is enough for me, but if you're a big hungry guy, you might go for the 3 piece order. The fish is good quality and tastes good and no funny smells that don't belong. The fries are standard frozen fries, so, no, they don't have any fancy hand cut potatoes, just regular fries. Other seafood choices are available as well, like oysters and shrimp. The clam strips were also way over-cooked, over-browned. Last but not least, the hush puppies were... yep, you guessed it, over-browned and over-cooked.
